So me saying I should be on here more didn't work did it?!?! Oh well!!

how is everyone? good i hope!

So....... what have i been up to? not too much really, working as usual, that's probably why i don't have much time to be on here, i used to have a lunch break for that kind of thing!

- Well, i am still super excited for Supergirl! i think it's going to be fantastic. i've seen pictures of her lifting up an ambulance and it made my fangirl heart squee! :D

- Have i posted about The 100 before? i can't remember! well i watched it all a few months ago and..... well it's a little crap, but also kinda cool, i don't know!! but god Octavia!! Octavia, Octavia! i can't get over you!! :D

- Anyone getting or got any of those mystery boxes that seem to be all the rage at the minute? well, i have relented and have been on a mystery box buying binge! lol!! although i shouldn't laugh really because they aren't that cheap (especially getting them sent to the UK) and i suspect a fair amount of the stuff in them is crap, but anyway! i got the last Loot Crate mainly because they kept advertising it with a pic of wonder woman so i hoped there would be a nice female centric item in there! well there was a wonder woman poster at least! and there was a very nice batman vinyl figure. I have also ordered one called nerd block/comic block as they do mainly comics in it and i do love me some comics! i ordered the Marvel Collector Corps one mainly because the box has lady Thor on it and i'm hoping (foolishly im sure) for a lady thor item! and i have just ordered the Comicconbox which in the next box is meant to have a variant of harley quinn's first appearance! so i'm looking forward to getting those and hopefully there wont be too much crap in them! :D

- I have been seeing a few bits online about a film called Jenny's wedding, it has Katherine Heigl and i've never minded her! But the first post i saw about it said something like "i always wanted a Katherine Heigl romcom but with lesbians and now i have it" and i think alot of people thought that's what the film was going to be and when i wasn't were really offended or upset, but i watched it and really quite liked it!! no it isn't a romcom it's a drama. It is more about how her coming out and wanting to get married like her brother and sister affects her and her family and i think it does that well!! and *spoiler alert* it has a happy ending!! :0 y'konw i would have liked more about jenny and her girlfriend kitty and it would have been nice for kitty to have said a bit more, but i still really liked it!!

- looks like Womenverse has closed which is a shame, but slightly inevitable due to the massive lack of any news! i really enjoyed it while it lasted. it's probably why im not on here as much too, as i don't have to come and posted stuff!

- The diet i started at the beginning of the year is still going strong! i have lost over a stone and i haven't been doing any extra excersiie, not yet anyway!

- anyone watch sense8? SOOOOO GOOD! :D

- I was going to write about my job and how at the minute i am finding working around only men quite exhasting and how when i have one bad day i am made to feel bad about it for a week and yet i NEVER get an apology when they have a bad day, but i don't really have the energy to get into it at the minute!!

Hello LiveJournal! it's been a while! *waves sheepishly*

I haven't posted on here for ages and i'd really like to get back into it (Tumblr is a lonely place and also a ground for bullying) i was thinking i might do another more up to date "about me" type meme thing at some point and try maybe to post at least once a week!!

But that's not why i'm here, im here because of supergirl!!!! oh yes!! i am over excited about it! OVER EXCITED!! i'm like a child!!

I watched the first episode of Supergirl again (yes again) and I still love it!! I nearly wet myself when the 6 minute first look was released and I nearly wet myself again when I heard the first episode had been leaked.
As no one I know seems to be at all interested in it I’m writing down what I think, just to get it out!
So here’s what I thought!

- I love Kara
- I love the pushing up of her glasses when she lands on the roof!
- Love the super hearing
- Love the flying
- Love the heat vision (and the after effect)
- Love the funny red boots at the bank robbery
- Love the flying
- Love the cape
- Love it!
- Superman dropped his cousin off at the Danvers’ and never went back? Never checked on her?
- How did those poison darts get through her skin?
- How does the DEO know so much about Kara and her pod. And about Fort Ras (I don’t know how you spell that!)? How did they know about Kara being Alex’s sister?
- Hank is a bit of a dick
- Not feeling Winn
- Why only say ‘Superman’ once?
- How does the DEO analyse the axe the bad guy has?
- The whole “I’m not gay” bit…….. you know in the comics she kinda falls for a woman, kinda sorta, okay so she fell for a flying horse looking person Comet who is actually a woman who transforms into Comet! So y’know as a story that could be explored!
- Is it part of the tv universe or the movie universe? Because if it’s tv then superman has been flying around for 20 years and no one has mentioned it. If it’s the film universe then does that mean no cross overs! :( (although if it’s the tv universe they can cast their own supes!)

