The Litter CleanUp mobile app is a platform that creates an exciting new initiative: pick up litter, encourage each other, and have fun while volunteering to make a difference for your community and the planet... all while improving your well-being by being outside and contributing to a greater purpose! We all walk by litter every single day - most likely without even realizing it. Plastic water bottles, cigarette butts, food wrappers... the list of trash outside is endless, and it is negatively impacting our planet at an alarming rate. That’s where the Litter CleanUp app comes in! There are 3 main functions of the app: 1. The ability to ‘submit’ your cleanups, whether it is 1 piece of trash or 100! 2. A profile page that tracks your progress (total litter count, streak, referrals, and cool badges) and shows a map of all of the litter you’ve picked up around the world. 3. A ‘connect’ page that allows you to create posts from your cleanups and encourage others to pick up litter too! This version includes our brand new machine-learning algorithm (we named him Oscar) that automatically reviews your litter submissions. Don’t worry… he’s not a grouch. The update also features a much simpler cleanup process. You don’t need to take a picture throwing away your trash, and there is a batch submission process if you don’t want to take individual pictures of the litter. Beyond that, the update includes design improvements that enhance your cleanup experience. We hope you enjoy it! 3.2.0 10/28/2021 New app update! This version includes bug fixes, performance improvements, and some helpful new features. 3.1.0 06/15/2021 This version is the biggest update for the Litter CleanUp app yet! We’ve received some amazing feedback and here’s what we came up with: - Simplified litter submission process - The ability to take 1 picture for your entire cleanup (and manually enter how many pieces you picked up) - A profile page that tracks your progress and achievements - including a map showing all of the litter you’ve picked up around the world - The ‘Trash Talk’ page that shares your cleanups (if you want) and allows you to connect with other awesome litter picker-uppers - Improved graphics throughout the app (including some cool new badges) After receiving initial feedback, we removed the rewards from the app. It turns out you guys don’t need any rewards in return for cleaning the planet… the satisfaction of getting outside and making a difference is enough for our CleanUp Crew!
