Terms
Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.
The Service is provided free of charge. Access to the public website and the standard API does not require registration, account creation, or payment.
Legacy API keys issued in the past may continue to be accepted until April 2027, but new API key registration is no longer available.
By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms then you may not access the Service.
MACLookup reserves the right to modify, supplement or replace these Terms, effective upon posting the changes on the Site or notifying you otherwise. Your continued use of the Services following the posting of changes to these Terms or receipt of notice will mean that you accept and agree to such changes. You are responsible for regularly consulting the current version of the Terms before your use of the Services.
Privacy Policy
For information about how we collect and use information about users of the Service, please check out our privacy policy.
Use of the Service
MACLookup grants you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable right to access and use the Service for lawful personal or commercial purposes.
You may use data returned by the API in your applications, internal tools, or workflows, provided that your use is lawful and does not violate these Terms. If you redistribute or publicly display the data, attribution to MACLookup as the source is recommended.
MACLookup reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
Acceptable Use Policy
Access to the MACLookup API is subject to rate limiting. Limits may vary and are subject to change without prior notice.
You must not use the Service for unlawful purposes, to interfere with its operation, to attempt unauthorized access, or to generate abusive traffic. We reserve the right to block IP addresses or legacy API keys from which we detect traffic patterns that we consider excessive, abusive, or anomalous, including systematic enumeration of MAC addresses for database mining purposes.
The MACLookup API is provided on a best-effort basis with no guarantee of availability, uptime, or response time and without any service level agreement (SLA). MACLookup reserves the right to suspend, limit, or discontinue API access at any time and for any reason without prior notice or liability.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MACLookup, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR ANY OTHER COMMERCIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE OR API, HOWEVER CAUSED, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY.
IN ANY CASE, THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF MACLookup TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE EURO (€1.00), BECAUSE THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE.
Data Accuracy
The MAC address vendor data provided through the MACLookup API is sourced from publicly available IEEE registries and third-party databases. While we strive to keep the data current and accurate, we make no representations or warranties — express or implied — regarding the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or fitness for any particular purpose of the data returned by the API.
MAC address assignments may change, be reassigned, or contain errors in the source registry. You are solely responsible for verifying any data obtained through the Service before relying on it for any decision, technical, legal, or otherwise. MACLookup shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on inaccurate or incomplete data.
Third-Party Content
Our Service may contain links to third-party web sites or services that are not owned or controlled by MACLookup.
MACLookup has no control over and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party web sites or services. You further acknowledge and agree that MACLookup shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such content, goods or services available on or through any such web sites or services.
We strongly advise you to read the terms and conditions and privacy policies of any third-party web sites or services that you visit.
