Tutorials I use to make icons/graphics.

- Good for fixing up dull, bluish screencaps.

- Adds a lot of green. Best to reduce the opacity of the burn layer.

- Works best with images that contain a lot of brown.

- Best for lighter images. For the second one, I stopped after step 7.

- Best with images that aren't too saturated.

- Brings out blues, greens and reds. Best with dullish screencaps.

- Works well with light images.

- Best with screencaps. Leave out the saturation layer.

- Works well with yellowish images.

Take another picture off the wall...

I don't know if this has been done before, but if it hasn't, then I have created a new meme!

List 5 words/phrases/sayings you use frequently and explain where you picked them up.

"Oh wow" - Picked it up from my friend Chan who got it from her boyfriend, Elfy.
"Oi man" - Also picked up from Chan. And I usually only use it when I'm with her.
"Dude" - From Supernatural. Can be interchanged with "man".
"(your/he/she's) a funny one!" - From my friend Sharon, I believe. Used affectionately to describe someone who's actions are unusual but funny/cute etc.
"Awesomely awesome" (and other related things) - Another one from Sharon. When "awesome" just isn't enough.

Talking to Peter from Evermore. He's so friendly and nice, and I wish I could meet him every day!
Zach's dimple. It's the most adorable thing in the world. I just love making him smile his little toothless grin. Although it won't be toothless for long!
Music. Needs no explanation.
Hanging out with my friends. We have so much fun.
Making new friends. Especially in mosh pits, like I did the other day!
Spending time with the family.
Brotherly love. Whether it be Supernatural related, like Sam vowing to save Dean and Dean hugging Sam after bringing him back from the dead; or Evermore related, like Not Who You Think You Are and group hugs before they go on stage and introducing each other and Pete using Dann as an example of how he used to be "ridiculously skinny." ♥

Evermore concert

The Evemore concert thing tonight ROCKED!

It was like an education expo/open day type thing for the university, and we got some information and I'm going to do a course there. And I only went to see Evermore lol.

Anyway, Mum and I were randomly walking around when she was like "Did you know to come around here at the right time?" and I was like "what?" being off in my own little world, and I looked closer at the people that were around and to my surprise there were the boys! I couldn't see Dann, so I went over to talk to Pete. We had quite a good little chat, and he is the nicest person!

Then I went over and talked to Dann a little. There were other people talking to him at the same time tho so I didn't get to talk to him that much. And I didn't get to give him the present I'd made him either! *woe* And I'm kicking myself cos I saw Pete and he offered to give it to him for me but I said I wanted to give it to him myself because I'm an idiot! But I think I'm gonna post it to him.

I didn't get to talk to Jon at all because he disappeared. I think he might've had a bit of a cold because when they first came on stage he sounded like his nose was a bit blocked. Poor widdle Jon.

Pete has an awesome new haircut. It's all chopped off! It looks great though. He was joking about how he doesn't recognise his shadow now. Hehe he's so cute!

I'm also quite disappointed that I didn't get any photos with them. I wanted to get one with all three of them in the same photo, so I didn't bother getting individuals when I was talking to Pete and Dann. I'm such an idiot sometimes!!

But all in all it was a great day! They absolutely rocked when they played, as they always do, and I made a few new friends!:D I didn't take too many pictures, because they were turning out blurry, but I took some videos instead which I'll cap, and post pics later on this week!

The batteries in my mouse are running out. And it keeps stuffing up and going dead...and the scroll wheel thing only decides to work occasionally. And I can't find my other ones. I think they were eaten by the evil monster who likes to fuck up peoples lives just for the fun of it. And of course I can't use my rechargeable batteries, because they're only 1.2v and I need 1.5v. GRRRRR!!!

Icon colouring tutorial

This is my first ever tutorial. Made in GIMP. Should be translatable.

Going from to

Ok so first crop your base and screen/sharpen whatever to get it looking reasonable.

Next, create a new layer, fill it with #011634 (dark blue), and set it to SCREEN.

Now create a new layer filled with #f9dbdb (light red) and set that to BURN at 50%. You can play with the opacity a bit depending on your base, but I find 50% works well with most icons.

This time create a layer filled with #ffd9a7 (orange-ish) and set it to MULTIPLY. It looks rather horrible at the moment, but it's okay, there's no sugar!

Lastly, create a new layer, fill it with #dbe9ff (light blue) and set to OVERLAY.

And that's it. Now you can add textures, text, whatever you want, really.

If the finished product looks a bit washed-out, you can put an overlay of the base under the colour layers. And if that makes it too dark, you can screen the base below it.

This has been my first ever tutorial, was a pleasure sharing it with you all.

Just thought I'd randomly write a new LJ entry. Because I can.

Hmm...so what's been happening in my life lately?...On the weekend we had the "family" over for dinner because it was Mum's birthday on Monday. It was fun. We had lasagne which I put together, and then chocolate cake that Justin cut up, and he's a butcher, so you can imagine how that turned out. And then after dinner I was lying on the couch and little Zach was sleeping on my chest. He's so cute! He'll be 4 months old next month! They grow so quickly!!

This Saturday coming up we're all going to the Ekka (Brisbane show). It's gonna be fun! I'm gonna take Zach on the Merry-Go-Round! :D And then on Saturday night I'm going to a party. Which will also be fun because parties rock!!

And speaking of parties, the Saturday after that one is my 18th party!!! Yay!! It's gonna be heaps of fun!! My birthday is actually on the Friday though, and that night me, Stef and Chan are going clubbing! And maybe some other people if they're 18 lol. It's gonna be so fun! :D

Evermore are touring again in late august/early september. But it's a regional tour and they're not coming to QLD! :'( I'm going to go to one of the concerts anyway, even if I have to travel heaps! Because they're just too good to miss! And because I'm an Evermore Whore and I'd go to every single one of their concerts if I could!!

My goodness, that was an amazing episode!! Just phenomenal! I think I'm still in shock over how...shocking it was. Heh.

It opened with one of the most amazing recaps I have ever seen!!. When "Carry on My Wayward Son" started playing, I just knew it was gonna be an amazing ep. And the recap had clips of the colt and JDM and all that awesome stuff, and my heart was going a million miles an hour.

The first scene was so heartbreakingly touching I almost cried, and my love for Dean was multiplied by a million!! Then later when he was talking to Sammy, and his voice broke when he was saying "I had one job, and I screwed it up."... *wibble* I loves the brotherlyness!!!

Dean's deal....*explodes* I have no words.

Dean's little moment with Bobby was sweet. I like Bobby. And Dean begging him not to tell Sammy about the deal...*cries*

And yay for Ellen being alive!! She's awesome!

I'm a trifle confused at the moment. So far the term "devil's trap" has been used to refer to 3 different symbols. Meh.

I kinda feel sorry for Jake, the way he was being manipulated by the Demon.

Ooh, the gate to hell. What a convenient plot device. It enables Daddy!Winchester to climb out of hell and save the day! Yay! And then a tearful "goodbye and I'm proud of you." with his boys (using no words!) and he's off to a better place.

Sam: "I kinda can't believe it, Dean. I mean our whole lives, everything has been prepping for this and now I... I kinda don't know what to say."
Dean: "I do. That was for our Mom, you son of a bitch."
*HEART EXPLODES*

And just when I'd cleaned up from my last explosion, Sammy has to go and say something adorably cute and brotherly doesn't he? Gah!

I LOVE the way the last scene reflects that last scene of the Pilot. Eric Kripke is a friggin genius. He is GOD. If I ever meet the man in the street, I will drop to my knees and start worshipping him and kissing his feet.
