Lighthouse Immersive is partnering with Bethany Children’s Health Center in Oklahoma to create a series of original immersive experiences designed specifically for children receiving pediatric rehabilitation and complex medical care.
The collaboration will bring immersive storytelling into a 5,000-square-foot auditorium inside Bethany’s new Outpatient Center of Excellence, a $178 million expansion currently under construction along historic Route 66 in Bethany, Oklahoma.
Through this long-term partnership, Lighthouse will develop on-demand immersive environments that allow children and their families to explore imaginative worlds – from the natural environment to outer space – without ever leaving the hospital.
At Lighthouse Immersive, we believe immersive technology has the power to transform how people connect with stories, environments, and ideas. In healthcare settings, those experiences can offer something even more meaningful: moments of wonder, discovery, and escape.
For children undergoing complex medical treatment or rehabilitation, immersive environments can provide a powerful way to engage the imagination and bring the outside world into the care environment.
“Immersive storytelling allows us to create environments that spark curiosity and creativity,” said Nice Gomez, CEO of Bethany Children’s Health Center. “Through this partnership, children and families will be able to experience everything from the stars overhead to animals at the zoo – or even a journey to the space station.”
The immersive auditorium at Bethany Children’s Health Center will be designed as a flexible, multi-use venue capable of hosting both immersive programming and live events.
The space will feature:
The immersive experiences will be available not only to in-patient children at Bethany, but also to the thousands of outpatient visitors who come to the facility each year.
The immersive auditorium is part of Bethany Children’s Health Center’s Outpatient Center of Excellence, a 200,000-square-foot expansion of its campus.
Located at 6800 NW 39th Expressway, the new facility will serve as a major hub for pediatric outpatient care and rehabilitation services.
One of the building’s most recognizable features will be a four-story colorful caterpillar sculpture on the exterior – an architectural landmark designed to symbolize transformation, growth, and hope for patients and their families.
The facility is expected to open to the public in November, with clinical operations beginning in early 2027.
Led by CEO and producer Corey Ross, Lighthouse Immersive has become a global leader in creating large-scale immersive storytelling experiences for museums, cultural institutions, and public audiences.
The Bethany project represents an exciting opportunity to expand immersive storytelling into a new context – healthcare environments designed specifically for children.
Lighthouse has previously collaborated with major institutions and partners on projects including The Cowboy: An Immersive Experience at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.
With Bethany Children’s Health Center, Lighthouse will design immersive content tailored to young audiences, with the goal of creating experiences that inspire curiosity, joy, and imagination.
Lighthouse Immersive offers an hourly fee based on a commitment of hours per week spent at the exhibit, to be paid out at the end a residency, depending on the residency length. A bi-weekly option is available for 6-week residencies. Attendance during the peak hours of afternoons, evenings, and weekends is preferred.
