#25 [action/voice] - beginnings

[action]
[Now that it's not freezing anymore, Koakuma has decided to chance it and go for a swim over at the lake. It's still at least somewhat-cold out and she's half-expecting a certain fairy to pop up out of nowhere without a single moment's notice, sure, and she's prepared to deal with all of that, still at least carrying her winter coat with her just in case. But, she really, really wants to be sure she hasn't forgotten how to swim over the course of four months.

She starts with the basics, walking in and wading around before trying to push off...and nearly faceplants for a few attempts before she remembers to adjust for her wings. Even after making adjustments her movements are still a bit jerky and she can never really get herself to go in even a relatively-straight line, but it's better than nothing, she figures. She is out of practice, after all. If anyone else is out by the lake at this time, maybe they could give her some pointers.

This continues for at least a short time, before she's decided that she's had enough and needs to turn her attention to more-important things. On her way back out of the water, she stops. There it was again, the same sound she heard the last few times. Was she still imagining things, or was there actually something out here? Rather than dismiss it as nothing this time, she makes a note to seriously investigate it later; it couldn't just be coincidence that she kept hearing the same thing in the same place multiple times.

For now, though, she has other plans that need to be put into action, and so she picks up her journal to send a short message. The intended recipient would know what it's about.]

[voice; to Adell, 20%]
[Her voice comes across as sounding a bit tired, which is unsurprising considering a few of the events that took place during this past month as well as the fact that she was just out in the water not even ten minutes ago, but at the same time it sounds determined. And maybe slightly distracted.]

Adell, I think I'm ready. What time would be good for you? What place, too? And, um...see if Meiling wants to help.

#24 [action] - frustration

[morning @ House 44]
[Koakuma begins her day the same way she usually does: by nearly faceplanting her way out of bed. Once she's awake—or close enough to it—she glances across the room, and her expression immediately goes from tired to sour. Patchouli still isn't back yet, and while she is admittedly-worried, Koa is also angry that she hadn't been picked to go and help.

Leaving her room in a slight hurry and heading to the kitchen to decide what to eat, she can't help but notice that Adell is still not present as well—which only serves to worsen her mood. She does remain in the house for awhile, but pretty soon, she decides that she needs to do something and keep herself busy and take her mind off of things. Her first thought in that regard is to try to do some work, so it's off to the library for her.]

[early/mid-afternoon @ library]
[At the library, she goes about her usual business, which mostly involves re-shelving any returns. There aren't too many that need to be put back this time, so this diversion—unfortunately for her—turns out to be short-lived. With little work to actually do, she starts reading random books instead...which similarly proves to be no real help at all. Eventually she gives this up out of frustration, leaves a note for Estelle to say she might be back later, and heads out to just...walk around.]

[late afternoon/early evening @ lake]
[Her walk eventually leads her to the lake. It's thankfully not snowing this time, but the wind is still somewhat-annoying. She makes a couple laps around the lake itself, looking directly into it at a couple points but not once thinking of jumping in—it's still too cold for that.

Eventually, she stops, and starts looking around in slight confusion. Just like the last time she was out here, she could almost swear that she hears something. It isn't anyone's voice, that much is clear... Maybe she's just imagining things again. Maybe. After an investigation into this, taking upwards of an hour this time rather than just a few minutes, she continues her walk, then is on her way back to the library for a minute, and then eventually back to the house.]

[evening @ House 44]
[Housemates in particular may notice that when she returns, Koa seems a little distracted compared to how she was earlier in the day...almost lost in thought, which might be a first.]

(ooc: As usual, note the time-of-day and location when tagging. Additionally, catching her on the way to or from these places is okay.)

#23 [action] - me and my shiny new scissors

[During the early afternoon, Koakuma is out for a walk near the lake. It's still particularly-cold out, so she doesn't plan on attempting to swim or anything. But she does appear to like it here when the weather isn't just completely out to get her, so here she is.

At a few points during this walk, she stops and looks around for no discernible reason, as if something caught her attention...but what? Whatever it is, it isn't terribly clear, and after a few minutes of investigation, she dismisses it as her imagination and simply goes back to what she was doing.

Later in the day, after she's returned to the village, she can be found wandering one of the stores, picking up a handful of different items: a tape measure, assorted ribbons, bows, and clips of different colors, three different sizes of combs, and one really shiny new pair of scissors. What exactly does she plan on doing with that?

