  • “Why are you downcast, my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.”
    — Psalm 42:11

    PREACH HOPE TO YOURSELF

In this psalm, the psalmist speaks to himself. “My soul” is addressed, questioned, exhorted. He is in dialogue with himself. “Why are you downcast?”

“Put your hope in God,” he says to his soul. It is a command the psalmist gives himself. Hope, in moments of despondency, is not a feeling that arises spontaneously. It is a deliberate decision to remember who God is and to accept submitting to His will for us.

“For I will yet praise him,” I am not yet praising him. But I know that I will praise him. Hope manifests itself between the "not yet" and the "yet" that is to come. And the path that leads to praise passes through this word we speak to ourselves.

In your moments of discouragement, on this day when you ask yourself many questions, put into practice what the psalmist does: speak to your soul. Ask it: why are you downcast? Remind it who God is and what He has done. This will transform the state of your soul.

May the Lord teach us to preach hope to ourselves in moments when it is absent. For He is our salvation and our God. May God bless you.

praise is a language - speak it
    A WORD FOR YOU.

My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord : and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever. Psalm 145:21 KJV.

MY MOUTH SHALL SPEAK PRAISE! Praise is a language. Praise is not just a lifestyle, it is not just a tool, it is the language of the believers. Just as tongues is the language of the spirit.
Praise is a lifestyle - LIVE IT!
Praise is a tool - USE IT!
Praise is a language - SPEAK IT!
David spoke always, No wonder he never lost any battle! You too can.

In Revelation 4:8: ...the four beasts... they rest not, day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty...
When you wake up, make: thank you Jesus or thank you father your first language. In crises, in unfavorable situations, while walking on the road, in the street, at home or work, everyday, at every place and time: SPEAK THE LANGUAGE. As you speak it, use it and live it, watch how your life will turnaround in Jesus precious name. Stay refreshed!

  • I come before You this Friday morning, Lord, seeking Your wisdom to guide every step I take today. Set my heart on Your truth, and let Your peace guard my mind as I face the tasks ahead. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. I confess my dependence on Your grace, Jesus, and I cling to the hope that through Your sacrifice I am reconciled to the Father. Let Your mercy cover my failures and Your Spirit empower my courage to speak truth, love mercy, and walk humbly before You.

Lord, I pray for favor in the moments I meet opposition, for wisdom to discern Your will, and for faith to move mountains in Your name. The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles. May Your presence dwell richly in me, producing patience, gentleness, and boldness to testify of Your goodness. I entrust this day to You, Jesus, praying in Your name, Amen.

Humility isn’t about thinking less of yourself; it’s about thinking of yourself less. It is a quiet strength that can be integrated into your routine through these small, intentional actions:

    1. In conversations—whether professional meetings or casual chats—make it a goal to listen more than you speak. Asking a genuine question about someone else’s perspective before offering your own validates their worth and keeps your ego in check.

    2. Perform one small act of service each day that no one will ever know about. This could be tidying up a shared space, finishing a task for a colleague without taking credit, or leaving an anonymous note of encouragement. This trains the heart to value the act over the recognition.

    3. When you drop the ball, admit it immediately without adding "but" or shifting the blame. Saying, "I was wrong, and I'm sorry," is one of the most direct ways to practice humility. It builds trust and reminds you that perfection isn't the goal—growth is.

    4. If someone else receives praise or succeeds in a project, be the first to congratulate them. Genuinely celebrating another person's success helps quiet the "selfish ambition" mentioned in Philippians and reinforces the idea that there is enough room for everyone to thrive.

At the end of the day, take two minutes to reflect on a moment where you put someone else's needs ahead of your own. It’s a great way to stay grounded before the next day begins.

  • How Not to Pray
    Matthew 6:1-8

I have started the last few lessons on the Beatitudes the same way. A reminder that Jesus’ emphasis here is essentially both the need for and the inadequacy of the Law. Jesus is contrasting what was currently being taught (the Law) with a higher purpose for following the law than for the sake of obedience. So do not be surprised when this lesson begins the same way.

In Jesus’ day, the motivation behind charitable giving was to garner attention. The Pharisees would pray out loud, with flowery language and yes sometimes even announcing their prayer or giving by blowing trumpets. They are saying, “Look at me, I'm so charitable, I'm about to demonstrate my charity.” OR, “Hear me, I am about to impress you with my many words to the Lord in prayer.”

Jesus is again emphasizing the heart. And is saying that if a religious person is doing these things, the reward they will receive is the attention they expect to receive. There is no eternal or heavenly reward for seeking attention.

To understand this consider those Christians today who go to the extra effort of praying in King James English to sound more holy, or more righteous. The English terminology of the King James Bible does not make one's prayer more holy, righteous or acceptable to God than the type of language you use to communicate with those around you.

No one speaks in 400 year old languages to one another, they speak normally on a casual basis. So when Jesus begins His ‘Pray in this way’ lesson a little later He isnt emphasizing the “thee's”, “thou's” and “thithers” language, He's emphasizing the heart.

He's saying, don't do this for attention, in fact it's better if you are going to do it, to not even remember you are doing so. If you're going to pray, do it quietly, from the heart. If you're going to give, do it because there is a need, not because you want others to “see” you meeting the need.

Christians do this today in a number of ways. They give for the purposes of getting praised for their giving. “Look at what we raised here.” Placing your rarely given checks into the offering plate face up so everyone sees the amount you give is your reward. Because that is not biblical giving.

