About Event

Join Zestyplan and the Canadian Centre for Food and Ecology for an engaging and delicious evening exploring one of Toronto’s biggest untapped climate opportunities: what we buy, cook, and eat.

Toronto has one of the most ambitious climate plans in North America, yet it still lacks a strategy to address one of the largest sources of household emissions — food. At the same time, Toronto is uniquely positioned to lead. With deep food culture, strong public readiness, and a rich network of local producers, distributors, restaurants, and community food organizations, the city has the ingredients to become a global example of how demand-side food action can drive climate progress.

During this session, we’ll share data showing how activating the demand side of the food system — our citizens — can help build a more sustainable and resilient food future for Toronto, while offering a model other cities can learn from.

Guests will also enjoy exceptional dishes featuring seasonal ingredients grown in this region, prepared by the talented culinary team at Care/Of.

About the Host: About the CCFE - As a national non-profit, we help impactful ideas get the attention they deserve. By connecting supply-side partners with their ideal audience, we inspire people to take action through food. Our goal? A delicious, healthy food system that works in harmony with nature.

About Zestyplan - Zestyplan partners with organizations to activate measurable, lasting behaviour change around food for their communities, employees and members. Food choices are the single highest-impact climate action individuals can take. But most people don't know it and most organizations aren't activating it. We built the platform that changes both.

The Depanneur - The Depanneur is an ongoing, evolving social and culinary experiment; a prototype and proof-of-concept exploring food’s role in building community, creating opportunity and celebrating diversity. It has evolved over the years into a convivial urban food hub where food producers, creators and consumers can connect to explore food ideas in a fun, informal setting.
