I'm completely wiped out. Just got back from my first sub job and it went pretty well. The teacher I was subbing for is a co-teacher so there wasn't too much for me to do. It was nice.

I don't know where I'll be tomorrow (hopefully I'll get a job) and it'll go as well. I'm also in the running for a long term sub job for an MD classroom with 7 students, that'll be very interesting if I get it. *crosses fingers*.

Eric is nice enough to personally update the band's MySpace page and this was posted on June 3rd (it wondered into my email a few days ago) and thought people might like to read it:

Life

Things have been really crazy and overwhelming. I've been working
really hard on the record which is why I haven't written much lately.
The album is coming along amazingly but something happened today and
I felt compelled to write it down and remind not just our friends and
fans but myself how beautiful and precious life is.

Early this morning I was riding a scooter to the gym near my house
when a car pulled out in front of me. I hit the car going 35 miles an
hour and flew over the car and landed in the street. Amazingly I did
a complete somersault over the entire car and land on my feet
standing up. After the rush of adrenaline and shock the pain in both
my legs overwhelmed me and I collapsed. I was rushed to the hospital
sure that my life was going to be permanently altered. My legs had no
feelings and there was blood coming out of all different points of my
body. After three hours of pain that I cannot describe an ER doctor
came in to inform me that not a single bone in my body was broken and
once they cleaned up my wounds and put a couple stitches in me I
could go home. Witnesses at the accident thought I had died.

Well I'm happy to say that I'm alive and well and recovering at home.
It's going to take a couple of days for the swelling in my legs to go
down so I can walk properly but there is no serious damage. Tiffin
has been here helping take care of me and my sister Tori has been
amazing.

All of this has beautifully pointed out how lucky I am and I am now
100% sure that there are angels watching over me! Today could have
been really different but fortunately for me the universe has
something planned for me. My dedication to my art, my music, and
helping make the world we live in better every single day I'm here
are paramount to this plan.

Thank you to all of my friends and to the fans of the band who's love
helped slow down time today so my body had enough time to float
through the air and land on my feet ready to face the world in the
most dedicated loving way I can!

I'm so happy that he's okay. That situation is so scary. Cars are scary when you're not in one.

I can't wait to see if any songs come out of this. He wrote "Relvation" (I'd upload it if my PC was working) after a car accident he was involved in (a drunk driver hit him in his car and his car went onto the sidewalk hit a guy on the sidewalk and severed his leg) and that is an incredible song.

1. Which is your favorite series from your list? And why?
Voyager because it my first "fandom" and is just a really great sci-fi drama.

2. If you were to pair two characters from 1 and 4, who would they be?
Probably Claire Fisher and Cyrus Lupo and not just because Jeremy's character was romantically involved with Claire. I just think that they would be an interesting match, but they probably wouldn't last and would end with Claire breaking things off. She also wouldn't be too bad with Bernard, much more of a Ted type relationship that had the potential to last. I also for some reason can picture McCoy with Claire's mom. That would be entertaining.

3. What is one thing you'd like to change about 3's plotline?
Let Amber live. Seriously must Wilson's love life be ruined for House's angst.

4. If both main characters of 2 and 5 were falling off a cliff, which one would you save?
Conviction didn't really have a main character, but I'd let Janeway fall in order to save any of them.

5. Which event was the most horrible for you in 1?
Gosh. I really don't know.

6. Which is your least favorite character of 2?
Rossi.

7. If the antagonist of 3 were to rape the main character of 1, what would you do?
I wouldn't have to do anything. Jack would have it covered.

8. What song reminds you of 5?
"Shadowplay" by Panic At the Disco for some reason, mostly just because it sounds cool and spacy.

9. Of 1, 3, and 5, which is the easiest to think about?
Voyager. I know it the best and it's comforting. My comfort fandom.

10. Are the protagonists of 2 and 4 similar?
Nate has the most in common with Brian. They both have daddy issues, but Nate ran away from his. They both have too much sex and are bad with relationships. If Conviction had run for 5 seasons Brian could have easily gone through two wives, had two kids, and died in the final season.

Okay, I really need to stop thinking about their similarities.

1.The Sound of Music

The first musical number in the film, "The Sound of Music", was the final sequence shot in Europe before the cast and crew returned to Los Angeles. It was filmed in late June and early July of 1964. Despite the warm and sunny appearance, Julie Andrews notes that she was freezing running up that mountain over and over again. Director Robert Wise has said that he had to climb one of the trees nearby to be able to overview the helicopter shoot without getting in the picture.

2.The Sixth Sense

Reputedly, Haley Joel Osment got the role of Cole Sear for one of three reasons: First, he was best for it. Second, he was the only boy at auditions who wore a tie. Third, M. Night Shyamalan was surprised when he asked Haley Joel Osment if he read his part. Osment replied, "I read it three times last night." Mandy Moore cut her hair short because she felt it suited the role; the movie producers weren't happy about it. In the end they compromised and had her wear hair extension for some of the movie and then have her having her hair cut put into the film.

6.The Village

Joaquin Phoenix made a wooden walking stick for Bryce Dallas Howard during the 19th-century preparation the actors participated in before the film. He engraved the name of her character, Ivy, on the walking stick.

