Lone Wolf Rust is second-to-none when it comes to actively maintaining a clean, fair cheater-free playing environment for our community. Through years of data collection and observation we have developed a highly effective and intelligent "Lone Wolf Rust Firewall System" that prevents high risk or known cheater accounts from joining.
Your Steam Account must meet the following requirements in order to pass our Firewall and join Lone Wolf Rust (exceptions may be requested in Discord):
Bans
Bans are an enforcement action taken against a player's Steam account in response to a violation of our rules. Banned players will be unable to join and play on Lone Wolf Rust for the duration of their ban. Bans may be temporary or permanent depending upon the severity of the violation and the impact to our community and players.
All bans placed by Lone Wolf Rust Staff must meet the following criteria:
- Bans must be in response to a violation of a pre-existing and written rule (no bans for unwritten rules).
- Bans must be placed after actual evidence is collected by staff to prove a violation occurred (no bans for unproven accusations/suspicion).
- Bans must typically be placed in a relatively timely fashion (no bans for violations months/years ago - except for cheating).
Ban Appeals
Banned players may submit a Ban Appeal in an attempt to have their ban overturned, forgiven, or reduced.
Appeals must meet the following requirements:
- Ban Appeals must only be submitted once for a specific ban. Once the decision is provided it is final and may not be re-appealed at any time.
- Ban Appeals must be submitted by the player that was banned. No appeals on behalf of other players.
- Ban Appeals must be submitted in a civil manner. We reserve the right to immediately reject appeals that contain threats, excessive toxicity, or libel/slander.
- Ban Appeals must be submitted and handled solely through our ticketing system and Ban Appeal process (details below).
Submitting an Appeal
Ban Appeals must be submitted through our Discord ticketing system:
- Verify and link your Steam and Discord accounts at link.lonewolfrust.gg
- Join our Discord server at discord.gg/lonewolf
- Confirm that you are able to receive Direct Messages (DMs) in Discord from server members.
- Go to the #open-a-ticket channel and click the "Ban Appeal" button.
- You will receive a DM from our "Lone Wolf Support" bot. Please answer each question fully and completely.
- Once all questions have been answered, your appeal will be sent automatically to our Staff Team.
- Final decisions will be delivered via this sytem and you will receive the outcome via DM.
Ban Evasion
Ban Evasion is never allowed and will result in a permanent unappealable ban of all Steam accounts associated to you and your household / residential network.
Ban Evasion / Firewall Evasion: The creation, purchase, or use of a different account to evade or bypass a gameban, VAC ban, ban placed directly by the Lone Wolf Rust Staff or an Entry Requirement enforced by the Lone Wolf Rust Firewall.
Lone Wolf Rust has an aggressive zero tolerance policy when it comes to (past or present) cheating, script-assisted gameplay, exploit abuse, and association with cheating communities. Our proprietary LoneWolfRust.GG Anti-Cheat System and our diligent Staff Team actively detect the usage of cheats such as (but not limited to): aimbot, autoclickers, ESP, no recoil, spinhacks, physics cheats, and others.
- Cheating: The usage of cheats, scripts, macros, and/or programs to gain an unfair advantage over other players on Lone Wolf Rust is monitored, prohibited, and will result in a permanent ban from Lone Wolf Rust.
- Exploiting: The usage of exploits/glitches that introduce an unfair/unintended advantage over other players is not allowed.
- Association: Players found to be associated with cheating communities, especially for Rust, are not allowed to join the server.
Any violations of these rules will result in a permanent ban. Autoclicker bans specifically may be appealed once.
- This is strictly a Solo Only server. Players are expected to obey the rules and spirit of Solo Only gameplay at all times. If at any time, multiple players coordinate to change the dynamic of gameplay to create an environment where their coordination creates a real and direct benefit over a solo player without such cooperation - that gameplay is subject to evaluation, fair warning, and potential action by Staff Members.
- Kill-on-Sight or KoS is a ruleset that goes into effect in specific situations to ensure fair solo gameplay. Once activated, all players in the immediate area MUST either:
- A - Immediately engage in combat with nearby players or
- B - Immediately flee the nearby area.
