Gender “X” option now available on driver licenses, instruction permits, and ID cards
As an alternative to “M” or “F,” Washington residents can now list “X” as their gender on a driver license, instruction permit, or ID card.

To help make our roads safer, Washington’s requirements for getting a motorcycle permit or endorsement will change on Jan. 1, 2020.
Starting Oct. 1, 2020, Washington residents will need REAL ID-compliant identification in order to board a commercial flight.