10.Flatliners

Billy Mahoney's death is an in-joke to filmmakers, where the three acts of a story are frequently described as: 1) You put a character in a tree. 2) You throw rocks at him. 3) He somehow gets down from the tree.

Not Dead Yet...

The cable has just been out since Sunday, but they're sending someone down tomorrow (but of course they didn't tell us this until I called today) so I should be back on sometime tomorrow. If not I'll head back to libarary (which is where I am now) and drop another note.

It was kinda nice for the first day, but now it's just dragging. A person can only read, attempt to write, and watch DVDs for so long. Brian is worried that Connie will hate him forever and that Megan will hook up with Nick again, Jack wants to become the Intrim DA already, Val wants to go out with Riley and banter with her partners, and Claire just wants to meet new people and sleep with that guy I've been promising her for weeks. Nadia is buried under paperwork and Christina wants to know when she can go back to work.

I miss you guys!!!

And would the ghost who hid my Sims2 Seasons CD please return it because I'd like to play it now that I have a new shiny monitor.

“Never been there myself. Always wanted to. My father was stationed there during the war. He survived only to die ten years later in Korea,” Chris didn’t know what to say or even if he should say anything, “So what made you leave paradise?

“I needed a change,” Was Chris’s simple explanation even through the situation that drew him eastward was anything, but simple.

“I think you’ll get that here,” Carey got and headed to his office door, “You were on homicide, right?”

There was a slight glint in the captain’s eyes, “I think you’ll find vice to be quite different,”

Brian's methods for dealing with stress had never exactly been the most healthy. Gambling, sex, and alcohol to name a few. Now, however things had changed. He was older, maybe even a little a more mature. He was husband to the most beauiful women in the world and the father of the cutest little girl ever known to man. Now, his stress relieving activites consited of a gentle rocking back and forth at 2 am and he had never felt more relaxed.

“Do I know you?” Colby knew he was being blunt, but he’d been stuck in the Dallas airport for the past three hours and for four hours before that he’d been on a plane and it just happened to be Christmas Eve, so he wasn’t exactly thinking clearly and it was really starting to bug him that he had no idea where he knew the girl sitting across from him from.

“Um,” He could tell that his question caught her off guard and a little bit of red seemed to be creeping onto her freckled cheeks, “I don’t know,” Colby began to wonder if there was any way he could make the last few moments disappear, there had to be better pick up lines, “Where are you from?”

Now he was the one caught off guard. He had expected her to just smile nicely at him like he was crazy and go back to her book, but maybe she vaguely recognized him in the same way he did, but he doubted that it was home where he recognized her from. Bird City was a little too small of a town to just vaguely recognize someone from, “Iowa,”

“Wisconsin,”

“Where did you go to college?” Now, Ohio State was a place where he’d vaguely recognize someone from. He just hoped that she wasn’t one of those girls he had met at some drunken party and had wronged in some way.

“Yale,” That was impressive.

“Ohio State,” Oh well, the lack of sleep was probably tricks on his eyes because he highly doubted that he recognized her from the Army or FBI

“Did you know Kenny Murray?” Her face was starting to get a little red.

“Yeah, he was one of my buddies. We shared a house along with some other guys for a few quarters,” Now that she mentioned the guy he remembered that he had a girlfriend who went to Yale and had come down a few weekends, but he couldn’t really remember what that friend looked like. Then again most of his college weekends were more than a little blurry.

“I think I may have thrown up on you,” Her cheeks were now bright red and Colby could remember her a little clearer.

“Are you any better with shots?”

“Not really,” She giggled a little and he realized that she’s just as cute now as she was then, only more sober now.

“You know what Murray is up to up now?” After his five years in the Army he’d lost touch with most of his college buddies, something that he regretted, “You two still together?”

“No, we broke up because I wanted to go to law school,” That actually made sense, Kenny was stupid enough to dump an intelligent and beautiful girl because she interfered with his old school ideas, “But I have heard that he’s married, works as a banker, and has a completely boring life,”

Colby laughed.

“So what do you do?” She had a beautiful smile and seemed to be flirting with him, something he was enjoying immensely, “I’m sure it’s very interesting,”

She had no idea, “I’m with the FBI now, based in LA,” She nodded as if she had been expecting something like that and he decided to leave out the Army part, it just didn’t feel necessary, “So what type of law do you practice?”

“I’m a prosecutor at the Manhattan’s DA’s office,” There went that one, not that Colby had thought he had a chance with her.

“Do you like it there?”

She shrugged, “It’s interesting,”

“Flight 128 to Des Moines now boarding at Gate 24,” At last he could out of the damned airport, but he found himself wanting to stay and continue conversation with this beautiful freckled faced girl, but he gathered up his stuff anyways. His mother would kill him if he missed their ritual Christmas Eve dinner. He gathered up his one carry-on and somewhat reluctantly headed off to his flight.

“Here,” She handed him a piece a paper, with a shy smile, on which she had written her name and phone number. Christina Finn. He had always liked the name Christina, “If you’re ever in New York,”

“Thanks,” He smiled and knew that this was one number he intended to keep.

“Merry Christmas,” She wished him.

“Merry Christmas,” He wished her as he left.
