[It's Christmaaaaas!!

One of Roji's favorite holidays has finally arrived, and he's positively glowing with excitement over it. It's apparent in his voice when he makes his journal post. His post icon shows that he's dressed rather festively too: he's got a ridiculous sweater on.]

Merry Christmas, everyone! Did anyone spot Santa last night? I'm sure he could find his way to Luceti somehow! [He laughs.] I hope you're all having a ton of fun. Christmas is the day for happiness after all! I just finished dropping off all of my presents. I hope you guys like them!

Also, I...um. I want to thank the Malnosso for the present. I actually needed a new pair of slippers...! [He feels really awkward thanking the Malnosso for something. But he can't deny that some silly slippers are a heck of a lot better than an experiment for Christmas.]

Oh! [A finger snap.] That's right! I have a bunch of leftover Christmas cookies if anyone wants them! Just stop by CH7's 3rd floor kitchen if you're in the area. I'll bring them to that party at the Rec Center later too!

All right, I'm gonna get going now. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

[And with that, he sets his journal down and wanders over to the living room to settle down with a nice cup of hot chocolate. He can't help but smile on a day like this. This is probably the first day in a while that he hasn't stopped to worry about everything going on at home. On a day like Christmas, he just knows everything is okay.]

[[OOC: Gift list is here!]]

Er...hello, Luceti. This is Roji. It's been a weird week... I gotta say it's weirdest way I've spent my birthday in a long time. [Stop stalling, Roji.] But the main reason I'm making this post is because I have a question...

[There's a slight, reluctant pause. He feels so bad about this, pfft.]

Is anyone out there missing their tea set?

Because I have a mountain of them here at home. I can't remember where I took them all from while I was pretending to have a giant tea party during the week... Oh, this is so embarrassing. If you're missing one, just let me know and I can bring it over to you. I've washed them all too, and I don't think any are broken.

I'm so sorry about this.

[And with that, he ends the post, only to grimace the literal mountain of tea sets engulfing his apartment.

What a week indeed.]

[Even though the madness caused by the battle dome subsided many days ago, Roji has just now managed to get settled back into his apartment. Despite the fact the ghosts were holograms, they were still ghosts, and they terrified him! Normally Muhyo would be able to get rid of them, but Roji was on his own, and he didn't have the ability that Muhyo had.

So after being paranoid of ghosts popping up in the middle of the night for a few days, he's finally calmed down and realized that they're gone. For now, anyway.]

H-Hello, everyone. I apologize for my behavior the last week or so. I was recovering from the effects of the chaos... [his tone seems to turn a little more cheerful] But I'm okay now. I'm just glad everything's back to normal for no--

[Spoke too soon. Roji is cut off by a bunch of racket outside his apartment. There's a lot of slamming and dragging. Your typical struggle, in other words. In the midst of the sounds, Roji can be heard jumping up from his hair and bolting for the door.

There's not another word from him until several minutes later, after the racket has died down.

Definitely spoke too soon.]

They...they took Ginia. I t-tried to stop them, but I was too late.

... I'm sorry.

[And he ends the feed there. He's feels far too shaken and guilty to continue.]

[It's been a while since Roji updated his journal. Within the last couple of months, so much has been going through his head, he hasn't been quite sure what to say. So since it's the new cycle, he figures he'll address that for now.]

Time really flies, doesn't it? Even in Luceti. It's hard to believe I've already been here for two months. To all of the New Feathers: welcome to Luceti. [It's weird calling others New Feathers, since he was just one until now.] I know the whole situation is strange, but I hope you can manage to get settled in alright.

[In the meantime, Roji will be waiting to see if anyone from his world shows up this cycle. His hopes are high.

There's a pause as he considers asking a question he's been meaning to ask for a while. He decides to go with it. He's too curious about this to wait any longer.]

And on a completely different note, I have a somewhat random question for anyone who's listening. What are ghosts like in your world?

