Pizza
I don't like pizza much. Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm from Chicago and supposed to like the deep-dish, but really not-so-much (ask me about the hot dogs, though, they're the best, srsly). I'll eat it to be polite, or if it's what's for dinner, but generally find most pizza kinda "blech". But I think I've found my pizza delight. "Gourmet-style" thin-crust. I'm sodium-sensitive now, so it's a treat, but nothing makes me go "yuuuuummmmm" as much as some of the pizza I've discovered in the last year or two. These are my two favorite five-nom pizzas.
Best grocery store pizza: Culinary Circle Ultra Thin Crust Garlic Chicken Alfredo Pizza. When I first discovered this, it was always in stock. But they must have gotten popular this year, and now sometimes there are only a few out on the shelf (probably doesn't help that I like to go midnight-grocery-shopping). I cheer when I see that, though, because I'm all "yeah, this stuff is the BEST". Very garlic, very yum, but need a well-preheated oven and to cook it directly on the oven rack (not a pan), as the directions suggest.

Best delivery pizza: Marcello's ( A Father & Son Restaurant ). We used to really like Leona's, way back before I had to cut down on salt (now everything there tastes like it's been rolled in salt), before they changed their menu and all the signature items we used to get went away, and before the quality became more mass-made (and before their entire website went flash). I never got the pizza, but liked the cheese sticks (they were like logs. they were fantastic.), salads, and deserts. But then, after a series of declining-quality experiences, we had to go on a hunt for a new favorite place. Marcello's left a well-timed menu on our door. They're pricier than I'd like, but the taste... it's amazing. We try to only order once a month, or every other month, 'cause we know it's a treat and we should cook at home. So now we're like, "It's the season finale of Battlestar - SPECIAL OCCASION!" or "First day of Spring - SPECIAL OCCASION!!" and so on. They don't have pictures I can find to tempt you with, so I'll give you the descriptions of our favorite "thin and crispy" pizzas.
First choice - buffalo chicken: Buffalo (hot) sauce, fresh ground chicken breast, tomato, red onion and mozzarella cheese. Blue cheese available upon request (yes, you need to get the blue cheese)
Second choice - garlic chicken, Mushroom and Fresh basil: Fresh ground chicken breast made with garlic and olive oil sauce, fresh mushrooms topped with mozzarella, romano cheese and fresh basil, seasoned with herbs and spices
Also, they have a hot toffee apple desert pizza that's very nice.
We got another menu on our door from one of those new, yuppie, trendy places opening up (hi, gentrification) and thought we'd try it last night. It was miserably bad. Next time I'll just stick with one of the above!