What I’d like to see in the series:

- Flashbacks to when she was younger with Helen Slater and Dean Cain (they need to be in it more!) learning about her powers
- More nervous Kara when she’s around Jimmy
- Can we have Kara be friends with some women? Not just her sister? Not just Winn? How about a geek from the Deo (kinda like Simmons in agents of shield)
- Can they explain how Kara and Winn know each other? Do they just work together? The “super friends” bit makes it sounds like they’ve known each other for a while
- Can we have Kara doing normal everyday superhero things like help with car crashes or cats up trees? Not just all the evil aliens?

so, that's it, now to decide whether to post this on tumblr.........

birthday and eventual return

I haven't posted on here since the beginning of November! oops! I don't know, i just havent really got that much to say! alot of the stuff i used to squee about and post about was fandom stuff and ,ost of those shows have finished and the fandom has mainly moved over to Tumblr (which, yes, i have been on alot! but i still don't like it very much! as 7of9 once said "everyones entitled to their own small opinion" and no-one allowed to say that they are wrong and/or stupid without getting attacked. It's far too much like being in school surrounded by bully windbags who like the sound of their own voices too much!! but hey, that's just my own small opinion!!)

- anyway, thanks to endeni for wishing me a happy birthday. I was actually thinking about whether to post on here today or not as i usually do a "happy birthday to me" post with lots of pretty, but i don't really save pics like i used to! (thanks again tumblr) but her birthday wishes spurred me on!!

- things ive been watching: agent carter (awesome), gotham (a little behind but loving), crisis (not too sure yet, could get repetitive) Arrow (still catching up on season 2, but still like it) call the midwife (still one of my faves!) jane the virgin (a little behind but enjoying it) The Flash (really liking it, proper superhero stuff) Dollhouse (started watching it and only a few eps in so we'll see)

- this year i'm trying to read more, i love reading LOVE IT! but i don't do enough of it recently!!

- went on a diet about a month ago and it's going okay, cut out alot of sugar and i'm only weighing myself once a week so i don't get disheartened! (although i am having cake today, it is my birthday after all!!)

-right dinner's up so i'm off!! :D

Gail looked the detective up and down suspiciously, that question always got her heckles up "yeah"

"Why would a Peck transfer to GCPD?"

"It wasn’t a choice" Gail said looking back at her paperwork

Renee picked up on the new officers tone "Wow, this is quite a punishment" the detective laughed

"That’s what happens when you piss off my mother" Gail didn’t look up

“I’ll remember that” Montoya said as she put her coat on

"When you finish that, I’m meeting some friends at the bar down the street if you want to come, I know you're new to the city....."

When the detective had left, Gail thought about the offer, she didn’t know anyone in Gotham yet and Montoya seemed nice enough and she wanted to get to know a few of her colleagues. Maybe she’d check out the bar.

Dream

Holly rolled onto her side and laid her arm over Gail’s chest, then fell back into a deep sleep.

She doesn’t know how long it was before something woke her up, but she noticed that she hadn’t moved at all.

As consciousness filled her she could hear uneven breathing and noticed Gail twitching a little. This caught her attention, her arm was rising and falling rapidly on Gail’s chest and Gail’s hand moved as if too get Holly’s arm off her.

“Nah…..hhnnn” Gail twitched again and seemed to try to move away

Holly moved her arm off Gail and sat up, she was starting to worry as Gail was getting more and more distressed in her sleep “Gail…” Holly said softly rubbing Gail’s arm

Gail woke with a slight start

“Hey, you okay?”

Gail panted for a minute “I’m fine” she dismissed, got out of bed and left the room

Hope

Holly knocked on the bathroom door “Gail? You’ve been in there a while, I hope….. are you okay?”

When there was no answer Holly opened the door slowly. Gail was sitting on the edge of the bath looking at the floor still catching her breath, she didn’t look up.

“Honey…?” Holly said worrying,

“I said I’m fine” Gail said harshly still not looking at Holly

Holly knelt in front of Gail and placed her hand on her cheek “You’re lying” she said softly

Gail closed her eyes and relished the feel of Holly’s hand “Go back to bed…… I’ll be there soon” she lied

Holly didn’t move straight away, but she knew Gail wasn’t going to talk to her so she slowly stood and went back to bed.

She laid in bed waiting for Gail to return, she’s not sure how long she waited but she eventually fell asleep.

Hungry

When Holly woke Gail still wasn’t in bed, she got up and looked for her, eventually finding her in the kitchen

Gail looked up from what she was doing “Are you hungry? I’m doing toast”

Holly nodded and leaned against the counter opposite Gail and watched her make breakfast. She silently handed Holly her plate then casually sat at the table as if nothing had happened last night.
Holly sat opposite Gail “Did you come back to bed last night?”

Gail said nothing as she took a bite of toast

This was strange even for Gail “Will you tell me what’s going on?”

“It’s nothing…” Gail dismissed “I just had a nightmare, that’s all”

“That was more than just a nightmare…… Please Gail I’m worried about you” Holly reached across the table

Gail stood “There’s nothing to worry about, it happened before we met…” She hadn’t meant to say that

Shocked

“What happened before we met? ……. Gail for God’s sake, please…”

Gail sighed, she didn’t like discussing this at all, but she couldn’t get away with not telling Holly now

“About a year before we met…. I was doing some undercover work and…. I was attacked and abducted.....by a crazy serial killer….”