[As for the action bit, after Roji closes his journal, he's going to be going around his building for a bit. He realized he hasn't gotten around to really introducing himself to his neighbors. So anyone in Community Housing 7 will be hearing a knock on their door from Roji, who will be carrying a baked good of some sort.]

Erm...is this thing recording? I didn't think making an actual post would be this hard...

[He taps on the journal before gasping.] Oh, it is! Great! Um...hi there. I've been here for a couple days, but I just now got all settled in. Now I can finally introduce myself. Sorry for taking so long!

[There's a bit of tension in his voice. Even though he's been in Luceti for about a week, it's obvious that he's still a little shaken up from shock of being torn out of his own world. He can't help but worry.] I'm Jiro Kusano, but you can call me Roji! I'm from Earth, and I help manage a bureau for supernatural investigation with my boss back home. It's nice to meet you all.

Oh yeah! I wanted to ask something. Is it...is it true that stuff in the stores here is free? [His voice is much more excited now.] I went to buy some groceries and the clerk there said it was free! Er, I'm kind of a fan of cooking, but I don't get the chance to experiment with a lot of stuff because of my...situation back home. Being able to get supplies without trouble is amazing.

[As he's about to shut off the journal, he remembers the most important thing he wanted to bring up.] Actually, I have a request too. If anyone knows of someone named Toru Muhyo, could you let me know? I really hope he's here...

Friendly and polite, Roji has no trouble making friends (though this often puts him in dangerous positions since he is too trusting). Roji is always willing to help others, and often puts others' needs before his own. He has even saved those who have treated him poorly in the past. When someone is struggling or is in a bad place, Roji is willing to attempt to cheer them up or help in any way he can. When he is in danger, he would rather make sure that his friends are safe first. For example, when he was being possessed by a ghost at one point in the story, he requested that the ghost at least help Muhyo afterword if it truly was going to have its way with him. He is also fiercely loyal to his friends, especially Muhyo. It doesn't matter if power or wealth is involved. When Page Klaus tested his character and offered him a different job that grant him more power and training, Roji firmly refused, stating that he would never turn his back on his partner. His pure heart and desire to help others is likely the source of his extremely high willpower.

The second major personality point for Roji is his fluctuating confidence. When things are going well, of course he's going to be very confident. However, straight after the event is over, he realizes that he was being overconfident and scolds himself for it. He has a very hard time giving himself a pat on the back every now and then, even when he succeeds at something. He always feels that he can do better. He often compares himself to his colleagues of higher rank and skill, and beats himself up over not having as much knowledge as them. His central goal throughout the series is to pull his own weight properly assist Muhyo, so when he is unable to help in a situation where his colleagues are, it's a serious blow to his confidence. However, with a little bit of reassuring, he is usually able to bounce back and focus on the task at hand.

The third major part of Roji's personality is the fact that he is constantly learning. Roji is often seen marveling at various things in the story, be it new abilities of ghosts, or other elements within the world of Magic Law. While Roji has heavily studied ghosts and is very knowledgeable about them, that's...about it. He still has a lot to learn about the world and the way things work, especially within the world of Magic Law. For example, in the world of Magic Law, practitioners are able to use different types of tools known as artifacts. Practitioners are encouraged to use different types of artifacts to figure out what suits them best. Even far into the series, Roji has only seen less than a dozen of them. It is shown in the story that a couple times where he attempts to use new artifacts backfire and someone gets hurt. However, when he is able to concentrate and when the going is tough, Roji is able to pull through and learn new and helpful spells to protect his friends. All the spells he learns throughout the story can be used with novice artifacts like basic wards and the pen of wards.

Lastly, some more minor traits. While back at the office, Roji takes care of all the housekeeping. Even though it's a lot of busywork, he actually likes it. He noted that he excelled in Home Ec., math, and science in school, and it definitely shows. He does a lot of reading, notably on ghosts and the basic Magic Law stuff. He's also a fan of cooking, and is especially fond of tea and sweets (cake in particular). He tries to be as frugal as possible because the bureau is pretty much eternally broke due to being so small and virtually unknown. He's known to jump at any sale possible.

