Your SU is the home of sports teams, societies and academic societies at the University of Lincoln. Supported by your Student Communities Officer, there are over 150 different groups to get involved with, so we have something for everyone. There are so many reasons to get involved with an activity whilst at Uni; keep reading to find out more…and join our We Are Lincoln community.
Sports
Supported by the Sports Officer, your SU sports clubs cover nearly every sport possible – Football, Swimming, Cheerleading, Netball, Rugby (Union, League and Touch!), Ultimate Frisbee, and Mountaineering to name a few.
Many of our teams take part competitions locally and nationally, including in BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport), with fixtures held throughout the year. However, there are also opportunities to train and play sports socially.
Societies
Societies are the best way to meet like-minded people, whilst bonding over an interest that you all share. From Harry Potter to Musical Theatre, Streetwear to City Pubs – there is a society to suit everyone’s taste! Societies run events, trips and more to take your University experience to the next level. The Student Communities Officer supports societies to give their members the best experience possible.
Academic Societies
Academic Societies exist to allow you to get more from your degree and academic experience whilst studying at Lincoln. Run by students and supported by your Course, Academic Societies organise guest lectures, discussion events and social study groups to help you get ahead in your academic field. Student Communities Officer, Student Representation Officer and Student Support & Development Officer work extensively with the University to provide amazing educational opportunities to members.
