Padma Bridge Paragraph
The Padma Multipurpose Bridge is the longest bridge in Bangladesh. On June 25, 2022, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the country’s largest infrastructure. The bridge constructed with concrete and steel. This dream Padma Bridge is the biggest project implemented by Bangladesh without any foreign aid.

The length of the main bridge is 6.15 km and the width is 16.10 m. The bridge connecting Mawa in Munshiganj district to Jajira in Shariatpur district has two layers. It has a four-lane road at the top and a railway at the bottom. The Padma Bridge will be used for rail, gas, power lines and fiber optic cable expansion in the future.

Built at a cost of over Tk 30,000 crore, the bridge is making a significant contribution to the social, economic and industrial development of the southern part of Bangladesh. The bridge is playing an important role not only in the country but also in the regional connectivity of Asia and Southeast Asia.

পদ্মা বহুমুখী সেতু বাংলাদেশের দীর্ঘতম সেতু। ২৫ জুন, ২০২২ এ, প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা দেশের বৃহত্তম এ অবকাঠামো উদ্বোধন করেন। সেতুটি কংক্রিট ও স্টিল দিয়ে নির্মিত। স্বপ্নের এই পদ্মা সেতু কোনো বৈদেশিক সাহায্য ছাড়াই বাংলাদেশের বাস্তবায়িত সবচেয়ে বড় প্রকল্প।

মূল সেতুর দৈর্ঘ্য ৬.১৫ কিমি এবং প্রস্থ ১০.১০ মিটার। মুন্সীগঞ্জ জেলার মাওয়া থেকে শরীয়তপুর জেলার জাজিরা সংযোগকারী সেতুটির দুটি স্তর (তলা) রয়েছে। এর উপরের দিকে একটি চার লেনের রাস্তা এবং নীচে একটি রেলপথ রয়েছে। পদ্মা সেতু ভবিষ্যতে রেল, গ্যাস, পাওয়ার লাইন এবং ফাইবার অপটিক কেবল সম্প্রসারণে ব্যবহার করা হবে।

৩০,০০০ কোটি টাকারও বেশি ব্যয়ে নির্মিত সেতুটি বাংলাদেশের দক্ষিণাঞ্চলের সামাজিক, অর্থনৈতিক ও শিল্প উন্নয়নে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অবদান রাখছে। সেতুটি শুধু দেশেই নয়, এশিয়া ও দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব এশিয়ার আঞ্চলিক যোগাযোগের ক্ষেত্রেও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখছে।