“WHAT?” Holly startled Gail “Why wouldn’t…… Why didn’t you tell me about this?”

“It’s not something you can casually bring up, Holly, and I really don’t like talking about it”

There was silence for a while as Holly took in the information

“And that’s what your nightmare was about?”

Gail nodded “He tied me down to a table, blindfolded me, injected me with ….. something…..that’s the part that I always dream about ….”

“Do you get these nightmares often?”

“Not as much recently …… not since….” Gail pointed at Holly who smiled “You make it better”

“Sounds good, I might get one too”

“You can’t get one you’re a grown up!” Elspeth protested

“As a grown up I can do what I want” Gail smiled “What about you mommy? You getting one too? We could have a competition”

Holly smiled as they drove “You’re a dork” she laughed
“I think you’re just scared you won’t win, what do you think kiddo?”

Elspeth laughed “I’m going to beat you both, I’m awesome at colouring”

Gail really didn’t want to be standing here keeping people out of the crime scene, she wanted to be in the crime scene watching her girlfriend do her job.

She rarely got to see Holly work and the thought of her inside doing her sciency thing while she stood here watching disinterested passers-by was irritating her.

This irritation wasn’t helped by the sound of a commotion inside and suddenly being pushed from behind, so much so she nearly fell over.

“What the f...?” Gail stopped herself swearing

Whoever it was was chased down the street by two officers from inside.

When she heard people shouting for paramedics, she ran inside to find a crowd including Traci standing over someone gripping their side with blood everywhere.

It took Gail a second to realise it was Holly. For a moment she was unable to move as she processed the horrific information.

“Stop the……bleeding” Holly croaked out “press…”

“Stop talking” Gail commanded as she knelt next to her and pressed down on Holly’s hand that was over the bleeding wound

“WHERE THE HELL IS THE PARAMEDIC” Gail shouted “You’ll be fine, you’ll be fine” she repeated as Holly stared at her

The paramedics practically pushed Gail out of the way, but she watched everything they did over their shoulders.

It felt like hours were passing as they worked on Holly, Gail’s worry and her anger increased as she circled the paramedics and Holly. All she wanted to do was scream, she should have been inside watching the crime scene, she could have stopped him, saved her from this. What would she do if anything happened to Holly?

As she was taken to the ambulance Gail leaned over Holly

“I will find him, I will find him and I will make him pay”

Hatchet

Gail paced the hospital corridor, the more she paced the angrier she got. She had tried earlier to wash the blood off her hands, Holly's blood, but she kept seeing bits she'd missed, she started to fear the worst. The doctors weren’t telling her anything “Family only” they said. Luckily Oliver pulled the police card and they at least told them she was in surgery. Gail wasn’t sure that quelled her anger or fear

The man who had done this, who had killed a woman and now stabbed Holly was still out there doing god knows what and she was feeling useless

But While Oliver was getting a drink Gail’s radio caught her attention “…of the suspect on Dupont street near the subway station. Approach with caution, may have a weapon”

She was no use pacing up and down so she quickly decides to find the bastard who did this.

Kickass

Gail found the suspect by the subway station, she knew it was him from his clothes and the fact that he was covered in blood, possibly Holly’s

Gail pulled her weapon “Get down on the ground”

He just laughed while he wrung his hands

“Down on the ground” Gail anger started to rise

He laughed again

“NOW” Gail could here hear blood pumping in her ears. How dare he just laugh, Holly could die and he’s laughing?

He laughed and looked at Gail from the corner of his eye, then suddenly lunged at her.

Gail quickly hit him in the head with her gun, he stumbled and turned towards her, again laughed and lunged

Gail hit him again

“Fucking” punch “piece” punch “of” punch “SHIT”

“GAIL” someone shouted, but Gail didn’t hear

Defining moment

The suspect fell against a bench with a smile, Gail couldn’t believe he laughed again, she saw red and pressed her gun against his head. That wiped the smile of his bruised and bleeding face

“GAIL, stop”

She was gritting her teeth so much her jaw hurt “bastard” she spat
“Gail” a hand touched her arm “Don’t do this, Holly wouldn’t want you to do this” Oliver tried to calm her “I know holly’s your friend…”

“She’s more than that” she confessed

Oliver paused “She wouldn’t want you to kill him”

“What if I lose her, because of him?”

“You won’t lose her because of him, you’ll lose her if you kill him. Holly’s not going to want to be with a killer”

He was right, what would Holly think if she did this? She was a doctor, she could save lives, how could she love someone who took them?

Groggy

It was the next day and a lot had happened, but one of those things had not been Holly waking up. She still layed on the hospital bed, tubes coming out of her and since leaving the police station Gail hadn’t left her side.

She’d tried to sleep in the uncomfortable hospital chair but every time she closed her eyes she saw things she didn’t want to see; Holly laying on the floor covered in blood, her own hands covered in Holly’s blood and then covered in that man’s blood, but also his smiling face.