- KoS Activation: You must kill on sight (KOS) during PvP combat occurs nearby (see "Hot Zones" below), during raids/counter-raids, at monuments (large and small), at heli/cargo and other events, air drops, and at decaying bases.
- "Hot Zones" are the immediate area around a player vs. player combat situation.
- Once PvP combat is initiated, the immediate area is considered a hostile hotzone and KoS rules are in effect and all nearby players are mandated to follow the KoS rules.
- Tactical Considerations for KoS: When KoS rule are in effect, brief momentary "tactical pauses" (waiting a few seconds before shooting/fleeing) are allowed for individiaul players if all three apply:
- No prior communication exists between players involved.
- No coordinated/mutual advantage is gained between the players.
- The pause does not provide an unfair strategic benefit over any individual player.
- No "meatshield"/bait, coordinated diversions, or other teaming behaviors occur.
Trading & Donations: - Trading between players is allowed using drop trades, vending machines, shopfronts, and drones.
- Trades must be relatively equal for each of the two participants and they must be made in realtime.
- Donations to other players are never allowed and will result in a ban.
Kill on Sight (KOS):
Check our Solo Only Guidelines below for more information on trading and donations.
Solo Only Guidelines - What is Not Allowed?
-
Bases/Authorizations:
- Sharing/Donating/Trading any base to/with another player – even if you are quitting. Once you seal a base it is considered yours and falls within this rule.
- Sharing authorization on tool cupboards, code locks, turrets, and sharing keys for key locks is prohibited.
- Entering another players base or compound for ANY reason besides raiding or other aggressive actions. Conversely, willingly letting a player inside your base or compound for ANY reason – except to trap and immediately kill them.
- Donating or giving away items. It MUST be a fair trade/exchange of items. No lopsided trades (some charcoal for an M2, etc). We give a very wide range for what is acceptable – if you’re even remotely trying to keep the trade fair we won’t bother you.
- Looting a player and then giving the loot back at a later time or in a different location. Take what you want, immediately drop what you do not want, and move on. Returning loot is now allowed as long as it is immediate.
- Counter-raiding a base and letting any players in the area live.
- Donating or sharing raid loot (or decayed base loot) to other players that show up to the raid or thereafter.
- Forming any kind of agreement with another player during a raid or any other situation covered by the KOS rules.
- Any PvP scenario where 2 players (Players A & B) engage in PvP with another player (Player C) but do not then engage in PvP with each other. You must KoS in hot zones.
- Services/slaving of any kind including taxis.
- Placing down a bag for another player, for any reason, as well as knowingly allowing a bag to be placed on your behalf.
- Two or more players all willingly riding in a vehicle together.
- Roaming, looting monuments and/or decayed bases together, including completing puzzles together.
- Using video, voice, or out-of-game text communication in collaboration with other players to gain an unfair advantage.

Solo Only Guidelines - What is Allowed?
- Being generally friendly to others in the community. This is encouraged.
- Agreements to be friendly with your neighbors. However - you may never defend your neighbors base or otherwise break our Solo Only rules and guidelines.
- Trades must be made in realtime, must be item(s)-for-item(s), one transaction where possible, and must be relatively fair/equal. This applies to all types of trading: drop trades, shopfront trades, vending machines.
- If you encounter another player, you are not required to Kill-On-Sight unless it is a raid/decayed base/monument/event/hotzone (ex: Bradley).
- Talking to other players in global chat, including calling out booms, base locations, etc.
We acknowledge the aggressive nature of Rust and do not intervene in normal communications (trash talk, insults, etc) unless it violates the guidelines below. These guidelines apply to global chat, voice chat, and in-game content such as signs/fireworks/notes/bags/shops/etc:
- The use of racial or homophobic slurs is not allowed. Slurs will be censored and you will be muted temporarily. Repeated slurs or attempting to bypass our censor will result in a permanent mute or potential ban.
- Doxxing (using/leaking real life identifiable information of another player) is prohibited and will result in a permanent ban.
- Threats of real-life harm against players or staff are prohibited and will result in a mute or permanent ban depending upon severity.
- Excessively toxic communications such as (but not limited to): encouraging self-harm, persistent and flagrant harassment, etc is not allowed and will result in a mute or ban depending upon severity.
