All of it is under the cut :)
Others made with this tutorial (with varied settings):

Step One - First, pick an icon that has very dull coloring and is outdoorsy-looking. this is very important! If you pick an icon that is already bright, it will turn out with a horrible contrast and it will just look terrible! The picture i picked had hardly any color, but had potential to have a good result (it had a nice background that when saturation was raised, really brought out the color). Crop, lighten, brighten your base. Whatever you'd like, just don't sharpen or raise the saturation!
Step Two - Make a new Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. Raise the Saturation to anywhere from 20-50. I used 50 for my base.
Step Three - Make a new Selective Color Adjustment Layer. Make the settings as follows (you may have to adjust the reds + yellows to fit your image)
REDS
C: -100
Y: +100
YELLOWS
C: -100
Y: +100
GREENS
C: +100
M: -100
Y: +100
B: +100
BLUES
C: +100
M: +100
Y: +100
B: +18
WHITES
C: +42
M: -32
Y: -100
B: -100
NEUTRALS
C: -3
M: -19
Y: -18
BLACKS
B: +100
Step Four - Make a new fill layer and fill with #FFEC3B. Set it to softlight at %13
Step Five - Make a new fill layer and fill with #FC8585. Set it to overlay at %13
&Voila :)
Hope it was simple enough.
Please show me your results.
