Frequently Asked Questions
how is mdo staffed?
All of the MDO staff are carefully screened, and have a wide range of educational and/or work experience to enable them to provide a nurturing environment in which children can thrive.
does mdo follow a curriculum?
Teachers follow a Bible and academic curriculum, both of which are designed to be age-appropriate for each class. Bible stories are shared each day and classroom activities are often based on the lessons. Many classes work on Scripture memory as well as how to apply Bible truths. Each class incorporates age-appropriate activities to promote development and growth in areas of fine and gross motor skills, problem solving, color/shape/letter recognition, creative thinking, etc. Special themes throughout the year focus on things such as community helpers, the four seasons, nature, and reading. Classes participate in music and P.E. class each day, as well as work on listening, following directions, decision-making, and social skills. Pre-K classes prepare children for kindergarten with phonics, mathematics, science, and handwriting.
does my child need to be potty-trained to attend mdo?
We recognize that children reach this milestone at different ages. However, all children enrolled in any of the Pre-K (ages 4-5) classes are required to be fully potty-trained.
