You crawl toward the motionless body on the floor and pray that you're not too late. It's hard to keep the rag on your face and use your arms to move at the same time, so you've all but abandoned the notion of inhaling as little smoke as possible. Your lungs are scorched already as it is... but you don't care. You have to get to Joel!
If that even IS Joel... it kind of doesn't look like him. Then again, I'm not used to seeing him passed out on the floor, either, so...
The man's got hair as dark as Joel's... but he's wearing a shirt you don't recognize, now that you're close enough to make it out. Still! I have to see his FACE -- just to make SURE-sure...
It's not Joel.
You're disappointed, but only for a moment -- because you're also realizing this man is dead. Possibly from before the fire, given the wounds you're seeing. Or maybe he hurt himself trying to get out? ...Why the fuck did I even WANT it to be Joel?! Now there's a better chance Joel's alive! ...Hey, is that our flamethrower? It sure looks like it -- does that means Joel's here? Or do all flamethrowers pretty much look alike, and this dude just also happens to have one?!
You need to get your bearings and decide--
Fuck! Another catwalk just crashed down, blocking the way you came in! You succumb to another coughing fit, and lay as flat on the ground as you can to try to help your lungs out. You can't see shit. You hear the roar of the fire all around you, and the smoke seems hell-bent on choking the life out of you now. Your eyes, nostrils, throat, everything's burning more painfully by the second.
You're not going to save anyone like this!
Joel... where ARE you... I need help! Don't be mad at me... I thought that guy was you... Jooooeeellllll... help me... pleeeease...
You pass out.
It would take a miracle to save you now.
