Hello everyone!

As of today, January 25th, 2012, magicdraft has officially moved to dreamwidth.org! If you haven't already please head over to dreamwidth.org and make yourself a journal and join the communities.

Good afternoon.

It has been a while since the new Quidditch teams were announced, and since I have not yet heard from anyone on Team 3, I was wondering if we could get together to meet. It would be good if we could become acquainted with each other, and we also should decide on a team name, a captain and determine when we are able to meet for practice.

For those I have not before met, my name is Minato Arisato, and I am your Keeper.

If those of you on Team 3 could contact me and let me know when you would like to meet, then we can determine a time and place that will work for all of us. Thank you for your time.

[ Minato is very calm and straightforward about announcing all of this to the commuter from his seat at one of the tables in the Gryffindor common room. And when he is done, he nods to the commuter and turns the feed off to go back to studying while waiting for any replies. ]

[ The video activates with a bit of a jostle, turning on to give a view of gold eyes before it pulls away and settles on a nearby surface. Now, Ed is fully visible as he goes about braiding his hair. ]

So, uh, 'pparently I had quite a nap.

[ A light snort and Ed reaches over to grab his wand. Giving it a flick, his hair continues braiding itself before the tie floats up with a simple levitation spell and ties around the base of the braid. ]

Al's given me as much of my missing notes as possible, but if anyone's got them for a few of my other classes, I'd appreciate it.

And since I managed to miss Christmas—

[ He leans back a bit, settling into what's clearly one of the many chairs inside the Gryffindor common room. ]

I got some presents for a few people. A little late, but better late than never, right?

[ A beat and he gives a crooked grin. ]

Anyway... what'd I miss?

[ ooc: For Suzaku and Rin, a small selection of Weasley's Wizard Wheezes joke products. For Kallen, a small, decorative red amulet. For C.C., pizza ingredients. [Something... something isn't right.

The thought drifted into her mind as Nunnally woke, before she even opened her eyes, and she remained quite still to concentrate on her surroundings and pinpoint what had triggered the realization. The sheets, the scent of the room, even the angle of the sunlight was— off. Not the same as what she was accustomed to at all, which meant that somehow, somehow she wasn't where she'd gone to sleep.

There was no indication that anyone else was nearby, however, no matter how much she strained to listen, and she finally opened her eyes to discover that... no, this certainly wasn't home. It wasn't anywhere she'd seen before, in fact, and she had no idea how she'd managed to get here without realizing it.

The sudden flood of questions in her mind was abruptly cut off as she started to push herself up to a sitting position, and she realized that something else was entirely different. Nunnally caught her lower lip in her teeth and flicked the covers back with a sharp gesture, staring down at her legs in disbelief. Was that....

And to her surprise, she hadn't been mistaken: when she cautiously tried again her legs did move, shifting a few very visible inches to one side with an ease she hadn't experienced in years.

It took a few moments before she tore herself away from her utter shock and fascination with the ability to move on her own, to simply stand without assistance and explore her surroundings without another's aid, but soon enough she did recall herself to the rest of her situation and began to explore.]

[After exploring the contents of the trunk at the foot of her bed Nunnally reads over the letter several more times, hoping that each time she'd find something new that will actually make sense, as though the words could somehow suddenly twist and re-form into something resembling the reality she knows. She turns then to the communications device she'd found nearby, but looking over the entries on that only leaves her all the more confused. This is all so— strange. Impossible. But at the same time she is here. She's standing here, in fact. She can either try to deny it or simply accept what information she has and move on in an attempt to find out what to do next.

After a moment she realizes that she's accidentally triggered an audio recording while toying with the device, though to this point it wouldn't have picked up anything more than rustling sounds and breathing. Now, however, there's a soft, startled gasp followed by a quiet laugh as she's amused by her own reaction.]

Oh! I beg your pardon, I just arrived and I'm... unfamiliar with this, and how it works.

Hello, anyone who may be listening. My name is Nunnally, and I seem to have just arrived here. I feel like I have a great many questions but don't know where to begin, though I presume that's normal, if everyone else arrived in the same fashion?

[She hesitates briefly, then a smile is distinctly audible as she continues.]

I wonder if anyone can recommend a good book on the flying charms used on broomsticks. I have some ideas I want to try.

