Going to Houston this weekend to pick out a bridesmaid dress, and go to a karaoke bar, and get my teeth cleaned, and go shopping with my mom, and to give Gordon the chance to climb a tree.

I had the weirdest dream last night. There were two ferrets involved. I woke up completely confused out of my mind. I don't remember now what the deal with the ferrets was...but I know it was really, really strange.

And I've been watching the 'Walking With..." BBC series for a couple of days now on NetFlix. Its pretty awesome. But some of the reviews really annoy me. I just want to find these idiots and smack them. Mostly people who complain that it's too violent. Well...welcome to the world, guys. Beasties eat each other. Its kinda bloody. Don't let small children watch it, duh. And then the morons who go on about how its complete unscientific nonsense. They obviously haven't watched the bonus footage. That goes on about exactly how all of their info was found. Scientifically, even. Morons. Ruining good ratings with their idiocy.

Doing cosplay stuff for A-KON in May. Was looking into the best ways to hide insulin pumps on costumes. So, I put insulin pump cosplay in Google and then click around. And found a bunch of idiots. And nothing to do with cosplay. :(

An LJ entry from someone just diagnosed. Their blood sugar at the hospital: around 500. They go immediately to the ER, and by the time they get there, they're at 600. Bullshit, girly. And the doctors then told them that if they'd waited a few more days she would've died. Please.

And some Yahoo group for people with electronic medical devices. Fat people with electronic medical devices. And their complaints that they feel like Borg. The founder crying about how she's 5'6 and 300 pounds and can't keep any weight off. I think I'll call bullshit on that, too. I mean, really? I don't care if you're diabetic, you have no reason to weigh 300 pounds.

Oh, internet. How you ruin my faith in humanity.

And I still need to figure out the best place to hide my insulin pump. :(

So, I'm watching this A&E special on NetFlix about the book of Revelation. My favorite book of the bible. Really, really, really awesome. And makes me want to go to all my atheist friends and convince them to join Christianity and not end up in hell. Which I know better than to try. I want to write a whole little essay and talk about all the neat things. But I'm kind of tipsy and I've been writing finals and final note cards and will have more of them tomorrow and later this week...so I won't. But if you have NetFlix, go watch this thing, its awesome.

ahhhhhhh, fall semester... [08/25/08 @ 8:54 am]

So. First day of class. Woo. I've only got one, and its at 6:30pm, so today is a day of sitting at the gym going, oh, God, make them go away, I don't want to do my job! During the summer I could actually go to the bathroom without worrying about the desk. Now, I can't even go into the laundry room without someone coming up looking for something or other. Have to explain to the freshman where the towel drop is. Not that it isn't labeled or anything. No, that's the trashcan. NO. RIGHT OF THE DOOR. NOT THE TRASHCAN, THAT IS TO THE LEFT. And they've changed our duties again. No we have to 'rover'. Like, walk around and creep people out. Because at 6 am, the 3 people in the gym want you to be staring over their shoulder. Now, I have no problem with doing a round about every once and awhile, make sure nothing has exploded. But continuously. That's just silly. I'm just glad I got subs for this afternoon, 'cause the dogs don't walk themselves, and I'm pretty sure just not doing them would make me lose my job. And then I have to run home and get stuff and then go back to my housesit and do things. Cannot wait for this housesit to be over. I want my own bed, dammit. Just gotta keep going...'course, after this housesit, I've got tons of regular ol' petsits to do. And those will keep me busy as all death. At a certain point in the semester, my brain wil explode, and I'll have to tell heather I can't do all of these that I'm signed up for. I mean, I'm not Chuck, this is not my full time job. I cannot do it. She needs to get more people. We'll see how it works out.

I hate you, whoever you are.

Some sort of event. At 9:00 on a Sunday morning. I went to work at 8, I come back at 8:45, I want to go back to sleep for an hour or two...but no. You have to play your loud terrible music. That comes through both my closet window, which I closed...and then bounces off the opposite apartment building, straight into my other wall. So I can't get away from it. SCREW YOU. With your music and your screaming and your whatever the hell you're doing. RAWR.

Stuff!

So, on the Overheard sites, there's been a couple from places I actually know. Like, SMU and Dallas and Richmond and Houston. And I'm like, that's silly, stop making fun of my cities. :( Heh.

And first gig of pet sitting is done. AND JESUS MY SHINS HURT OW. Obviously, this is a sign to not wear my boots all the time. I mean...they are comfy. And protect my feet and legs from puppy claws...but they just aren't good for a lot of walking. Shin splints, or something, I dunno. And I thought I lost the people's cat for a few hours. That was terrifying. Turns out I didn't. Thank monkeys. 'Cause I'm fairly sure they would fire me for that. Got a few more sits next weekend for a diabetic dog. Don't know if I have to do his shot or not. I figure if I can give 'em to myself i can give 'em to a dog. Poor puppy.