Once she's done in the store, it's straight back to the house for her.]

#22 [voice/audio] - time sure flies... (backdated: January 16)

[backdated to January 16.]

[There's the noise of a little cough over the journal, followed by around a minute or so of silence before Koakuma speaks up.]

I-it's...it's been a year now, hasn't it. I don't think I was expecting to be here this long... [A nervous laugh.] It's not really too bad, though! I mean, u-um. [AWKWARD SILENCE.] My family's here— [Probably the closest thing she has to one, anyway!] —a-and I've made a few friends, and—whoa!

[—thump thump thump CRASH.]

O-o-ow...
#21 [action] - something oddly familiar

[The library seems quite crowded compared to normal today, and Koakuma is busting her butt trying to help keep things relatively sane given all of the apparent newcomers. This sort of jump in population is strange, to say the very least...just what was going on?

As she goes about her work, she also casts uncertain glances to a specific shelf along the northernmost wall, almost as if she's expecting something to happen at any moment. Why? She isn't particularly sure, but something about it has been nagging at her...]

(eta: tags will be slow, as I have stuff going on.)

#20 [action] - unexpected changes

[If you're in the Battle Dome during the earlier part of this day, you might see Koakuma waking up in one of the rooms. Moments after she does, however, the simulation starts up seemingly of its own volition—but who knows, someone could have been about to go in and weren't expecting for a mallynap victim to be returned here—and she is quickly surrounded. Not yet realizing where she is and believing she is being ambushed again with the incident in the library still fresh in her mind, there is no time to think, only react; she isn't going to let herself be taken again.

Any spectators watching the specific room she was placed in will notice clouds of darkness swirling in from the corners, collecting around the center of the room and obscuring the view of anything taking place within them. The sound is generally muffled by the glass and walls surrounding the room, but from the vague amounts of motion that can be detected, there is some kind of fight taking place within the shadowy blob. It ends with what looks like a small series of lightning bolts all striking the center of the cloud simultaneously, dispersing it and making it clear that whatever just happened, Koakuma had successfully managed to fight back, but judging from the look on her face, even she isn't too sure of what just went on—a quick glance to her hands told her that it wasn't what she thought it could have been.]

(ooc: Obviously, Koakuma has been brought back from her mallynapping. As for the effect of the mallynapping, since I didn't want to subject her to something that could cause actual problems for her housemates, though, I decided on just giving her the in-game powers of a Disgaea!Succubus for a week or two to add to the general awkwardness that happens to be House 44.

Additionally, she can't respond to text/voice/video on this post right away without borrowing someone else's journal or returning to the house first; her journal had been left behind in the library when she was taken, and has since likely been brought back to her room to wait for her.

Also this.)

#19 [video/voice] - first time for everything

[Koakuma's journal is sitting open on a table in the library in case anyone were to call for her, pointed straight to the ceiling with the video function active for no apparent reason while Koa herself passes by a few times with handfuls of books for reshelving.

She's busy enough that she doesn't seem to be paying much attention to anything else around her, and so she sounds surprised and gives an indignant squawk when someone—or something—grabs at her from outside of the journal's view. There are the sounds of a minor struggle as she tries to squirm her way out of being held, one of her wings smacking an unbalanced stack of books and sending the lot falling onto the journal, obscuring its already-useless view.]

H-hey! Let go! Let go of me! A-Adell, Patchouli, someo—[Interrupted by a heavy smacking noise, and followed by silence and then a loud crash.

Should anyone come to the scene, they'll find a pile of books on the table, Koakuma's journal underneath them, and a couple other books on the floor; the ones she was about to put back when she was grabbed. There is also a broken window nearby, possibly the escape route of whoever or whatever is responsible for this.]

(ooc: Hiatus until 11/27.)

#18 [action] - preparations

[Outside of her library work and up until recently her weekly trips to the lake, Koakuma has been staying fairly-quiet recently, generally remaining out of everyone's way.

With the weather becoming colder though, there's no avoiding a trip to All Passions to pick up something a bit more-appropriate for the season, especially not considering how the past winter had been for her. She leaves the house early in the morning to make this trip, and while there she picks out a sweater, pants, coat, and gloves, all the same color—black.