[ The feed flickers on and suddenly there's the Black Lake and a high-pitched squeal and a girl with flailing limbs. The girl, as it turns out, is scrambling out of the ice cold lake as though it were boiling oil, soaking wet and crawl-stumbling her way up the green before -- "Oh--!" -- she stops and grabs the commuter from its resting place against a tree, causing a violent bit of shifting while she climbs. ]

[ Then, a beat as the screen is covered by something. Followed by the static of movement and some rambling: ] Okay, Rapunzel, just calm down. Just… What was it doing in there? I mean, obviously I can see why it was in there because it needs to breathe and move and swim and all that. But even if it were just completely harmless and super friendly, I'd feel so much better knowing-- Just-- Why was it in there!? There are people and fish and…and…!

[ Now we're back, and not a moment passes before the young woman comes into view again. Well -- drops into view. She's hanging upside down at a rather bizarre angle with her face pressed riiiight up against the screen. ]

And other things!

[ Again the device pivots wildly until both Rapunzel and the lake are equally distributed across the screen, which shows how she's twisted up in various bits of something that she's used to create a sort of hammock in the tree. Which would be aces except the hammock is made of hair. Loads of hair. Like, an inhuman amount of freaking hair. And it's hers. ]

Oh... Ahah. [ Her smile is tentative, sheepish, though not shy. The smile of a girl wanting to appear more confident than the situation allows for (she's still trying to get used to the idea of so very many people, and the fact that she is so very not at home doesn't help). Also, it is freezing. ] I'm...not doing this wrong, am I? It's just-- [ a cough, an upturned nose ] There is a massive… something in the lake. Like, really massive.

Just. Just so you know.

After a few seconds he shifts the commuter and grins into the camera.]

Privjet, everybody! Russia here, just here to say that I have claimed this tree for the motherland. That's right, this tree I'm residing in is now mine. Do what you see fit but I will reject any opposition! You are welcome to join me if you feel like it, however.

[Yeah, Russia has gone of the deep end. He's claimed one of the larger trees around the lake as his, and will be boycotting Hogwarts in general. Have fun~]

Looks like I made one of the new quidditch teams. Its seems a bit strange that we'll be going up against members of our own houses, but its all a game, so its not a big deal. [Its not like he cared much for the whole House sorting thing to begin with.] It should be fun either way.

And to everyone else on Team One, I'm Suzaku Kururugi, and I'll be your Seeker. We should probably get together before the next practice and get to know each other a little bit... and we should probably pick out a better team name.

_{[The feed comes on violently as the communicator is wiped clear off the bed. Nothing can be seen except the ceiling and the unmistakable colors of green and silver draperies. There's a stamping of bare feet about the floor and the sound of the lid of a trunk closing with a rather loud thud. Panicked breathing, the sound of paper rustling and then, well, a face comes into view as the communicator is lifted off the ground and set on the nightstand.

Meet Alois Trancy, Hogwarts. A newly arrived and sorted Slytherin Second Year student. His bright blue eyes are wide and panicked and his pretty blond hair is a mess. He seems to be in a white nightgown too, reaching down to his knees. In his hand there's a wand and the other, his very own letter from Dumbledore.]}

I-I'm a WIZARD?!

_{[It's a loud shout, containing a mixture of glee, anger and uncertainty - quite the mixture really, as he slaps the letter with the tip of his wand.]}

Right here, that's what it says. I can read well enough. But this is ridiculous-! I thought fairies maybe, would've been the cause and spirited me away, but it's bloody wizards and witches...and I'm one too?!

_{[He's still breathing quickly, almost panicked as he lets the letter fall from his fingertips, but his grip on the wand is strong. The robes he's been given are strewn out across the mattress of his bed in a complete mess, but he pays them no attention.]}

Claude-! _{[He tried calling before all of this, as soon as he'd woken up. But it'd been to no avail. The demon butler just wouldn't answer his call. It's infuriating, really.]} Houhe o taraluna, Ron de rotarel...I want my Claude. This isn't fair!

_{[It's clear the young boy is completely and utterly torn over what to think and feel, let alone do, thus in a spontaneous burst he whisks the communicator off the night table and darts out of the bedroom, still only in a nightgown and with his wand clutched tightly in his hand.]

"I made a box for your pen and inks..!~ I'll be very upset," she continues, holding it to the screen, "If you decide to not use it...!" Most are probably wondering what's wrong with the box. It was clearly transfigured to be inlaid with brightly shining stones of some sort in the wood.

Kaito will know though.

Have a certain cheery nation on your commuter again. Russia's in the common room, just chilling out for the moment. In a while he'll don the mantle of Ded Moroz, since obviously nobody else here is ready for that kind of commitment, and go about sneaking the presents he'd made into his friends/allies possession. As it is, he waves at the commuter and grins.]

