We'll be making a bright icon using a screencap from skins, as shown above. I hope you enjoy this tutorial, make sure to post your results!

1. Get your base ready. Make sure to use a screencap, otherwise it will look... crazy.
2. Duplicate your base, and set the duplicate to Screen left at 100%.
3. Duplicate your second copy of your base, and it should be on Screen at 100%.
4. Repeat Step 3.
5. Duplicate your fourth copy of your base, and set it to Softlight at 11%.
6. Make a new curves layer, and put in my settings:

RGB:
New Point: Output: 96 Input: 97

Reds
New Point: Output: 92 Input: 105

Greens
New Point: Output: 68 Input: 62

Blues
New Point: Output: 100 Input: 95

7. Make a new colour balance layer, and put in my settings:

Midtones
-18, -17, -6

Shadows
-17, -8, -5

Highlights
-12, 0, 0

8. Make a new selective colour layer, and put in my settings:

Reds: -24, 0, +16, +9
Yellows: -45, +17, -49, 0
Neutrals: +23, 0, 0, +13
Blacks: +51, 0, 0, 0

9. Make a new Photofilter layer, and put in my settings:

Cooling Filter (82)
Density: 10

Preserve Lumnosity Checked.

10. Make a new levels layer, and put in my settings:

RGB
13, 1.17, 255, 0, 232

11. Paste the fog texture onto your canvas, and set it to Screen at 100%.
12. Copy merge your layers (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+E) and set the layer to Softlight at 50%.

13. There you have it. Here are some other examples with this colouring.

I'm really tired today. I got up like at 6am. No reason. It's just that i had a late night. And for some reason i couldn't sleep because my mum had the t.v on all night. And the lounge room is only across the room from me. Suckage. And i have the most uncomfortable bed ever. Thinnest mattress i've ever seen. xD.
But anyways. At the moment i'm holding Coco my new bunny! She's so cute. That's the only thing i'm going to say about her description otherwise i'm going to start bragging. xD. It was really very un-expecting because my Grandparents came down for a visit, and brought her down. They asked me if i wanted her and i was like O_O OMG YES. She's very tame i guess. She hung around my Grandparent's frontyard alot. But yay for a new pet! Extra cleaning, extra attention, it's going to be hard. Very hard.

I've been into making icons alot lately, so i'm sharing this tutorial with you guys. For this tutorial, i recommend you use stocks like i did, otherwise the colouring will end up too strong for anything else.

             This        --->          This

Using Photoshop 7+

Like i said. Stocks are recommended for this tutorial.

1. To start, we are going to open up your base and duplicate the layer, setting it to Soft Light 100% opacity. For most images this may need to be lowered. This step just gives the image a bit of contrast.

2. On step 2 on all of my tutorials, i always go to selective colouring. So go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Colour and make sure you match your settings to mine shown below in a screenshot.

3. Now that you've done that, make a new levels layer, Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Levels. Now make sure you match your settings to mine.

4. Now your done! Don't forget to show me your results, and credit!

Hey guys! I'm Tiffany! This is another account of mine, and my final. I am so so excited! I just found out how to remove my ads *dances* in a legal way, so i didn't try to remove any codes. So yeah. I found this absolutely fab layout by artphilia. Their layouts >> absolutely amazing. You should watch their livejournal. I'll be releasing some resources, icons, and much much more! As soon as we've reached 20 friends, i'll start a requesting event where you can request from me! Exciting, huh? But you can only join our contests and other events if you join! So join join join! Thankyou!