All she did was worry all night, but that worry vanished when she heard a familiar voice

“Hey honey” came a groggy voice

Gail stood and smiled “Hey” she touched Holly’s face and kissed her hard

Holly smiled “No uniform?” she said quietly

“Erm …. I may or may not have been suspended”

Gail just held her hand up to silence Holly, then she knelt down in front of her, Holly’s face dropped

“I….. I don’t do this kind of thing well, as you know, so I’m just going to ask you if you would marry me?”

Elspeth’s eyes widened "NO DON'T" she cried "I wanna do it" she smiled and quickly ran upstairs

Neither Gail or holly knew what she was doing but five minutes later their young daughter came carefully down the stairs dressed in her bright green dinosaur onesie

"This is gonna be AWESOME!!" She screamed

“Where are you going?” Gail asked sounding tired and sad and instantly pressed herself against Holly, buried her head in her neck and wrapping her arms around her girlfriend’s waist. Holly held Gail tight

Gail stepped closer “nothing”

Holly wasn’t convinced

Gail closed in on Holly’s neck, slowly kissing her way down. She slowly unbuttoned Holly’s blouse and kissed even further down.

As Gail got to the valley between her breasts Holly breathe caught. Holly had no idea what was going on and she wasn’t expecting this, but she really didn’t mind at all.

Gail got lower and lower and as their eyes met Gail stopped, pressed her lips to Holly’s stomach and blew. The raspberry sound was probably the loudest Holly had heard.

Gail stood, smiled widely and walked away laughing

Holly laughed as she worked “It isn’t my morgue”

“Well you’re the only one I see there, but then you are the only one I see wherever we are, it’s like everyone else disappears when you’re around……… I think you did something to me…….. are you a witch?”

“Some people may think so, but no I’m just a doctor, come on let’s go to bed” Holly had walked over to Gail and put her hand out for Gail

“A luuuuuuvvvvvv doctor”Gail laughed

Title: Dinner Date part 2

Spoilers: For the end of season 5/Gail and Holly’s story
Summary: A follow up to part 1, the evening was about talking after all!

“So, yesterday when you said you had a ’thing’ was that….?” Holly sort of asked

“That was a meeting with the adoption people and Sophie” Gail answered while trying to figure out how to attack the cupcake in her hand.

"Oh" Holly watched her turn the cake around in her hand as she peeled the paper off and start eating the bottom of the cake. She was quite relieved, she’d thought Gail had a date last night, but now that she knew the truth she had a completely different thing to worry about. Having children was not something that had ever really crossed Holly’s mind, not because she didn’t like them, but because her career had always been her priority.

They sat in silence eating cake and Holly thought about what Gail had just told her, she couldn’t help but smile as Gail finished eating the bottom of the cake only leaving a thin layer of cake topped with a mass of icing. To Holly’s surprise Gail only took two bites to demolish the icing.

“That was a nice cupcake, huh?” Holly said as she placed her plate on the coffee table in front of where they were sitting

Gail hummed her agreement as she sucked some icing off her fingers “hmmm, the icing’s the best bit though, the rest always seems bland”

“You aren’t a fan of cupcakes? Why am I not surprised” Holly laughed

“They’re too …… frilly for me” Gail said waving her fingers “Give me a doughnut any day”

Holly laughed again “Really? I didn’t take you for a stereotype”

Gail frowned “What? Liking doughnuts is not a stereotype”

“Of a cop? Really?” Holly asked raising her eyebrows

“Oh… Yeah…….. Well I like cookies too….” Gail shook her head and laughed, why she’d forgotten about cops and doughnuts she didn’t know, obviously her mind was elsewhere.

Holly got up and took the empty plates to the sink and stood looking out of the window for a moment. Gail watched her wondering what she was looking at, but before she had an opportunity to ask, Holly turned around and leaned against the counter

“Well, tonight was all about talking so…” Holly started

“Hey, that stuff at the Penny….” Gail interrupted standing up and slowly walking over to Holly she wanted to try to explain “I know I shouldn’t have just walked out and I know that I should have answered your calls…… like I said I’m a brat, it’s just …. I always felt…. Feel that I can be myself with you and not feel judged, not feel like I have to change who I am to be with you, that's why when you didn't defend me with Lisa......"

Holly shook her head "Lisa is the most judgmental person I know, you heard her talking about my job that night and that's constant with her, I got tired of explaining myself to her years ago, that's why I didn't say anything, it's none of her business, but that doesn't mean I agreed with what she said, if I had a problem with cops, why would I work with them all day every day? Why would I have spent that entire day with you in my office? And why would I have gone on dates with you: a known cop?” Holly smiled “But…. That’s not what I wanted to talk to you about”

Gail raised her eyebrows in surprise “Oh, okay…”

Holly took a breath “I’ve accepted a new job……”

“You got a new job?” Gail interrupted smiling

“In San Francisco….” Holly finished with a slight wince

There was silence, Gail pushed her lips together and slightly nodded her head, she looked at Holly and with a small and angry smile turned and walked towards the door.

