LTN ENVIRONMENTAL
LTN Environmental Consulting LP (LTNE) is an Indigenous-owned partnership between Lheidli T’enneh First Nation and EDI Environmental Dynamics Inc. to provide professional environmental consulting services.
Lheidli T’enneh are Carrier First Nation peoples and reside in what is known today as Prince George, British Columbia (BC) and the surrounding region. The word Lheidli means “where the two rivers flow together” and T’enneh means “the People.” LTNE is guided by our principles and value systems. We empower Lheidli T’enneh youth in environmental fields by creating capacity through the advancement of technical skills, increasing the transfer of Indigenous Knowledge from Elders to youth, and between Lheidli T’enneh to the scientific community, thus helping our people build meaningful careers.

OUR SERVICES
Over the past 21 years, Lheidli T’enneh First Nation and EDI Environmental Dynamics Inc. have developed an effective and
mutually beneficial partnership conducting natural resource projects within Lheidli T’enneh Territory. During that time, we
have been able to share human resources, share jobs, and combine our skills and knowledge to complete an amazing array of natural resource
projects. These projects have ranged from fisheries inventories and research projects in the late 1990’s as elements of the Treaty
process and forestry operations, to more recent projects including Traditional Ecological Knowledge, aquatic/terrestrial biology, and
environmental monitoring in support of proposed and approved projects.

RECENT PROJECTS
PRINCE GEORGE IGU

The Prince George Interior Gas Upgrade (IGU) project involved scheduled infrastructure upgrades to the Fortis natural gas pipeline.
LTNE delivered environmental services including environmental monitoring and wildlife surveys for the project.
Through Fortis BC’s commitment to enhancing the Nation’s capacity, the project was specifically designed to mentor a junior Lheidli T’enneh member in environmental monitoring. By the end of the project, the individual was conducting independent field visits with senior technical support.

NECHAKO RIVER LONG-TERM WATER QUALITY MONITORING

Environment Canada operates many long-term water quality stations across the country. The Nechako River station in Prince George has been in
operation for over 40 years with bi-weekly sampling. LTNE has been conducting the sampling since 2020. A Lheidli T’enneh member has
conducted the sampling for much of this duration. This sampling requires following proper procedures to ensure consistent data over the
decades long data set.
WATERCOURSE ASSESSMENTS FOR RIPARIAN PROTECTION DEVELOPMENT PERMITS

Detailed watercourse assessments are required as part of a Riparian Protection Development Permit Application for landowners or developers within the riparian area of a fish bearing watercourse in Prince George. These assessments are conducted by Qualified Professionals (QPs) to assess the risk of development on the watercourse and riparian values. A primary outcome of these assessments, along with a top of bank survey, is a recommendation by the QP for an appropriate riparian setback distance to mitigate development risks. LTNE has provided several of these to various clients to assist them with their permit applications.