Following this, she makes a quick stop at the library to see if she is needed. After determining that she isn't, she simply goes about walking around the village in her new outfit. The coat in particular seems a bit awkward on her, it being a bit on the large side. During this walk, she thinks of another thing that should be looked into; checking the item shop for a space heater for her room—wouldn't want Patchouli getting sick from the cold. So, she pays a visit to that store as well looking to see if it has such a thing, and will eventually return to the house with her new clothing and possibly some other hopefully-useful things.]

ooc: Voice or action tags are okay—she won't be responding to written right now since her hands are kind of full at various points. For the ones who do action, here is a list stating where she is and when:
■ Early morning: House 44
■ Morning: All Passions
■ Early afternoon (approx. 12 minutes): Library
■ Afternoon: around the village
■ Late afternoon: Item/Furniture/Misc Shop
■ Early evening (and onward): House 44

[A series of dots appears all over the page as Koakuma taps at her journal with a pen, before deciding on something to write. That is, if she could actually make such a decision without stumping herself.

So in lieu of actually writing some kind of message...she starts drawing. It's an improvement over the last time she seriously tried, but still not particularly great. She's at least capable of straight lines, but it all...looks sort of blocky.

And by blocky we mean everything is formed of triangles and rectangles. Everything. <s>She can't draw a decent circle to save her life...</s>]

[early/mid-afternoon @ library]
[At the library, Koakuma is busy with her usual rounds, shelving newly-returned books and...actually managing to keep everything in order as she does so. Apparently, she's finally kicked her old habit of putting everything back in order based on the color of the book covers. She is working a little slower than normal, though, as if distracted by something, and when she stops for a break, her break is a good ten minutes longer than it usually is. If left undisturbed, she simply keeps going on like this, idly putting books back as they're given to her, until it becomes late enough in the afternoon that it's time for her to go.]

[late afternoon/early evening @ the village]
[When she goes, she's just taking the shortest route from the library to get to her apartment. You can try to bother her here if you wish, but Koa isn't in much of a talking mood right now, so don't expect too much if you stop her along her way.]

[evening/nighttime @ community one, first floor]
[After returning from the library, she heads straight to her apartment without stopping at any of the other rooms first. The roommate or neighbors may notice that Koa goes directly to her bed and lays there staring at the ceiling; she isn't actually tired, but she just feels so exhausted now and doesn't even feel like closing her door. Recent events that she had at first thought to be a good thing for her have quickly become stressful upon further thought and she isn't entirely sure she understands why.]

(ooc: When first tagging, please note which time-of-day/location you are catching her at, thanks!)

[Koakuma is idly walking past what remains of one of the houses that wasn't lucky enough to survive the quake, when she catches a glimpse of something lying on the ground. When she stops to take a closer look at it, she finds it to be a piece of a broken mirror. The reflection she sees in it is extremely alarming to her, and with a pained scream easily heard over the journals she bolts off in an indeterminate direction, not caring where she's going, just trying to get away before something were to happen.

She doesn't realize that these reflections aren't quite real.]

#14 [video; optional anonymous] - What do birds have to do with anything?

[When Koakuma's journal opens, she sees a page with both a video and space for written text. The video, interestingly, is of her staring at the journal, right at this very moment, but what confuses her is some of the text already visible below the image, hastily-written anonymous replies demanding that she...huh? Birds? What was this about birds? She didn't keep any pets...]

W-what are you talking about? What does "GTFO" mean?

(ooc: So, Koakuma has opened her journal to find herself the subject of a camwhore thread. Preferably, responses to this post should be written—but I won't stop you from using other posting types—and responding anonymously is optional but encouraged if you want to mess with her head. Koa's own replies will most likely be video due to the nature of the post.)

#12 [action] - deciding their course

[Koakuma, with Adell in tow, makes her way back to the clinic again. This time, it isn't to see anyone about the recent trouble she had been having sleeping—that was already taken care of—but instead it's to meet with Litchi and try to figure out what to do next, if anything, about this incident the two of them have gotten involved in.

Given the urgent nature of this trip, they aren't planning to make any unnecessary stops along the way, taking the shortest route possible from community building one to their destination, but that doesn't mean they won't run into anyone at all. Feel free to bump into them as they go, or to see them at the clinic itself.]

