It cleaned up all the snow and turned it back to its original snow white color.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So what?&#8221; you might ask. &#8220;What does that have to do with computer sales?&#8221;<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-46977\" src=\"http:\/\/lowendmac.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tf.png\" alt=\"Tangerine Fusion\" width=\"618\" height=\"62\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lowendmac.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tf.png 1236w, https:\/\/lowendmac.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tf-160x16.png 160w, https:\/\/lowendmac.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tf-320x32.png 320w, https:\/\/lowendmac.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tf-768x76.png 768w, https:\/\/lowendmac.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/tf-640x64.png 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 618px) 100vw, 618px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Well, it&#8217;s quite simple: Apple Computer, which was once almost invisible to the computer purchaser, has cleaned up the computer industry just like Voom, from the microscopic Little Cat Z, cleaned up the snow.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-32140\" src=\"http:\/\/lowendmac.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/emachines-eone.jpg\" alt=\"eMachines eOne\" width=\"208\" height=\"186\" \/>Major PC manufacturers like Compaq have laid off thousands. eMachines has ripped off the iMac&#8217;s industrial design with its <a href=\"http:\/\/lowendmac.com\/1999\/the-emachines-eone\/\">eOne<\/a> and is facing a lawsuit. Hewlett-Packard, Compaq, Packard Bell, and others have copied Apple by offering several translucent colors for their machines with color coordinated peripherals. and it was the Apple iMac that popularized Intel&#8217;s USB standard because (1) it sold like hotcakes and (2) it had no other ports to compete with USB.<\/p>\n<p>I am reminded of a current ad for the Swiffer, a dust mop that uses static cling to pull the dust in and make it stick to the mop. The voice-over says: &#8220;Once Swiffer arrives on the scene, the scene will be much easier to clean.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This also reflects one feature of Apple&#8217;s new computers: They clean up their surroundings.
