Politics & Dominion
The high-level politics of the societies in a game world represent the foundations of the stories that will be told. This simple toolkit is designed to help answer the big questions which inform much of the day-to-day information players of the game will receive. This resource may be the first thing you reach for when building an epic sandbox setting, or more simply, it can serve as a way to give wider and more meaningful context to a starting settlement or single dungeon adventure.
Why do this?
Having a high-level overview of a game world’s societies allows for the creation of stronger plot hooks, more meaningful factions, and greater narrative consistency, helping to avoid becoming trapped by contradictions. While this level of detail is informative, most campaigns will only explore a fraction of the material prepared. With this in mind, the approach aims to deliver maximum narrative value with minimal prep time.
Though written with Cairn in mind, this supplement is entirely system-agnostic and can be used with any traditional fantasy setting, or even a grounded historical one, with only minimal omissions.

Cool supplement! A couple comments on your "government structures" section. Anarchy is not merely defined by "no formal government", it's defined by ideals such as mutual aid, free association, self-management, and radical egalitarianism. "Power struggles define control" makes no sense in defining an anarchist society and order would not be "enforced." Anarchists aren't against organization, they're against HIERARCHICAL organization, as hierarchy is essentially institutionalized authority/power over others.

Also, why no communism?? You could easily make room for more leftist/utopian systems to explore by combining some of your redundant authoritarian systems.
I'm putting this out there because I think TTRPGs are a great way of exploring different ways of living and structuring societies, and I feel there's not enough of it!
Stick this straight into my veins!!!
ah, thanks Jason. Honestly I’m just trying to keep up with you!!
