Right now, San Diego politicians are increasing fees across the board while proposing PUNITIVE regulations on housing providers that will make it harder for mom-and-pop property owners to run their business.
Extreme regulations and red tape will make it nearly impossible for housing providers to cover costs and expenses, leading to a growing number of owners removing their properties from the market — meaning less housing stock at a time when it is most needed.
These proposed destructive policies include:
“Blunt rules don’t build housing. They drive small landlords out of the market and leave San Diego with fewer homes and higher prices.”
San Diego should work on smart, pro-housing policies that increase the number of units — not blunt rules that remove housing units or allow them to fall into disrepair.