Strengths:

Physical: I can't think of any physical strengths off the top of my head. Roji's pretty average when it comes to physical things.

Mental: In the Muhyo and Roji universe, there's a thing called tempering. It's described as the spirit/willpower of the individual. Tempering is drawn in order for executors (practitioners who carry out the actual sentencing of ghosts) to summon envoys of the Underworld and for assistants to use magic wards, spirit barriers, and other tools used to assist the executor. Each person has a different level of tempering, and the more it is drawn, the weaker the person becomes. Roji's main strength is his phenomenal level of tempering. For example, while most practitioners can only use one or two wards at once without draining themselves completely, Roji can use three to five. In volume 6, Roji's tempering was tested with a device, and his tempering was so off the charts that it actually broke the device. It'll be dulled from being in Luceti, however.

When with his partner Muhyo, Roji also possesses an ability known as "aroropathy." Aroropathy is the phenomenon that occurs when two forces act on and benefit each other, like two plants growing together leading to the better quality of each plant. The two main researchers of the series, Lili and Meril, note that such a phenomenon happening with humans is extremely rare, but they strongly believe that Muhyo and Roji possess this ability. The reason behind the aroropathy is discovered near the end of the story. Muhyo and Roji are bound by a string of fate, which means that they are always drawn to each other. This string allows for them to keep each other at their strongest, but it also drains Muhyo's tempering much quicker than usual. This phenomenon is referred to as "The Golden Thread" (despite how soft gold actually is).

Emotional: Dealing with harmful ghosts on a daily business definitely requires a lot of emotional strength, especially since Roji actually terrified of them. Muhyo's teacher Page makes note that Roji's ability truly shines through because he is pure and kind. He's willing to help anyone, even if they end up trying to kill him in the future. He believes that anyone can be saved from the dark side if they've waved from the light in the past, even Enchu, the central villain for much of the series (although he was a little unsure at the beginning).

Misc: Roji's character bio in volume 1 notes that his talents are "super fab tech" and cooking. The former means he likes coming up with plans and schematics for little inventions, as well as disguises to use on missions. This actually led to the defeat of one of the villains, Mick. If Roji hadn't come up with the plan as fast as he did, his friends would have been killed. He's also a good cook and knows how to make cheap but tasty and filling meals, so can provide for himself in that sense. He also does a lot of housework and busywork (shopping, laundry, paperwork), and he generally wouldn't turn down such a job if he was asked.

Weaknesses:

Physical: According to a Q&A segment in volume 6, Roji is nearsighted and requires glasses or contacts to see properly. Most of the time he wears contacts, but he uses reading glasses for doing paperwork.

Mental: Being a Magic Law practitioner requires being able to think up plans and backup plans on the go while you're fighting ghosts. Roji's...not very quick in that department, mostly due to being afraid in the presence of ghosts. Muhyo is usually the one to come up with ideas and pass them along to Roji. However, there are times that Roji has gotten his own (useful) ideas from key words brought up by Muhyo or anyone else in the travel party at the time (see misc. strengths).

Despite being the assistant of the genius Muhyo, Roji actually doesn't know all that much about Magic Law. He failed his first entrance exam to get into the Magic Law School, and he applied to be Muhyo's assistant because knowledge of Magic Law wasn't required. As expected, it wasn't his knowledge of Magic Law that earned him the position, but the display of his ability during a sudden ghost attack at the Magic Law Association. However, as the story progresses, Roji learns more Magic Law along the way.

Emotional: Roji isn’t the most confident person, not by a long shot. He is extremely emotional, cries easily and his thoughts become clouded by it, especially if a ghost has a sad backstory or if he messes something up. Sometimes he has a hard time dealing with Muhyo’s harshness with sentencing ghosts due to the former. Concerning the latter, he tries so hard to please people and make them proud that when he falls short, he becomes somewhat of a wreck, calling himself useless and unworthy. It’s even worse when he’s called out on it. A good example would be when he became extremely jealous of Nana for getting Muhyo’s praise while he was unable to help Muhyo, which lead to Muhyo giving him a harsh talking-to and suspending him from being his assistant for a fixed amount of time. Another example was after the group defeated Mick, he still didn’t feel confident about it because he was only able to help out with an invention idea and not Magic Law.

