Lublin is a city eagerly visited by filmmakers. Oscar-winning films, TV series, many important documentaries and numerous feature films have been made here. Lublin has ‘played’ not only Warsaw, but also Paris, Vilnius and even Moscow. It has also appeared on screen as itself – a city with a multicultural tradition, modern, friendly and open. Feature films, television series, important documentaries and productions awarded at the world’s most important festivals, including films recognised by the American Film Academy, were made in Lublin. The local streets, squares, courtyards and interiors remember the work of outstanding directors, actors and cinematographers, as well as hundreds of extras – often residents of the city who contributed to the cinematic history of Lublin. Lublin Film Trail is a story about the city told through the language of cinema. Thanks to it, you can get to know Lublin through the films that were shot here, as well as the visions of directors, producers, actors and extras. Transporting the viewer into the world of film, ‘immersing’ them in a specific scene, and revealing the secrets of filmmaking provides an invaluable opportunity to build bonds between Lublin and its residents, as well as the increasing number of tourists who visit the city. The Lublin Film Trail combines culture, history and emotions, showing that Lublin is not only a backdrop for film stories, but a full-fledged cinema hero.
