Today we'll be looking at how to create this avatar:

What you will need:-
- Photoshop 7 (will be translatable)
- Image Ready
- A screen capturing program - I used Windows Movie Maker

The level of this I'd say is either Intermediate to Advanced. But a very clever and adaptable beginner could understand.

What you will need:-

- A screen capturing program - I used Windows Movie Maker

1. So get your video which you want to use in your icon. You do, of course, have to have it saved onto your computer.
Here's the crazy hard bit if you don't know how to download a video, etc etc etc: You can download a video from youtube by going onto youtubex. Save it as an "flV" program then convert it into another file once it's downloaded because most movie players can't read "flv" files.

2. So I downloaded I Don't Love You by My Chemical Romance, converted it and opened it up with Windows Movie Maker. Find the bit you want in your icon and screencapture it like so:

I WARN YOU, DO NOT SAVE THE PICTURES GOING UP BY NUMBERS. It gets way too confusing later on as the captures will open in a different order as picture 10 will come after picture 1 and before picture 2. If that makes any sense. So go up alphabetically. I also recommend you save MAX of 17 captures to save time and space.
3. Open up Photoshop, or whatever graphics program you use. Open the folder you saved the captures in to. Click the first picture -- not double click -- hold down the Shift button and click the last picture. All pictures should then be highlighted. Click Open and all the pictures should open and your screen should look similar to this:

4. Open up a new document 100x100 with a white background. Paste this lovely ...erm... actually I don't know what to call it, but paste it and merge the layers making that picture the background.

5. Now here's quite a boring bit and you may be greatful for following my warnings in number 2. :] With every single picture you should resize it to 87x65. Now this next rule might get slightly confusing. If your captures don't resize to 87x65 then you need to cut it. However, you need to cut it in the exact same place for each capture or your final icon will look sorry-to-say rubbish. So open up an 87x65 document and copy and paste a capture onto it. Move it all the way so you can see the full right side (or left, top or bottom). Do the same for each picture. I really hope that makes sense. If not please don't shoot me, I've hardly made tutorials and I'm to young to die T_T!!

6. Your image may look pretty blurry when each capture is small, so I used an unsharp mask ((Filter --> Sharpen --> Unsharp Mask)). Mess around with the settings. You could just simply sharpen each capture if you want ((Filter --> Sharpen --> Sharpen)) but just remember what you do to one capture you need to do for all.

7. Your layer pallette should look something like this. Ignore the names of my layers, I didn't follow one of my rules earlier which I totally regret =.=

8. Open up a new 87x65 and fill it with black. Copy and paste it onto the icon. It should look like this:

9. Write something, whatever words you want to appear first. To write "Meh..." I used Garamond, size 19, bold, white.

10. Click the eye next to the layer on the layer pallette to hide it. The write another thing. This time I wrote "...gee wants that really white girl!!" in Garamond, white, size 13, bold.

11. If you're using Photoshop 7 or CS then click the ImageReady button here. If you're not using Photoshop, save the file as a layered file (so not bmp, jpg, png, gif, etc). It should say whether the file is being saved as layers or merged together. Open up the animation program you want to use.

12. If you are using ImageReady then the layers should already have been pasted onto one document. If not then sorry I'm not sure what happened, but copy each layer onto one document. Create as many New Frames ((like so)) as there are layers. On each frame you need to hide all layers except the background layer and one of the layers. The should go in order i.e. the first frame should have the background layer and first capture visible. The second frame should have the background layer and second capture visible. And so on and so forth. It should look something like this:

13. Then on the words layers, set the timer to at least 1second, depending on how big your speech is. For instance my "Meh..." layer is 1second but my "...gee wants that weirdly white girl!!" is 1.5 seconds long. You can change the settings by clicking the arrow next to the 0sec underneath each frame.

14. File --> Save Optimised As. I recommend you save it as a .gif and voila you have it!

Okay so I've never made a tutorial before but someone requested me on a forum how to make this:

Hey! This tutorial will show you how to make with animation and graphic included =3 This is my first tutorial so I hope it's helpful and easy to follow. Some ideas from yumei_k

You'll need:-
-two base picture
-photoshop
-imageready

1. Open your two bases, crop them and sharpen them.

2. Duplicated the base, desaturate (Ctrl+Shift+U) then sharpen that layer too. Set it to around 30% opacity.

3. Take this texture and set it to screen above all layers on both pictures.

4. You should get something like this~

5. Create a new layer above all layers and fill it with #1800E7. Set this layer to Exclusion with the opacity 29%.

6. Add some tiny text and other text to both pictures.

7. Take one of the pictures you've created and merge the layers together (Ctrl+Shift+E). Duplicated the merged layer.

8. Go to Filter -> Blur -> Motion Blur and fill in these settings:
Angle ~ -40
Distance ~ 20

9. Repeated steps 7-8 with the other picture.

10. Open a new document and paste the four pictures (the two non-blurred and the two blurred). Save as a PSD document and open up ImageReady!

11. Make all the layers hidden. Place the animation sequence as shown:
1. New Frame ~ Reveal Yunho "Smile for the" (2.0 sec)
2. New Frame ~ Reveal Yunho "Smile for the" blur (0.1 sec)
3. New Frame ~ Reveal Yunho "Camera" blur (0.1 sec)
4. New Frame ~ Reveal Yunho "Camera" (2.0 sec)
5. New Frame ~ Reveal Yunho "Camera" blur (0.1 sec)
6. New Frame ~ Reveal Yunho "Smile for the" blur (0.1 sec)

12. Save Optimised as .gif and voila you have it!

Woo okay first blog. Not really much to say.

Weeeell, okay maybe there is about my life.
For instance just had my first GCSE =O, wasn't too bad but don't want to say easy just in case I do really bad...but fingers crossed that's not the case! ^___^
Oh and I just turned this ignorant boy against the bitchiest girl in my school year. Took time and effort but it worked. Friends and me happy (Y)

Haha okay if you knew this girl you'd be super happy too. She's horrid and totally nasty.

So yar I'm probably going to start uploading my icons and graphics I've ever made and going to make now.