He spends a great deal of the story struggling with his poor confidence. However, his biggest points of development tend to happen when he is at his lowest and is able to figure out bits and pieces of why Muhyo chose him as his assistant. These are the moments where he is able to produce the most power, showing off his true ability and saving the day.

Samples

First Person:

[The screen flickers for a good few seconds before a nervous-looking boy finally appears.]

Erm...is this thing working?

[He taps on the journal before gasping.] Oh, it is! Great! Um...hi there. I heard the whole story about this place, so since it sounds like I'll be here for a while, I figured I should introduce myself.

[He smiles awkwardly. It's obvious he's still a little shaken up from initial shock of being torn out of his own world. He can't help but worry.] I'm Jiro Kusano, but you can call me Roji! It's nice to meet you all.

[Suddenly his face brightens up.] Oh yeah! I wanted to ask something too. Is it...is it true that the food here is free? [He's practically glowing by the end of that question.] I'm kind of a fan of cooking, but I don't get the chance to experiment with a lot of stuff because of my...situation back home.

[Situation, right. He's not quite ready to admit that he was practically eternally poor back home. But still, at least there's something positive about this new "home".]

Actually, I have a request too. If anyone knows of someone named Toru Muhyo, could you tell me? I really hope he's here...

Third Person:

Darkness. That was all Roji could see when he came to. Coughing, he attempted to look around the room, but his eyes wouldn’t adjust to the dark. There was a splitting pain running through his head and he could hardly move. He shook his head and attempted to focus. What was going on? What happened? He remembered returning to the bureau after a long night's work. He made a late dinner and watched a program with Muhyo. After that, he was exhausted, so he bid Muhyo goodnight and headed for his room. That was where things got fuzzy.

Suddenly, a surge of fear ran through his body. Why couldn't he remember? What if someone had broken into the office and attacked? And who? The only culprit he could think of was a haunt following them home, since he couldn’t think of anyone else with a grudge against him and Muhyo. Could it have been Ark? No, he knew for a fact that they wouldn’t be seeing that evil group again. There was no doubt about it. He remembered watching Tomas being judged by Pluto, he remembered the defeat of Mick at the hands of Umekichi and Seven Faced Dog. He remembered Teeki splitting from Enchu and being taken to the Underworld. That wasn't just a dream. There was no way that they could be back.

But he had more important things to think about than mulling over what could have caused this situation. He had to make sure that one person was okay.

“M-Muhyo…?” He whispered into the dark, hoping for his partner to answer him like he always did.

But there was no response.

“Muhyo?” His voice was louder now, with more distress in his tone.

Nothing.

Another wave of panic washed over him. He had to find Muhyo. He had to make sure he was okay. With all of his strength, he heaved himself up from the floor and searched for an exit. After a bit of feeling around, he found a doorknob. Taking a deep breath, he nearly busted through the door from excitement. A bright light engulfed him.

“MUHYO!”

Expecting his partner to finally answer him, he was only greeted with a high pitched scream. He gasped, nearly jumping a foot. Eyesight adjusting, he realized that he was in a quaint little house, and its owner was just starting at him, terrified. He blinked several times, looking down at himself to find that he had no shirt on. He immediately stared back at the woman. He could feel his face burning up.

As the confusion and embarrassment came to a head, the only words Roji could utter were, “I um…I can explain…”

Just what had he gotten himself into?

Character History

Roji's story begins when he was a little boy. One day, his friend became possessed by a haunt. Unable to do anything, Roji could only watch as his friend began to be stolen away. However, a Magic Law executor appeared and saved his friend. The executor saw something in Roji that day: a well of tempering (power drawn to use Magic Law) within him that would always draw spirits. Some time later, Roji received a tempering-monitoring tie in the mail from the executor, with instructions to never take it off. Roji did just that, even though he has never found out what it does. These two events sparked an interest for Roji: a desire to help those troubled by spirits.

