As someone who has a locked icon community of her own, I completely agree with you. Linking to locked posts is very rude, and I do not do so myself. (personally, I make full public post separate from my locked journal). And, if it must be done, it should certainly never be done without at least a warning. Usually, people who link to locked posts have locked their journals for purely selfish reasons.

so i'm fucking selfish for locking my community. get the fuck off. i have every right to do so.

I hate hate hate that. I generally cannot stop myself from leaving very bitchy comments in their post telling them exactly how irrationally pissed off it makes me.

in this tutorial where focusing on the effects and not on the coloring.

- the first i did was blending two pictures together
- then i put on some coloring and merged the layers.
- i duplicated the base and used a surface blur. play with your settiings. filter --> blur --> surface blur
- next i used was a lens flare. filter --> render --> lens flare. i used 50-300mm zoom
- next filter --> render --> lightning effects. i suggest to play with the first to settings and maybe rotate it
- last i used this pattern. i made a pattern of it and the filled it in a new layer. i set it to multiply and lowered the opacity.
- and if you want you can add some text