- Spamming / advertising / poaching to other servers of any kind is prohibited and will result in appropriate action being taken against the offending account.
- Communications that violate the Terms of Service for Steam, Facepunch, or Rust and/or local applicable laws are prohibited.
Additionally, calling out or accusing players of cheating or teaming in global chat is not allowed as it helps potential rulebreakers evade detection. Please see "Reporting Players" below for more information.
- Players are expected to use the in-game report system (press the F7 key while in Rust) AND use our Discord ticketing system (#open-a-ticket channel in Discord.GG/lonewolf) to provide additional information to our staff team when reporting players.
- Under no circumstances can a player on Lone Wolf servers call out cheaters or teamers in-game using global chat. Once a player is “called out” – they know they are being watched and will discontinue their behavior. This prevents our Staff Team from monitoring the activity, collecting evidence, and progressing the investigation.
- Due to this, players who call out teamers or cheaters in chat will be temporarily muted (first time). We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in effectively reporting and helping us promptly remove these kinds of negative players.
- Note: Using the F7 report system will trigger an automatic in-game recording of the reported player which is immediately sent to our Staff Team for review. This is an instrumental component of our investigations.

- Ethics & Integrity: The Lone Wolf Rust Staff Team is committed to performing our duties with the highest level of ethics, integrity, and honesty in all interactions.
- No Gameplay by Staff: The Lone Wolf Rust Staff Team (Owners, Directors, Managers, Supervisors, Administrators) will never play on any of our servers as a player for any reason.
- Staff Members are frequently connected and online in-game for monitoring purposes. While monitoring, the Staff Team may speak in global chat and engage with players in a friendly fashion. However, they are not playing or otherwise interacting with the physical in-game environment whatsoever.
- Player Moderators are excluded from this policy as they are normal players whose only advantage is the ability to place a temporary in-game mute. They do not have access to any other info or tools beyond a regular player.
- No In-Game Manipulation by Staff: The Lone Wolf Rust Staff Team is committed to not artificially impacting the natural state and progression of gameplay on our servers. We will never use our powers, permissions, or capabilities to impact gameplay.
- No spawning of items or entities.
- Exception 1: In the event of a server crash or major server-caused issue, players are eligible for lost items to be returned/compensated by Staff Team using our #open-a-ticket support system.
- Exception 2: We do reward our entire community with Pookie Bears for special occasions (or to compensate for crashes/inconveniences). These are in-game teddy bears that are placeable and provide a comfort bonus.
- Exception 3: Very rarely, for server achievements (successful wipe days, reaching max pop, players achieving high playtime hours, server birthdays, reaching a high rank on BM), we may also hand out Coffins or other items to all online players.
- No changing the in-game time or weather.
- No removal or relocation of walls/objects/entities.
- No modification of decay rates, gather rates, or spawn rates.
- No Power Abuse:
- All actions taken by Staff Members must have a legitimate business purpose for performing the action.
- All actions taken against players must have sufficient evidence collected in advanced to ensure certainty and validity of the mute/ban. All evidence must be reviewed by a human prior to issuance of the mute/ban.
- Any actions taken by Staff Members that are deemed excessive, spiteful, retaliatory, ego-driven, or otherwise improper will result in reversal of the action taken and immediate action taken against the Staff Member including potential dismissal.
- All information, data, and toolsets provided to Lone Wolf Rust Staff Members are strictly for the purpose of maintaining and enforcing our in-game rulesets, guidelines, and policies. The use of this information for any other purpose, or the sharing of this information to non-staff members, will result in immediate termination.
- Lone Wolf Rust reserves the right to update the official rules, guidelines, and policies at any time.
- Lone Wolf Rust reserves the right to deny service to any player for any reason at the full discretion of the Staff Team.
- The official rules, guidelines, and policies of Lone Wolf Rust are not considered all-encompassing.
- Players should use common sense and act in good faith while playing on our servers.
- Any player found to be substantively harmful to the overall community or the server itself may be removed accordingly.
- Just because a specific situation is not covered in detail by our rules does not mean it is allowed.
- When in doubt, please reach out to our Staff Team with questions to avoid any potential issues.