Holly walked quickly through the kitchen to cut Gail off before she could reach the coat stand “Gail?........GAIL..... Stop. Don't run out again"

Gail stopped "why not?"

Holly looked at her questioningly "Because we have to talk about this"

"What is there to talk about? You've already made your decision, you've accepted the job......" Gail stepped forward to reach for her coat.

Holly took her arm "Gail, don't be like this..... I was.."

"Don't be like what, Holly? Annoyed? ....... What was all this about, huh?" Gail asked waving her arm at the dinner table "What was yesterday at the station about if you knew you were leaving? Did you just want to get my hopes up?"

“No of course not, that’s not what this was….” Holly said

“Then what?” Gail said angrily

“I was going to ask you to come with me…” Holly stated

Gail laughed and shook her head “How could I possibly come with you? I have a job here and ..... Sophie..."

"I didn't know about Sophie until 20 minutes ago Gail” Holly shook her head and stepped away in frustration, she let out an annoyed breath “Leave if you want to Gail and we can forget about us, or you could stay and we can talk about this like adults”

Holly let go of her arm, walked away and sat on the sofa, Gail watched her and took a step closer. She really wasn’t expecting the evening to end like this, she’d thought Holly might be put off by her trying to adopt Sophie, but she never thought Holly would be relatively okay with her adopting but be moving away, FAR away instead. Why was it the people she cared about always left? It’s what Nick had done, twice, and now Holly. At least Holly had warned her in advance though, but what could she possibly do to make her stay?

She walked closer to the sofa slowly, trying to think of something, anything that might make Holly stay, but she was coming up empty. As she got to the opposite end of the sofa from where Holly was sitting she stopped, Holly looked up at her. Gail hadn’t seen Holly angry like this before. It was a little scary.

Gail opened her mouth to say something but didn’t, she started to shift uncomfortably and looked away from Holly, she put her hands on her hips and the straight away put them down, she looked at Holly who was giving her a confused look.

“Are you going to sit down or are you just going to stand there and fidget?” Holly asked

Gail pressed her lips together and shook her head. Holly rolled her eyes and slumped back in her seat with a huff.

“Look Gail, I felt the same as you, I didn’t think I was going to see you again. I didn’t think you wanted anything to do with me again. I applied for and accepted the job before you came to see me with that thumb, and then when you asked me for drinks and……. I knew we couldn’t be just friends and I knew I wouldn’t be able to get over you if I kept seeing you at work…” Holly shook her head and opened her mouth to speak again but was interrupted

“Please don’t go” Gail said quietly

Holly looked up surprised, that wasn’t the kind of thing Gail said, she was a little shocked

“I don’t want….” To lose you again “…you to go” Gail said still standing at the end of the sofa. She wasn’t sure where that had come from. She didn’t really do honest truth, but there it was and she couldn’t take it back.

“Gail….” Holly got up and stood in front of Gail and cupped her face in her hands. Gail looked her straight in the eye.

“Please” Gail all but whispered.

Holly leaned forward and kissed Gail softly.

Summary: What I think would or could have happened at Gail and Holly’s dinner date. Set and written after Rookie Blue episode 510

Gail stood in front of Holly's front door ready to knock. She was far more nervous than she thought she'd be, after all this is what she wanted, it's why she had bared her soul to Holly a few weeks ago, okay maybe not bared her soul but she had certainly admitted some things to Holly that she hadn't even done with Nick and she was going to marry him, all Holly had done was say goodnight and walk away.

She took a deep breath, looked down at herself to make sure she looked okay and knocked on the door.

After a couple of seconds Holly opened the door, she had her hair pulled back and her glasses on top of her head. She greeted Gail with a wide smile

"Hey"

"Hey" Gail replied

Holly laughed a little "hey, come in" she said moving so Gail could walk passed her. she knew lots of people said 'hey' to each other, but her and Gail saying it to each other all the time and now them saying it like nothing had changed just made her happy.

As they walked into the kitchen Gail raised a box she was holding in her hand "You said you had wine so I bought some cupcakes" she shrugged and placed them on the counter

"Cupcakes?" Holly looks surprised, she didn't think cupcakes would be Gail's style. She started to open the box

"Yeah, I saw them in a bakery when I was on patrol the other day..." Gail said somewhat absently as she walked away from the kitchen to where the dining table was laid out for two.

"Erm..." Holly looked at Gail quizzically. Gail turned towards her

"Oh yeah, that one’s mine" she said before Holly could even say anything

Holly smiled as she looked back at one of the cakes in the box that had at least four finger scoops taken out of the icing. "Couldn’t wait huh?" Holly folded the lid back on the box and put it out of the way as Gail shrugged

"Do you want to take your coat off?" Holly asked as she passed Gail to put a huge bowl of salad on the table

Gail looked down, she really must be nervous. "Sure" she said as she took it off and went to hang it up by the front door

"You okay? You seem a little distracted, was it a tough day?” Holly asked

“No not really, normal day….” Gail said walking back to the table. She couldn’t take her mind off how this dinner could go in a number of different directions.