Thus, his quest to become a Magic Law practitioner began. Little did he know that spark was drawing him to someone, and would continue drawing him closer until they were connected.

Eight years later, Roji found himself at the Magic Law Association headquarters. Though he failed the entrance exam to attend the Magic Law School a few years before, a flyer advertising an assistant needed for an executor caught his attention, specifically because knowledge of Magic Law was not required. When he found the place where interviews were being held, he was quickly intimidated by the amount of people applying to become Toru Muhyo's assistant. He then met a little boy whom he casually spoke about manga with...only to find out shortly after that he was speaking with the genius Muhyo. Embarrassed for not realizing and being so informal with the executor, Roji was sure he wouldn't get the position as he checked into the hotel for the night.

Unexpectedly, a grudge, a powerful spirit, attacked the hotel that night, and Roji and another practitioner were ensnared by the grudge. Only an executor could bring the spirit down, and none were around. Desperate to survive and save the practitioner, Roji displayed his ability for the first time by using a tool that only experienced practitioners would know how to use, injuring the spirit and freeing them just in time for Muhyo to arrive and sentence it. Muhyo saw something in Roji that day. The next day, Roji was unofficially chosen to be Muhyo's assistant. Two years later, the story for the series begins.

The first few chapters of the series focused on Muhyo and Roji's bureau and their customers who reported events that they believe were caused by ghosts. A girl who died by falling in front of a train and couldn't move on, a ghost possessing an old lady, a man who passed away before finishing his biography and used an author to write the story for him, and so on. These cases were there to introduce Muhyo and Roji's personalities, but the first serious plot didn't begin until Muhyo and Roji traveled to the Magic Law Association headquarters.

There, they discovered that Muhyo's former classmate, going by the name Enchu, had descended into using forbidden Magic Law and was bent on destroying Muhyo. Enchu attacked while Muhyo and Roji were at the M.L.A., using a giant swarm of grudges. Muhyo managed to defeat all of them by summoning the Night Train, but before that, Roji once again showed his ability by sealing five grudges at once with his pen, a very difficult feat to accomplish. After his small defeat, Enchu retreated, but it would definitely not be the last they saw of him.

After the attack, Muhyo and Roji returned to their office and solved a few more cases until another of Muhyo's former classmates, Biko, abruptly arrived one night seeking Muhyo's help. An extremely powerful spirit had broken out of the Arcanum, a prison for certain spirits, and they were needed to help fix the problem. Muhyo agreed, so Roji went along as well. After meeting Biko's mentor Rio at the Arcanum they faced the horrible Face Ripper Sophie and managed to defeat her, but at the expense of most of Muhyo's tempering, leaving him extremely exhausted. This was bad timing, because it was then that Rio revealed that she too had turned into a forbidden Magic Law practitioner and that the entire Arcanum breakout was a setup to lure Muhyo in and drain his tempering. Roji and a fellow practitioner Yoichi were able to hold off Rio long enough for Muhyo to recharge his tempering, and he attempted to remove the brand of forbidden Magic Law on her. However, Enchu appeared and took her away before Muhyo could get to her.

It was clear what the plan was after that: rescue Rio and attempt to defeat Enchu, along with the new threat, the organization of forbidden law practitioners known as Ark, and their leader Teeki. But before that, Muhyo and Roji needed to rest and regain energy, so they returned to the office for a while. There, they ran into Muhyo's rival Goryo, another practitioner but of a different Magic Law firm called the Goryo Group. They had a contest of sorts, and if Muhyo lost, they would be forced to give up the office. Muhyo agreed, and they went to defeat a powerful ghost known for its ability to split up into multiple spirits. Muhyo managed to sentence the ghost, but Goryo was the first to trap it, making Goryo the winner. This was a major point in Roji's story, because his jealously managed to the get the better of him, and this forced Muhyo to make a decision of putting him on leave to the M.L.A. to clear his head, and realize why Muhyo chose him to be his assistant.

