Mack’s legacy of strength began in 1900, when the Mack Brothers built their first buses in New York City, later expanding into locomotives and railcars in Allentown, PA.
By 1916, the rugged AC model earned the “Bulldog” nickname from British soldiers in WWI—launching Mack’s long-standing reputation for durability and marking the start of our military support.
Mack went on to help build the Panama Canal and produced more than 35,000 heavy military vehicles for WWII, including prime movers, personnel carriers, wreckers, tank transporters, and more to support Allied forces.