[Yes, we knew what you were doing Larry. We knew the whole time. ]

A one word prayer can have more meaning, more depth than a prayer hours long with flowery, beautiful language and plenty of “thee’s and thou’s” sprinkled in for good measure. And before he begins teaching on how to pray he concludes his lesson on how not to pray. And the lesson is that prayer and giving is to be from the heart, not for attention and not to give the appearance of holiness.

So to summarize the entirety of his lesson thus far it is, “Neither The Law nor following it perfectly can save your soul, only by being as righteous and as perfect as those who can attain neither righteousness or perfection can you be saved and inherit eternal life.” Got it so far?

    Matthew 6:1-8

[1] “Take care not to practice your righteousness in the sight of people, to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven. [2] “So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, so that they will be praised by people. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. [3] But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, [4] so that your charitable giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. [5] “And when you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they will be seen by people. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. [6] But as for you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door, and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. [7] “And when you are praying, do not use thoughtless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard because of their many words. [8] So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.

  • TODAY'S MESSAGE

    SERMON TITLE:

“THE MONTH OF MAY – ITS SPIRITUAL IMPORTANCE”

Beloved, every new month is not just a change of calendar—it is a shift in the spirit.

You did not enter this month by accident. You have stepped into a divinely arranged season. The question is not whether May has something for you… the question is: Are you spiritually positioned to receive it?

Some will pass through this month casually.
Others will step into it intentionally—and their lives will not remain the same.

This month, heaven is asking you:
Will you just exist… or will you engage?

    KEY BIBLE VERSES.

    1. Ecclesiastes 3:1
"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven."
Every month carries divine purpose. May is not empty—it is loaded with assignment and opportunity.
    2. Psalm 65:11
"Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness."
God decorates seasons with blessings. This means months can be crowned with goodness if you align with God.
    3. Isaiah 43:19
"Behold, I will do a new thing…" God is always initiating new beginnings.
Revelation: May can be your month of newness, if you are spiritually alert.

    STRUCTURED POINTS

    1. May Is a Month of Divine Alignment

Before blessing manifests, alignment must occur.
Align your thoughts with God’s Word
Align your actions with His will
Truth: When alignment is right, results follow naturally.
    2. May Is a Month of New Beginnings
    God specializes in fresh starts.
    New opportunities
    New strength
    New direction
Truth: What did not work before can begin to work now.
    3. May Is a Month of Growth and Maturity
    Spiritually, God expects progress—not stagnation.
    Deeper prayer life
    Stronger faith
    Greater discipline
Truth: Growth is intentional, not accidental.
    4. May Is a Month of Divine Favor
God can accelerate what has been delayed.
    Doors can open suddenly
    Help can arise unexpectedly
Truth: One moment of favor can change everything.

    BIBLICAL CASE STUDY

Case Study: The Children of Israel (Exodus 12–14)

There was a specific time when God moved Israel out of bondage.

The night of Passover was a set time
Their deliverance was not random—it was scheduled
    Within a short period:
They moved from slavery to freedom
    From oppression to progress
Lesson: When God’s time comes, things move quickly.

    PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS

    1. Start the Month with Prayer and Dedication
    Commit May into God’s hands.

God moves with timing, but man must respond with readiness.
A new month does not automatically mean new results—new alignment does.

    QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION

    1. How did I handle the previous month spiritually?
    2. What must change in my life this month?
    3. Am I aligned with God’s will?
    4. What habits do I need to start or stop?
    5. What am I trusting God for this May?

    POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS

    1. Father, let this month of May be filled with Your goodness in my life!
    2. Lord, align me with Your purpose and will!
    3. Every delay from previous months, be broken now!
    4. I step into new beginnings and fresh opportunities!
    5. Let divine favor locate me this month!
    6. I will not miss my blessings this May in Jesus’ name!

    STRONG CLOSING CALL TO ACTION

This month will not respond to wishes—it will respond to intentionality.

If you walk into May casually, you may walk out the same way.
But if you engage it spiritually, your story can change.
    Refuse to be passive.
    Refuse to be distracted.
    Refuse to be average.
Rise up and take charge of your month!

    Declare boldly:

“This month of May, I align with God’s purpose, I walk in favor, and I step into new beginnings!”
    Go forward with faith
    May will answer to you!

TODAY'S MESSAGE SERMON TITLE: “THE MONTH OF MAY – ITS SPIRITUAL IMPORTANCE” Beloved, every new month is not just a change of calendar—it is a shift in the spirit. You did not enter this month by accident. You have stepped into a divinely arranged season. The question is not whether May has something for you… the question is: Are you spiritually positioned to receive it? Some will pass through this month casually. Others will step into it intentionally—and their lives will not remain the same. This month, heaven is asking you: Will you just exist… or will you engage? KEY BIBLE VERSES. 1. Ecclesiastes 3:1 "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven." Every month carries divine purpose. May is not empty—it is loaded with assignment and opportunity. 2. Psalm 65:11 "Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness." God decorates seasons with blessings. This means months can be crowned with goodness if you align with God. 3. Isaiah 43:19 "Behold, I will do a new thing…" God is always initiating new beginnings. Revelation: May can be your month of newness, if you are spiritually alert. STRUCTURED POINTS 1.
