As some of you may already know- there will be another book in the Fallen series!

From the press release:

The novel, FALLEN IN LOVE, will be released in the United States and Canada on January 24th, 2012, before the forth and final title in the series, Rapture, is published. FALLEN IN LOVE is a riveting tale told through four intertwined love stories featuring the Fallen characters that fans have grown to know and love: Miles, Shelby, Roland, Arriane, and Luce and Daniel.

Casting Daniel Grigori & Lucinda Price

Nothing is official yet, but there have been rumors about Max Irons and Kaya Scodelario
being cast as Daniel/Lucinda in the upcoming Fallen movie. What do you guys think about this?

Personally, I think it would be awesome if it happened. I haven't seen Kaya in anything but I think she has the perfect look for Luce.
I love Max Irons and the idea of him being Daniel would just be wonderful! He's super hot and a good actor- what more could we ask? ;)

Even if Max & Kaya don't cast I'm still super excited for the movie. The movie will be produced by Disney (they bought the film rights back in 2010)
and is suppose to come out sometime in 2012. Filming will probably start later this year, so I'm sure we'll find out about the official cast very soon! :)

Lauren Kate answers questions from fans, talks about her inspiration/research for Fallen & Torment, gives her suggestions for casting ideas for the Fallen movie, and much more.

Here are some teasers from the interview:

"I love a doomed love story," declared author Lauren Kate, who recently visted the Philippines to promote Torment, the second book in her bestselling young adult paranormal romance series, Fallen.

"The idea of romance to me is not something like Jane Austen; it's more like The Great Gatsby, where everything is just screwed up and nothing's ever going to work out, but everybody's tragically in love with eathother. I think that's really interesting. These are the kind of romances that tend to show up in my books."

And what could by more doomed than the love between an angel and a mortal? It's doomed spelled with a capital D.

"I like the idea that there was this strange sacrifice for love," she explains. "To give up a very established place in whatever we imagine Heaven to be like, to come down to Earth to give [the relationship] a shot ... it felt like it could extend beyond just the two of them."

The movie has a tentative release date of 2012. It will be a big year for followers of Fallen- the Doomsday prophets will have a field day!- as the last book, Rapture, closes the series with the final battle between good and evil in the same year.

Beyond the projects, Lauren has been writing outtakes from Fallen that might later be collected into anthology, and she is considering writing books about the other characters in the series.

I found some interviews with Lauren Kate and thought I'd post a few teasers of them here.

She talks a bit about the next Fallen book "Torment".

Interview teaser #1:

How/why did the angels fall?
The angels fell because they placed something before God. The mistake varies from angel to angel: pride, apathy, love, even lust. The origin of my story centers upon angel who was cast from heaven for loving a mortal woman. He chose her over God. You know God, he doesn't like playing second fiddle to anyone. So the angels were cast out. Some were flung down to hell and stayed there. Some (a few that I've gotten to know very well) are roaming the earth right now.

It is clear that Luce and Daniel's relationship is part of something bigger- how and why?
What was only glimpsed in Fallen about Daniel and Luce's long history of love will be vastly expanded on in Torment, and even more so in Passion (the prequal I'm about to start working on). Very soon, readers will be able to see what makes their love so pure and so special, how and it's grown and changed over time, and why it's so essential that their love endure.

Interview teaser #2:

Can you tell us how you came up with the concept for FALLEN?
The idea began when I came across a line in Genesis that talked about a group of fallen angels who were kicked out of heaven because they lusted after mortal woman. (I later learned this idea is compounded in several other books in and out of the bible, including the apocryphal books, Enoch 1, 2, and 3). I started thinking about what it would be like to be a normal girl- suddenly the object of an angel's affections. All the excitement and the challenge that would bring naturally spring from that. As someone who's been writing love stories my whole life, this angel angle seemed like the perfect way for me to up the ante and tell a really BIG love story, one that brought in questions about trust and betrayal, and preconceived notions good and evil.