S Rozhdestvom! Merry Christmas, everyone! Nobody here probably celebrates Russian Christmas, but I figured I should just wish it to everyone anyway. I am hoping you all had a good holiday. Mmhm, that is all I think, so do svidaniya.

[He shuts the commuter off with a click and eaves the masses to their mostly Russia free day.]

Is the calendar accurate? Far be it for me to tell my body that it can't have the beauty sleep it wants, but missing several weeks is a bit much. I suppose it must have been the magic here. Better a long sleep than insomnia, I suppose.

[She offers a little smile. Logically, she should be freaking out about this more, but she doesn't really see the point. Shouting Tamaranean obscenities and uttering death threats wouldn't change a thing. Besides, sometimes it's better to use a little charm. This is one of those times.]

002 ۞ video - Backdated to December 25th Evening

[The infirmary is just as festively decorated as the rest of the school and common rooms. Anyone familiar with the Elric brother knows that the older of the two boys has been unconscious ever since the Dementor attack late last month. Every day around the same time (about an hour after dinner), he arrives to spend some time besides Edward's bed side and as the video feed starts recording, a bright crimson cloak with a pitch colored flamel is draped over the body of his sleeping brother. His brown eyes shift away from the bed and to the device and after a slow breath he smiles and begins to talk.]

I saw a lot of presents down in the common room this morning. Edward and I even received things from home. See?

[The feed pans away from his smiling face and towards the infirmary bed to show off that bright red cloak. It lingers only for a second before returning to his face.]

Brother used to wear this back home all the time. Funny thing is, I'm the one who got the coat... a bigger one since I've grown. [He blinks for a second, laughing nervously as his eyes drift back towards Ed.] Don't tell him though. He'll probably get angry when he finds out he's getting his little brother's hand me downs.

Anyway... I hope everyone had a good holidays. The new year is coming up pretty quick... we've been here almost 3 months now. Hard to believe right? Would anyone happen to happen to have experience cutting hair? Mine's pretty long... but it's not really my style. Would anyone be up for giving me a trim?

(OOC: Still technically on hiatus, but I'm trying to get back into the groove of things, not to mention it was the holidays and I wanted to share in the presents and the festivities. Still slowly back tagging everything ilu guys.)

I was wondering if anyone had any experience in charming electronics into working. I have a music player and headphones I would like to get working again, and while I have found some references in books, if there's anyone who could offer helpful suggestions or guidance, I would be most grateful.

[ And he is sure to briefly lift the player that dangles around his neck and the corresponding headphones as he mentions them to indicate to any watchers what, exactly, he's talking about. ]

I am currently in the library, though I can move to another location if necessary.

[When the Commuter turns on, it shows a familiar fiery redhead in her usual resting spot on a squashy armchair at the Gryffindor common room. Right next to her is a small stack of individually wrapped presents, each of varying size and shape, and she's idly dangling the winglike key in front of her with the attached strap in between fingers. What's noticeable is a faint smile on Kallen's face and another present on top of her lap, appearing to be bigger than the other gifts and with an unknown shape. Also, she's hugging said lumpy gift with one arm, giving it a light squeeze.

She looks to be in a fairly good mood unlike her last two broadcasts.]

To think I'll be in the holiday spirit in a place like this. Might as well enjoy it while it lasts. Besides, I have these gifts to give out to people.

[A light snort as she lowers the key that's around her neck and lets it go.]

Whatever, no use thinking about the unknown too much. Talk about pointless distractions.

[Then a sigh.]

[Netherlands just settled in his room and whatnot, but he still doesn't understand all the aspects to the school or why he's really here. He's an empire and has a lot of things to do... so going to school like a boy meant to be a scholar is really not his thing.

Anyway, he's just going to sit on one of the staircases. He has no idea these things actually move around. He either looks very annoyed, deep in thought or bored. It's hard to read how he's feeling in general.]

Hey Aokooo~ [He approaches the shorter girl with a grin.]

[Aoko turned.] Eh? [...That grin could not mean anything good.] Kaito?

[No, no that grin probably isn't good but he's not letting on to his motives just yet.] Your first day of school isn't it? I could walk you to all your classes so you don't get lost. [Griiiin]

[A laugh.] Hahaha... I don't think I'll get lost..! It can't be that hard to find your way around right? [Oh Aoko... So innocent...]

I don't know Aoko, the staircases like to move and some of the people in portraits try and confuse the new students. I got hugged by a suit of armor on my first day. [he gives her a dramatic sigh before perking right back up.] But! I can show you a neat trick you'll probably learn soon!
