//   Frequently Asked Questions.

Below are some common questions about using ChimpFuse, along with concise answers to help you get started

Does ChimpFuse support double opt‑in?

Yes. When configuring a form you can choose Pending as the subscription option. This triggers Mailchimp’s double opt‑in workflow and sends a confirmation email to the subscriber. If you select Subscribed, contacts are added immediately without confirmation.

Edit your form in Contact Form 7 and open the ChimpFuse Mailchimp panel. For each form field, choose the corresponding Mailchimp merge field (e.g. Email, FNAME, LNAME). Mapping the email field is mandatory; other fields are optional.

Absolutely. In the same panel you can add one or more fixed tags or dynamic tags using form field placeholders. For example, entering VIP, {{your-dropdown}} will tag every new subscriber as “VIP” and also apply the value chosen in your drop‑down field.

ChimpFuse logs the error but does not interrupt form submission. Your Contact Form 7 form will still email its contents. You can review the error log in Settings → ChimpFuse to investigate issues.

Yes. You can add an opt‑in consent checkbox to your form. Only when the checkbox is ticked will ChimpFuse send the subscriber’s details to Mailchimp. Without consent, the form submission is delivered as usual but the user is not added to your mailing list.

Yes. Each Contact Form 7 form has its own settings. You can connect different forms to different Mailchimp audiences or tag schemes, or leave some forms unconnected.

ChimpFuse supports selecting a different audience for each form. Your Mailchimp API key must have permission to access the audiences you choose. You can also set a default audience in the plugin settings.

You need WordPress 6.0 or newer and PHP 7.4 or later. Contact Form 7 version 5.4 or newer is recommended. If you are running older versions, please update before using ChimpFuse.

No. ChimpFuse sends a lightweight API request only when a form is submitted. If Mailchimp responds slowly, the request is logged and the form continues to deliver its message without delay. There is no performance penalty on page load.
