Have been so busy with work, getting ready to start Cal State University Northridge and then finding free time for myself. Speaking of work, my last day at Target is August 17th and my new job starts Sep4th. After 3 1/2 years at Target it was time for a major change, plus i will be getting more money at my new job with mo taxes. School starts August 21st, which happens to be my 22nd birthday. Everything is going by so quickly, but i guess that can be good.

That is all the updated news i can think of for now.

Today at work was an overall good day until the end when I finally got around to taking to one of my supervisors. So here’s the deal during the holiday season they put up decoration in the store, well this year corporate decided to make a Marry Christmas sign to go in the front of the store that you can see right when you walk in. So me being Jewish found that a bit offensive, I mean come on wouldn’t you if you didn’t celebrate Christmas and lived in a big Jewish area, you would be surprised how many Jewish people do actually live in the area. So I asked if they could either take it down or move it and my supervisor said he wouldn’t get fired for taking it down and they couldn’t move it since that’s how it’s supposed to be. Just stating my opinion was making me mad and I could feel my face getting red. I’m usually a very quiet individual but things like this do bother me and I decided to voice my opinion when no one else would. Some of my coworkers have said that they had a problem with the sign to but haven’t said anything. I think it should say Seasons Greetings, or Happy Holiday not Marry Christmas. If they have it they way, there should be a Happy Chanukah and a Kwanza sign as well. So I have decided to write the corporate office and tell them what I think and see if something comes out of it.

If you were in my position would you speak up and voice your opinion and do something about it? Or keep quiet?

-Melissa

P.S. My mom said I did the right thing. :)