And Spring Break! Yay! Not that anyone will be around...or anything. But I can frolic about and maybe go shopping or something. Dentist appointment. I dunno. Went shopping in Deep Ellum yesterday. Was depressing as hell. Deep Ellum is dead. Like disco. I imagine the clubs still get by perfectly well, but the sops are all gone. Except for that one. And it was horribly overpriced. Had some nice stuff, but I won't spend over 20 dollars for a t-shirt. That's just silly. And cute skirt...but it didn't fit. And it was fifty dollars. :( Will have to return at some point, maybe they'll get some new stock. And I cleaned my room a bit, looks much improved. Still messy. But I can't seem to care too much. And the ferals got a bit friendly. Got so brave as to come into the apartment when I left the door open for them. Maybe the one will stop hissing at me, the little bugger. I feed you, you ungrateful little furball. :P

And now...I gotta sleep or something. Four hour drive tomorrow...

omg, more interviews [02/27/08 @ 4:23 pm]
[ mood | frustrated ]

So. Interviews.

I think companies get together and try and make it difficult. I sent some resumes out to 3 different places. All of them want me to come in. Yay! At the same time. Boo. So, squishy and apologetic and rearranging and omg. Looks like 2, possibly 3 interviws this Friday. One for a pet sitting company, one for some sort of data entry, and one for what I think is more data entry. Friday. My mind...will be blown. OMG.

Just gotta figure out what to wear to these things. I mean, I can see sort of business casual to the data entry places. But what does one wear to a pet sitting interview? Not jeans. Maybe khakis? I'll figure it out. I are smart. Of course, judging by how well my last little foray into employment went...yeah...not really hoping too much. No need to stress, I got time.

This apartment thing however...I visted the 2 places we're looking at. They've fairly nice, not in the ghetto. One has a gate, which is an annoyance for me, but I'm sure is all safe and stuff. But...these applications. Suckage. So, we're 3 college kids. We have jobs. We make enough to pay rent and groceries and what have you. But we have to prove it. In fact, we have to prove that between the 3 of us, we make 3 times what we pay for rent. Now. That's irritatating. Because I don't make that much, thanks. And roommate one is paid under the table. Cash, tax free, what have you. Difficult to prove that. Roommate number 3 doesn't really exist yet. So, no idea there. And identification, and previous apartment rental proof and what have you. How are you supposed to get an apartment to get proof that you'll pay if you need proof to get one in the first place? Its like a job. Difficult. Foo.

Of course, there are apartment all OVER the place. But most of them aren't as nice and cheap and these. Also, don't have 3 beedroom units. Dammit. Have to figure something out. Soon. Blargh.

Well, no 'cushy' assistant job for me! I am 'too nice' for Mr. Lawyer/Producer/whatever it is he does man. Because I don't bitch at the people who answer the phone for whatever company. And don't demand managers after speaking for 3 minutes. I mean, yes, its irritating. But its not their fault they have a script. And it takes just as long to go back through a manager and re-explain what the deal is. I would've hated it, anyway. Had a raging headache by the end of the day. Back into the classifieds. :( Wonder if I could do proper retail? Gotta find something before summer. 'Cause the gym job just ain't gonna cut it for rent and groceries and prescriptions and living. Considered posting in customers_suck about Mr Lawyer guy, but its not really detailed enough or even vaguely unique. Oh, well.

And I swear, people are so nasty on the internet. Ripping people apart. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but some people just...like disbelieving people? Or something, I don't know. I even have the excuse of blood sugar and PMS, you don't see me acting like that! At least, not at the moment. >.>

The Sudden Departure

Random Brutal Love Master (RBLM)

The Sudden Departure

Sweet. Dear. Loving. At Gate 18. Final call. You are The Sudden Departure.

You've been in a lot of serious relationships. More than a few have ended ugly. Uglily. Whatever. Our guess is that you're a really fantastic girl who doesn't really know what she wants, and you've broken a few hearts as a result. You fall for people easily, and you enjoy the feeling of falling in love, but once you're there, either boredom or the old "grass is greener" syndrome sets in. The mind wanders, and with it goes the flesh. And then the toiletries.

We know you're not the classic "love 'em and leave 'em" type, at least not in a purely sexual sense. You have too many serious bonding tendencies for that. But even though you're theoretically looking to settle down, you don't settle long on one person. "Serial monogamist" is probably something you hear a lot. "Emotionally loose" is another way to put it. To the poor guys eating your dust and sniffing your panties, it doesn't really make much difference. Of course, it's not really your fault that people get hurt. You have every right to move on when you choose.

Your exact female opposite:

The ice tray thinks I ought to die. It slashed my wrist while I was emptying it. Little bastard. D&D tomorrow. Instead of today. Also, liquor stores are not open on Sundays and close at 9. This saddens the lot of us.

I need an appropriately Potter layout. While this one is lovely, I am becoming a rabid Potterdammerung crazy person. Oi. Packing for the move. Counting down the days. Only 3 more weeks. Whoah.

Happy birthday to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Yep. Big 2-0. Awesome. Might be getting a job. That'd be lovely. Get to go see Spamalot this evening! SQUEE!

Maybe going to Galveston this weekend? Since last weekend we had to cancel. :(

Still have to call the housing dept and yell at them for hanging up on me. And tell them that we aren't going to pay twice for changing the lock on my room. So there.

And...that's the story of my life. :D
