Locogen is delighted that Fair Play Clean Energy Ltd (a joint venture comprising of Thrive Renewables and TopCashback Sustainability) and Triple Point have concluded project funding for the Whitelaw Brae wind farm project, enabling the completion of construction of this 57MW wind farm transmission connected project in the Scottish Borders.
Locogen originally provided acquisition due diligence for this project, before taking on the role of Lender’s technical advisor on behalf of Triple Point for the pre-financial close technical due diligence and ongoing construction monitoring.
The wind farm comprises of 14 Vestas V117 turbines and is on track to be commissioned by the end of 2026. Once operational, Whitelaw Brae will be capable of generating up to 149,000 MWh of clean electricity per year – the equivalent of powering over 45,000 average UK homes.
Our Wind Technical Director, Ian McLean says: “It has been a really great project to work on and very satisfying to see it reach financial close. The team at Locogen are looking forward to continuing our relationship with the project, Thrive Renewables and Triple Point with ongoing construction monitoring works through 2026.”