"You remembered that I'm not a woodland animal, right?" Gail said pointing at the salad

Holly smiled again and laughed, she really wasn’t over her ex. "I know, that's why I did a bit of experimenting. Sit" she gestured to the table.

Gail gave her a sceptical look but sat anyway "The words food and experimenting should not be in the same sentence" she said as she watched Holly place a large bowl of.... Something on the table. Gail looked at it for a while desperately trying to figure out what it was "okay I give up, what is that meant to be?"

Holly look slightly offended as she sat opposite Gail "It’s jambalaya"

“Did you drop it?”

Holly tilted her head at Gail “It’s meant to look like that”

“Really?”

“Just eat it” Holly said spooning some onto Gail’s plate, she did the same with her own plate and added some salad too.

Gail took a bite and made a face that holly took to mean it was good, she smiled and took a bite herself "So, I don't know whether we should talk now or later or..?"

Gail looked up from her food, swallowed and set her fork down, she took a few seconds and then said "The stuff that happened in The Penny ....." Gail started "That..... There's" she took a breath "..... I don't know if you heard about an incident a month or so ago ..... There was a woman who got shot in her laundry room...."

"Yeah I did hear about it, I heard you found her"

"I did....." Gail looked down at her food and took a deep breath "I also found her daughter...... Sophie"

Holly nodded and watched Gail, she wasn't sure why she was telling her this

"Since her mother died, I've been spending time with her... Sophie.... And she's a great kid y'know, a lot of fun, quite cheeky" Gail smiled at the thought "she doesn't have any family who can take care of her......"

"That's terrible, the poor girl"

Gail nodded with a sad smile "I didn't think I was going to see you again Holly, not after I.... Said all that stuff at the station and you just.... You just walked away...."

"Gail I.."

"I've been making plans" Gail interrupted

"Plans?" Holly frowned

"To ..... adopt Sophie" Gail was gripping her hands under the table waiting for what she had just told Holly to sink in.

"Adopt... " Holly said quietly almost to herself "Gail.....?" She frowned

"Look, I know this could ....... This could be the breaker, that's why the other stuff doesn't really matter, the penny stuff..."

"Gail that is a big .... BIG step....."

Gail hummed her agreement as she bit down on her bottom lip. She could see the wheels turning in Holly's mind as they sat in silence for quite a while.

Holly shook her head to herself and took a sip of her wine, she looked at Gail and smiled a little then looked at her food still thinking

"Soooo, is this it?" Gail asked not knowing what Holly must be thinking. She didn't want this to end, she didn't want to have to try and forget about Holly again, but she wouldn’t be budged on the adoption

Holly shook her head "I don't know Gail, this ..... Isn’t something ........" She carried on shaking her head "The long haired Officer Peck I met in the woods would never have even thought about adopting a child...."

"I know, but I've changed since then...... You've changed me......"

Holly met Gail's eyes and could see the sincerity in them.

"I can see that......" Holly reached her hand across the table towards Gail "But honey, do you really think this is a good idea? How much experience do you have with children?"

"As much as anyone" Gail answered defensively "I used to baby sit when I was younger and....."

"Babysit?" Holly shook her head "Gail that's like saying you want to join law enforcement because you used to play cops and robbers as a child. Your job is not 9 to 5, you have shifts and.... And it's dangerous"

"You think I don't know that? Do you think I haven't thought about that? It's just a job Holly, if the adoption people don't like it then I can get a transfer or .... get another job" Gail stood up "look thanks for the food, but I didn't come here for advise...." She started to walk away. Holly quickly stood and grabbed Gail's arm

"Gail wait.... You would be willing to leave the police force?"

"Yeah" Gail shrugged "it's just a job"

"It's your family’s legacy..." Holly realised just how serious Gail must be if she was willing to break the Peck family tradition for this child....

Gail shrugged again "It's that or a kids future, Sophie deserves more than being passed around foster homes for the next 10 years, she’s been through enough already and if I can help her and give her a better chance ....." Gail moved to leave again

“Don’t go” Holly smiled “at least stay for cake”

Gail had forgotten about the cakes she’d bought “Okay”

Holly moved into the kitchen, got out two plates and placed two of the cupcakes on them. She walked past Gail to the sofa, placed Gail’s cake on the coffee table in front of it and sat at one end. She looked up at Gail expectantly and smiled. Gail found it quite difficult to resist Holly normally, but Holly and a cake meant she could do nothing but follow her and sit down.

I was going to go with someone from Despicable me, but have decided to go with Elsa from Frozen

A character you relate to:
I kind of relate to Gail Peck from Rookie Blue. I'm not that good with people.

A character you love but fandom hates:
There doesn't seem to be all that much love for Charlie From Revolution. Not as an individual anyway (she seems to have to be part of a pairing to be liked!!)

Your favourite character of color:
Joan Watson from Elementary is a great character (and could be a very good answer to the above question) she is a brilliant person in her own right and doesn't put up with any of sherlock's shit!! :D

Your favourite sci-fi character:
I do have a lot, but i'm going to have to go with Seven Of Nine from Voyager!! (I could also use her for the answer to the character you relate to question!)