While reminiscing about his past at M.L.A., Roji realized that he was only thinking of himself and not as a team with Muhyo. He then became determined to grow stronger for when he returned to Muhyo. With that, a training arc began. He met two researchers named Lili and Meril, and he teamed up with them when ghosts attacked the resort where they were staying during their training. While most of the ghosts were purposely planted by the executors in charge of training, one super powerful ghost known as Bellocent managed to sneak in inside another ghost. Things were looking grim, but with the guidance of Lili and Meril, and additional tempering from a formal rival Ebisu, Roji managed to seal the ghost against all odds. While this was happening, Muhyo was forming a pact with a powerful envoy, Pluto. Muhyo did hear about Roji's success, and when they met up again, he took Roji back.

Of course, the pleasant moment didn't last for long. Soon after, Ark was on the move. They decided to strike at Goryo first, sending a member that had a connection to him. It was his former teacher, Tomas, a man whose obsession with collecting overcame him. After setting fire to the Goryo headquarters, he kidnapped Goryo himself and began to turn him into a ghast. Muhyo and company were quick to help, hurrying to Tomas's hideout. By the time they got there, they feared they were too late, as Goryo had already become a half-ghast. However, with persuading from Goryo's faithful assistant Ebisu, and a bit of help from the envoy Kiriko, Goryo was returned to normal. All that was left was Tomas. This was where Roji truly saved the day. The only way to defeat Tomas was by destroying his book, which was buried within Styxsand, where no normal person would be able to enter without their tempering being sucked dry within seconds. Roji was able to last an entire minute down there, and was able to destroy the book before the group was engulfed in the sand. This allowed Muhyo to send Tomas down below where he belonged. Soon after, Muhyo and Roji were given their office back for saving Goryo.

Not even a few days after settling back into the office, Page arrived to announce that they had pinpointed Ark and Enchu's location (the Wailing Vale), and they were headed straight for it to end Ark once and for all, and to rescue Rio and Enchu. They would split up, Muhyo and Roji meeting up with Imai along the way. In the meantime, Page and Yoichi would seek help from a legend named Isabi, who was rumored to be the only person who knew of a way to defeat Teeki. Of course, Ark was fully aware of their plan, and sent two members of Ark toward Muhyo and Roji's destination. One of them had an unknown connection with Roji. Once the duo reached the hotel, they were met by Imai and a new ally, Umekichi. Not soon after, they ran into the first Ark member known as Panza, who ended up luring Roji away from the group and attempted to capture him. She was able to control people with puppet strings, and sent the hotel residents after the rest of the group. While they were fighting her, the second of the two Ark members, Mick, appeared to crash the party and finish off the group. However, before he could kill Roji, Panza jumped in the way and received a fatal wound. As she was dying, the group found out that she was a very shy and awkward girl that Roji had met many years ago when he was applying to be Muhyo's assistant. She considered him her "knight in shining armor" and just wanted to meet him again. Unfortunately, Teeki manipulated her into joining Ark as a way of growing stronger for Roji. Soon afterword, she went to heaven. Shaken by this, Roji vowed to keep living and defeat Ark in memory of Panza.

In a twist of events, Mick kidnapped Imai under Teeki's orders and headed back for Ark's HQ. Now Muhyo and Roji had one more person to rescue. They met up with Umekichi's boss, Busujima, a master of Remote Magic Law. Using it, they were able to send the Umekichi (now in a rodent envoy form) and Muhyo's envoy Seven Faced Dog to the Wailing Vale while the rest of the group traveled by car. They did this in hopes of rescuing Imai and Rio before they actually got there. There were some complications of course, and the two envoys wound up facing Mick. This was another important plot point for Roji, as he was able to come up with a plan to defeat Mick before the two envoys got killed. With the defeat of Mick, they were able to secure Imai and Rio's safety, and brought them back to their location. However, Teeki would not let this slide. He used Rio's forbidden mark to send a shadow version of himself to attack the group. This was where the first signs of Muhyo and Roji's aroropathy (which will be explained further in the app) showed. When Muhyo's tempering alone would not be enough to banish the shadow, Roji stepped in to stop Teeki's ranting, giving Muhyo the final push to get rid of it. While no one (Roji included) actually thought Roji helped in the process, Imai knew of the aroropathy and had a feeling it was involved.

