For this iteration of the ESPN College Football Playoffs branding package, LOVATT worked with Tendril to build systems to support a wide variety of customization options.
Our broadcast toolkit consisted of a number of 2d & 3d shots, transitions, and layouts, each with their own unique needs & technical challenges to solve.
The key feature across all components was the ability to showcase different teams competing in this year's playoff season.
LOVATT was trusted to build controls for injecting primary & secondary team logos, team names & cities, specific team brand colours, as well as unique showcase textural patterns per asset.
With some quick controls, ESPN's motion team could easily iterate and adjust elements while preserving graphical fidelity & render speed.
Aside from the CG-heavy components, this brand identity included a series of graphical elements & compositing treatments.
Following Tendril's creative direction, LOVATT ensured that all 2d elements were able to be easily customized without any end artist needing to get into the weeds of complicated compositing rigs.