A Crossover Fic for Womenverse challenge 3: crossover roulette

Crossover between Irisa from Definace and Tracy Nash from Rookie Blue

Irisa flung open the door to the Law Keepers office and strode in. She was about to walk around the main desk to take a seat in the corner but stopped in her tracks when she saw a strange woman sitting at the desk.

Nolan followed Irisa in “…… And you can’t avoid the question by walking away from me” He also stopped after seeing the woman. She seemed to have made herself comfortable

“Oh, Can we help you?” Nolan asked as Irisa just stared at the stranger

“I’m looking for Tommy” She answered

“He’s just –“

“Why?” Irisa asked in her normal suspicious way, cutting Nolan off

The stranger stood up and smiled slightly. As she stood Irisa moved her hand to one of her blades.

“I’m his cousin Tracy Nash, I thought I’d surprise him” Tracy said

Irisa looked her up and down suspiciously and Nolan was about to speak when Tommy came into the office.

“Tracy?” He said seeing her and smiled widely, Irisa hadn’t seen that smile since she’d returned to Defiance and she’d missed it

“Tommy” They rushed towards each other and hugged then talked for a while.

Irisa watched them for a moment and then sat in the corner and started sharpening her blades. She looked up at Tommy and his cousin every so often as they talked at the desk, he looked happy.

Nolan had left a while ago to see the mayor at the Need/Want, not that he had said that was where he was going, but Irisa knew it was.

When someone came into the office and said there had been a fight in the market Tommy told Tracy to stay in the office.

“I can take care of myself remember Tommy?” Tracy had protested

“I know, but you’re here to visit not to work” Tommy had said “Irisa, stay here with Tracy”

Irisa had no plans to leave the office anyway so didn’t protest at her new baby sitting duties, she just carried on sharpening her blade on her whet stone.

Tracy looked around the room but found it far harder than Irisa to ignore the other person in the room “So, Irisa, you’re the Irathient girl Tommy was going out with a few months ago?”

Irisa didn’t look up.

“He said you disappeared, without a word…………”

Still Irisa said nothing

“He always seemed happy in his letters when he spoke about you……….. but it seems to me you don’t care about Tommy at all”

This made Irisa look up sharply “You know nothing about me”

“No I don’t, but leaving without any explanation and staying away for six, seven months…..”

“It was for his own good” Irisa interrupted only paying attention to her blades again

“How do you figure that?” Tracy asked

Irisa gripped the blade in her hand and looked up again, she wanted to tell her to go to hell, that she couldn’t stay, she literally had no choice but to leave, it was the deal she had made to save Nolan’s life and he couldn’t live without Nolan, if she didn’t do as she was told the choice would be taken away from her. But instead she stood up and walked out. As she left the Law Keeper’s office, the vision of Irzu was leaning up against a wall smirking.

“We could deal with her, if you wanted” Irzu said

Irisa rolled her eyes and walked away.

It was about twenty minutes before Tommy came back to the office. He looked around “What did you do?” he asked Tracy after seeing Irisa wasn’t there

“Me? I didn’t do anything”

Tommy tilted his head “Did you start with the detective thing again?”

Tracy shrugged “That is my job”

Thought i would make a post to say Hi to new people on my flist! HI!

i have been lucky enough to have a 3 day weekend!! woo hoo!! unfortunatly i'm back at work tomorrow, although i do actually love my job, so it's not all that bad. but i've had lots of thing i should have done and haven't really!!

- I have started watching the new season of Orange is the New Black, i left it a while so that i didn't get too psycho about it. but i'm glad i did, it is a great show!

- I have been looking up the guest list for London Film and Comic Con in July and it is GOOOODDDD! Dina Mayer (Dizzy in starship troopers, BARBARA GORDON in Birds of Prey and a Romulan in Star trek nemesis) Terri Farrel (Dax in DS9) Helen Slater (SUPERGIRL!) Stephanie Leonidas (Irisa in Defiance) and Summer Glau (river tam in firefly, Cameron in TSCC) are the main people i'm going for. i have to get a photo with dax so that i then have photo's with my faves. i'm thinking about getting comics signed by Helen Slater and Dina Mayer. No matter what, it will be awesome!! and i'm super excited

- I'm deciding whether to or not to go to star trek destination london, although i think i'm pretty much 85% sure i will go! i went to the first one and loved it!

and none of that has anything to do with anything, but there ya go!! :D lol!!

Fanfic: Split Decision

Summary: This fic is inspired by the miniscule amount of this pairing to be shown in promo’s and behind the scenes shows before season 5 of Rookie Blue starts. This is the bathroom scene as it could be!

“What are you doing?” Holly said in a slightly horrified voice. As she walked into the bathroom she saw Gail leaning against the sink, I fist full of her hair in one hand and a pair of scissors in the other.

Gail looked up at her with a sad and slightly drunk face. “It was getting in the way?” she said

Holly frowned “What?”

