What does accreditation mean now for the NEI?
The NEI will continue its tradition and practice of accrediting educational content for all of the NEI certifications (CCS, CES, MCS, and MES); however, now it will also accredit content for the purpose of LCB continuing education. We have worked to align the criteria to assess the eligibility for LCB accreditation with the NEI certification programs where it makes sense. In other words, CCS, CES, MCS, and MES eligible content will automatically meet LCB eligibility according to the following accreditation criteria:
- The activity promotes an understanding of the laws and regulations governing CBP or enforced by CBP, including relevant laws and regulations of CBP’s partner government agencies.
- The activity contributes directly to CBP’s trade priorities, programs, policies, and/or business practices.
- The activity provides understanding of U.S. imports and exports.
- The activity conveys information intended to increase and improve U.S. trade compliance and enhance risk management.
The accreditation standards as expressed in the criteria are meant to be straightforward and welcoming. At the end of the day, if you are reading this you just might be interested in playing a role toward raising the professionalism of our vital, dynamic industry through continuing education for trade professionals.
We recommend submitting your accreditation application at least two weeks prior to your event.