(ooc: Just a heads-up, since the two of them are going together, any tags on this post may be answered by Koakuma, Adell, or even both.)

#10 [accidental video] - don't leave me behind

[After her brief conversation with Terra and spending some time wandering the plaza trying to find Adell, Koakuma makes her way back to the apartment, intending to take a rest. When she enters the room, though, the sight that greets her is a jarring one, to which she drops her journal in surprise. When it lands on the floor, it flops open to give a partial view of a strangely-empty place.

Was this the right building? Was this even the right room?
She was sure of that much...why did it seem so empty now?

Without picking the journal up, and inadvertently allowing the video to continue without interruption, Koakuma walks about the apartment. She looks wherever she can, calling for the room's other occupant, in an increasingly-worried, even scared tone. Had something happened again? With everything that had been happening recently, it unfortunately didn't seem too unlikely to her.

If only she knew...]

#09 [action/voice] - the more-annoying variety

[action]
[In the library, Koakuma can be found running about, closing every door or window she can find to keep those irritating butterflies out, and doing her best to kill any that manage to slip in, whether it's with or without help. They're considerably more-annoying than the fairies back home, mostly thanks to how aggressive some of them have gotten and how they get in your face instead of being content to hang back and attack from a distance, and the various small bite marks are proof enough of that.

First that whole ordeal involving Patchouli not too long ago, and now this. Could things really get much worse? If some of the things she's been hearing from the journal are any indication, yes, they definitely can...]

[voice]
Stupid things!
#08 [action] - a favorite color, perhaps?

[On her way to the library, once again, is Koakuma. She appears to be in a decent mood, but why wouldn't she be after seeing that Patchouli was going to be alright? The girl hums to herself as she walks along, although it's just a sort of random noise, not any song in particular.

She's a bit oblivious as usual, though, completely failing to notice the little thought bubble above her head. What's odd about hers compared to the others is it isn't words or even pictures, but a single large blotch of color that nearly fills it. A shade of lavender, to be exact. A favorite color, perhaps? This is an odd time to be thinking of something like that, though...]

#07 [action/voice] - brb, worrywart

[Having since found Patchouli and carried her back to the apartment, Koakuma hasn't left the building again for any reason, not even going to check on the library like she usually does. Instead, she's sitting right there, next to the bed, waiting for her friend/roommate to wake up and wondering what exactly happened out there.

She was in quite a rush when coming back inside, though, and had roughly dropped her journal onto the table next to the bed to give herself an easier time with setting Patchouli down. The book's rough landing on the table resulted in it falling open and subsequently broadcasting various noises from within the apartment, including frequent attempts to wake the unconsious girl.

After awhile, though, Koa sees the journal. However, instead of closing it, she takes the opportunity to try to find out just what is going on. Anyone who pays attention to the tone of her voice as she speaks now can notice that she's fairly-worried.]

Um... Does...does anyone know what Miss Patchouli was doing outside of the village?

[Now that the weather has definitely graduated from "freaking freezing" to "not bad but sometimes just a little chilly or wet", Koakuma can be found outside and doing what else but reading? She grabbed the first thing she could find in addition to her journal when she left the apartment to come outside, and it...happens to be an owner's manual for space heaters, of all things. It's better than nothing, one would suppose... Interesting coincidence <s>or not?</s> though, considering how her arrival here a few months back had been for her.

Reading something while sitting outdoors like this is just begging for someone to come and bother her, however, so why not pay her a visit?]

[Since Squalo had left almost everything out of order, Koakuma has taken it upon herself to reorganize all of the books again. Most of them are placed on the correct shelves this time, but some of the books are occasionally arranged by color rather than alphabetically, and any books that have titles beginning with "Q" have ended up slipping in with the "O" books as she has completely missed the little tail on the letter.

She's still at it right now if anyone would like to <s>correct her</s> help.]

[Now getting caught up in this "let's all try new stuff!" craze that seems to be going around, Koakuma has her journal open and is attempting to be a sketch artist. She's decided that she wants to start with an outdoor scene, but it's too cold out there for her taste, so she'll be drawing while indoors.

This is all well and good, but as she proceeds, the scribble hardly looks like the window she's looking out of, much less the snow, trees, and buidings she's looking at.