“I fancied a change?”

“How much have you had to drink?” Holly asked seeing a glass of something on the edge of the sink. She walked up to Gail and put her fingers through what was left of her long hair.

“Not as much as you’d think” Gail kind of smiled and turned towards Holly leaning her back on the sink.

Holly grimaced; she could now see the other side of Gail’s hair. Whereas the right side was down to Gail’s shoulder the left side was cut to her ear. She shook her head “You’re really going to have to make a hair appointment tomorrow to fix this…… mess”

“I have work tomorrow”

“What time?”

“Early shift” Gail said very matter of fact. Holly was surprised by her lack of concern

“Oh! Well……” Holly ran her hands through Gail’s hair again as she tried to think what they could do.

“You could do it” Gail said

Holly frowned and started to protest.

“You’re a doctor” Gail said “You must be able to handle sharp objects accurately without killing people and you know, you must be good with your hands……” Gail full on smiled and it put Holly off a bit.

“I can’t cut your hair Gail, I wouldn’t know how” Holly said shaking her head and backing away slightly. She was stopped by Gail taking hold of the hand that had just been in her hair and putting it to her mouth and kissing the palm. Holly nearly made an inappropriate noise.

“I trust you” Gail said holding up the scissors

Holly was about to protest again but Gail just looked at her like a lost puppy and she found it very hard to refuse. She rolled her eyes “Fine. But I take no responsibility for how it turns out”

“Yes you do”

Holly raised an eyebrow and smirked “Careful officer, I’m the one with the scissors now, one slip and you’re one ear lighter”

They both laughed “Come on, sit on the bath” Holly said moving Gail over.

She sat down and looked up at Holly who didn’t seem to know where to start. “Do it like Tinkerbell or some sort of fairy tale character” Gail said

“Not a hairdresser, remember, you’re just going to get what you get! And Tinkerbell didn’t have short hair”

“Julia Roberts did” Gail said simply “I loved that film…..”

Holly frowned again but had to concentrate. “Right” Holly thought “just have to make the sides the same length……..easy……”

It took about half an hour for Holly to be vaguely happy with her work “Okay….” She said as she brushed some hair from Gail’s cheek “Not exactly a fairy tale” she said putting the scissors down “still kind of beautiful though” she smiled and lifted Gail’s chin up.

“Thank you” Gail said sincerely

Holly smiled “You might want to have a look before you…” but she was stopped from finishing her sentence by Gail leaning forward and kissing her softly.

“Thank you” Gail said again when Holly opened her eyes

Holly took Gail’s head in her hands, wiped some hair from Gail’s lip and kissed her again.

When they pulled apart again Holly asked “Do you want to wash it, get rid of all the loose bits?”

“Yeah”

As Holly moved to the other end of the bath to put the shower on, Gail leaned over to the sink and picked up the drink she’d forgotten she bought in with her and downed what was left.

As Holly turned around again Gail stepped into the bath “Get in” she said

Holly looked suspicious

“Get in and help me” Gail said with a pout

Holly stepped into the bath in front of Gail and watched her, this whole evening had been strange, Gail’s behaviour had been strange. She wasn’t normally a sad drunk but she had been through a lot in the last few days, not as much as some of course but still, seeing two of your friends and colleagues shot and in life threatening condition is going to affect you, even if you were the stoic Gail Peck.

Holly reached up and placed her hand on Gail’s cheek, Gail leaned into it and closed her eyes. Holly was pretty sure she heard her hum.

“You are so beautiful” Holly said

Gail opened her eyes and looked at Holly as if she was waiting for a ‘but’

“If you need to talk about what’s happened the last few…..” again Holly’s sentence was cut off by Gail kissing her.

“That will be a No then” Holly thought just before she intensified the kiss.

As the kiss continued they moving closer to the shower end of the bath and into the falling water, just as Holly felt the water on her face and glasses Gail pulled away quickly.

“OH SHIT THAT’S COLD” she yelled trying to get away from the water. They both ended up rushing out of the bath to get away from the freezing water.

As Holly took her glasses off she apologised “Sorry, I forgot the hot takes a while to get going” she smiled shaking her glasses to get some of the water off them.

“Hooohh!” was all Gail could muster as she pulled her t-shirt away from her body and leaning back so the water flowing off her head didn’t go down her back.

Holly started laughing which got a glare out of Gail

“I’m sorry” Holly said again putting her arms up so Gail didn’t attack, but she was still on the verge of laughing again.

“Stop laughing, I’m freezing” Gail said still pulling at her t-shirt

“Take it off, I’m sure I can warm you up” Holly said. She hadn’t meant it to sound like that though

Gail stopped fidgeting and stared at Holly. Without breaking eye contact Gail pulled her t-shirt over her head in one move, dropped it on the floor and moved towards Holly.

Holly didn’t quite know whether to break eye contact or not, but the decision was taken away from her as Gail got closer and closer then took her hand and walked straight past her pulling her out of the bathroom and turning towards the bedroom.
