About Mariemeont Barbershop

Our History

The Early Years

Mariemont Barber Shop’s story begins in 1934 when it was founded by the first owner, Mr. Hopewell. This humble establishment quickly gained a reputation for its skilled barbers and commitment to exceptional service.

Passing the Torch

In 1950, Mr. Hopewell decided to pass on the business to Furman “Mac” McFadden. Under Mac’s ownership, the shop continued to thrive and serve the local community.

The Renato Era

In 1975, Renato Salzano joined the Mariemont Barber Shop team, marking the beginning of a new era for the shop. Renato quickly became an integral part of the business and in 1980, he took over as the new owner. Renato is one of the best barbers to ever serve the trade. His professionalism and work ethic will be carried on, and are undeniable to anyone who has ever met him.

A New Generation

Fast forward to 1997, when Brian Peter, just 19 years old at the time, started working at Mariemont Barber Shop. For 26 years, Brian honed his skills and built a loyal clientele, making him an indispensable member of the team.

Meet the current Owners/Barbers

Today, Mariemont Barber Shop is proudly owned by Brian Peter and Tim Putterbaugh. As the grandson of Renato Salzano, Tim has a deep connection to the shop’s history, and he has been part of the team for 10 years. Brian’s impressive 26-year tenure speaks to his dedication and commitment to providing top-notch barbering services.

Together, Brian and Tim represent the best of Mariemont Barber Shop, carrying forward the tradition of excellence established by their predecessors. With four generations of customers at one time getting their haircuts at our shop, we are not just a business; we are a cornerstone of the Mariemont community.

And the newest addition to the team is Ryan Vail. Former Semi-pro skateboarder, Father, Welder, and all around incredible person. Six plus years in the trade and cuts like he’s done it all his life. Make sure to give him a try.
