Adult silvan crystalwings have discovered that they have wings, and said wings are pretty useful for getting around. They no longer gallop everywhere, in favor of flying places instead, and are also a bit less inclined to poke their nose under everything. Adults also have grown their antlers fully, and those are truly large and majestic. These antlers and their gems are very potent in life magic, to the extent that silvan crystalwings were once hunted for them and their population reduced to only those that lived deep in the heart of Silva Forest. Nowadays, with the Keep strictly protecting them against poachers, their population has rebounded and they are once again a common sight throughout Silva, and among the trees around the Keep.
Silvan crystalwings were once an uncommon sight, having been hunted for their antlers, which were both trophies and highly prized reagents for life potions. Strangely, the crystalwings themselves do not seem to display life powers, though they are incredible trackers who can always find their magi. Inquisitive and prone to exploring, they are found everywhere in the forest they are named for, and have also spread to the less sparsely wooded areas near the Keep. Males have plumage the color of autumn leaves, while females are the verdant shade of late spring and summer. In the winter, when the business of mating and raising hatchlings is done, males and females each go their own way, flocking with other crystalwings of the same sex. As such, sometimes one might find a tree seemingly covered with leaves out of season, only to find upon closer examination that it is covered with roosting silvan crystalwings.
