I’m a senior research scientist at Sony AI in Tokyo, where I am part of the CreativeAI & Music Foundation Model Team.
Previously, I was an audio research intern at Adobe in the Audio Research Group, and I received my PhD in computer science from Queen Mary University of London, where I was a member of the Audio Engineering Research Team within the Centre for Digital Music.
My research interests lie at the intersection of machine learning, digital signal processing, and intelligent music production. My primary focus of research is on deep learning architectures for music and audio processing.
I hold a MSc in digital signal processing from The University of Manchester, UK, and a degree in electronic engineering from La Universidad de Los Andes, Bogotá, Colombia.
Outside the lab, I’m an electronic music producer and mixing engineer under the name of imaginary unit.
I’m also currently enrolled in the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP) and guide meditation sessions with Tokyo Mindfulness, bringing together my passion for sound and contemplative practices.
