<lj-template name="qotd" lang="en_LJ">

Oh my god this is such a good question.

Positively has to be this one.

and it came to me then that every plan is a tiny prayer to Father Time

I want to make a challenge

to all people out there who think that the humanities and the arts are expendable in public education. To all who think, no, we don't need those, and those are weakening us in the work world. Among these people, of course, is a very gifted and well-written, well-researched, and well spoken man named Fareed Zakaria (you'll find this opinion of his at the 2:20 mark). I sincerely admire this man (though cynicism will soon follow), and I almost always enjoy what he has to say.

<lj-embed id="18" /></lj-embed>

To all who hold this opinion: I want to challenge you to live the rest of your lives not viewing a single piece of art, film, production, written work, not listening to any piece of music, and not otherwise participating in any kind of artistic experience that was created by someone who was formally educated (public or private institution) in the arts or humanities.

I will believe and fully respect your opinion if you limit your cathartic artistic experiences, for the rest of your lives, to that of your child's fingerpaints and plastic xylophone hitting.