Everyone returned to M.L.A. shortly after they received a text from Page signaling them to abort the mission. It turned out that the way to defeat Teeki (a stone known as the Writ of Passage) was actually hidden within the Association all along, and Ark would certainly be looking for it themselves to stop them. A ghost named Bobby ended up finding the Writ after another ghost known as the Gingko Hag dropped it, and conned Roji into believing that he would hand it over if Roji got him a certain artifact and freed him from the armor he was bound to. In reality, he intended to possess Roji to gain power. His plan was stopped by Muhyo, and in a change of heart due to Roji's kindness toward him, he sacrificed himself to stop the Gingko Hag from taking the Writ back. Shortly after, they were able to defeat the Gingko Hag herself, and all that was left was the remaining members of Ark who had entered the M.L.S.. Goryo and Ebisu took on Ivy the Ghost Master, the trio of judges Ginji, Yoichi and Imai fought Kid and Buhpu, while Muhyo, Roji and the others went after Teeki himself.

While Muhyo worked on fusing the Writ of Passage into his book of Magic Law, Roji and the others had to hold off Teeki for as long as possible. After defeating Kid and Buphu, the trio of judges along with Page had to fend off Enchu. The former task proved to be a bit harder, as Teeki was joined by the final Ark members Julio, who successfully planted a curse on the entire group that froze them in their tracks and made it impossible to hold Teeki off. The artifact that Roji kept from the Bobby arc came in handy here, as he was able to completely destroy the curse, allowing Muhyo to finish the Writ fusion and summon Hades himself to destroy Teeki. However, getting rid of Teeki would not be as easy as they originally thought. Teeki had fused a piece of himself into Enchu, so if the group wanted to destroy Teeki, they would have to somehow split him and Enchu apart or Enchu too would be killed. Muhyo and Roji managed to get Enchu to realize that his mother's death was actually caused by Teeki, so his hate for Muhyo was all for naught. Conflicted with confusion and shock, Enchu began to split from Teeki. However, Teeki refused to let go. But Roji was not going to let him take back control. Using the dagger he received from Bobby, he sliced through Teeki, effectively breaking him away from Enchu's body. This allowed for Hades to take him below, once and for all. Finally, Enchu would not have to live through hate. He had been saved.

After Enchu received his sentence for his crimes, Muhyo, Roji, and company were there to say goodbye before he was locked away within the Arcanum. It was a tearful goodbye, but it would certainly not be the last they would see of him. Now that Teeki had been defeated and Enchu was was saved at long last, Muhyo and Roji returned to their bureau to continue their work that they sorely missed.

Significant Plot Points for Roji:
Volume 2: receives his pen of wards.
Volume 2: displays his ability by using wards on several ghosts at once.
Volume 6: is put on leave by Muhyo and sent back to the Magic Law School.
Volume 6: (flashback) displays his ability by using an artifact designed for high ranking practitioners and becomes Muhyo's assistant.
Volume 6: discovers his significant amount of tempering.
Volume 7: defeats powerful ghost Bellocent.
Volume 7: is tested by Page and is taken under Muhyo's wing once again.
Volume 9: helps bring about the defeat of Tomas by diving into Styxsand and destroying his book of Magic Law.
Volume 9: swears to keep fighting after the death of Panza.
Volume 11: comes up with a "super fab tech" that allows for the defeat of Mick.
Volume 12: displays the power of aroropathy by helping Muhyo banish Teeki's shadow.
Volume 13: meets Bobby and eventually receives a dagger artifact.
Volume 15: banishes Julio's curse, effectively protecting Muhyo from failing at fusing the Writ of Passage with his book of Magic Law.
Volume 15: uses his dagger to separate Teeki from Enchu, allowing for Teeki to be sent to the Underworld.
