Merlin Winter knights

Winter knights were revealed yesterday, so I can finally post my offering, 'Secret Santa' which was an art / words combo for the wonderful slantedknitting.

The festivities may seem a distant memory, replaced by much more trying and worrying times but I post on the off chance someone is out there who would welcome some whimsy from a happier time.

I guess I should have waited a little bit for Merlin holiday reveals too but I thought I'd get in there whilst the odd lonely house still has lights on and peoples gifts haven't broken or been dis-guarded.

Happy new year to everyone and good luck with creative endeavours. Lets hope things in this crazy world we're living in will improve in the months ahead.

Well another year another ACBB over for me, This year I had the pleasure of working with tari_sue and slantedknitting They were both fantastic writers and I enjoyed collaborating with them very much.

It's been an odd day, I got sent home from work yesterday as I have a cold but since I work in a hospital with vulnerable people I've had to have a test for COVID -19 and have to self isolate until the results come back.

I only did two ACBB this year but that was my limit I've found it quite difficult what with the demands of work and the world gone crazy but I did work my socks off and put my heart an soul into those.

To compound matters I've signed up for a challenge next year (swim the English channel) so I've been trying to fit open water swimming in around everything else and have found my self falling asleep in the middle of watching something or trying to write / draw. Consequently I'm behind on my reading and everything else.

Ive completed my canon piece which will be posted at the end of the month and then, I don't know, I don't know if I should sign up for winter knights or Hoildays I love those fests and I love creating things for other people but I just don't know.

Merlin Anthology

Back in 2018 I heard about an ambitious project to celebrate 10 years of Merlin where fans create art and stories that form the basis of a book: Resurrection: BBC Merlin Fanthology

I had the opportunity to collaborate with the immensely talented schweet_heart and provide art for her story 'Carry my Heart' I did too much so now I can include the pictures that weren't used in the book

Remix reveals were yesterday. I got to remix for pelydryn77 and it gave me thd opertunity to paint Arthur reborn as a 1980s roller king rgpleat in shades and red hot satin shorts.

General Update and update on remix 2019 Merman art

Hello, I like many have been struggling a little of late with the whole COVID-19 situation, it is a terrible time and has impacted on all of us across the world in many diffrent ways but despite what has been happening there have been opertunities for people to show little acts of kindness and I have been the benefactor of one.

I'm a physiotherapist and my husband is a mircobiologist. We both work in hospitals and for the NHS so have continued to go into work over the last few weeks and sent our children away to self isolate with family - I'm not going to go in to details but its been hard and my son has found it vey difficult and there have been issues which came to ahead last week - consquently it has been a real strain so I've not been feeling at my best.

Today I recieved a wonderful gift fic from the imcomparible polomonkey and it could not have come at a better time. A little act of kindness goes a long way and I can't express how much it means to me. Writing a fic of course is not little, I'm awed by the friends I have that are incredible writers. I'm not a gifted writer but I do know about the effort that goes into creating a story and the joy that can be direved form reading it, so thank you. Thank you so much.

Not only did Polo gift me a story but it was inspired by my merman remix art that by collaborator never completed.

I posted this merman art last year as part of 2019 camelot remix but my original partner has yet to post the story, I can't lie, I was disapointed as I don't know what happened. I hope she is alright and I wish her all the best.

Some of the artist that posted for remix in 2019 had multiple authors wanting to write storties for them so for Polomonkey to be inspired by mine is a great hounour. I have read the first two chapters and for anyone who has been under a rock and has not spotted it, here is this link, it's called Spindrift I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did /do.

So bunnysworld and I posted our big bang yesterday. She has wrote a wonderful story and there is a link to it in the art post. I had a real challenge drawing horses which is not an area I have experience in but I persevered and I'm quite pleased with the results.
Posting ACBB is so stressful after months of hard work you just hope people will like what has been produced. I have more ACBB posts which I'm still completing but this is the first.

I got a gift today! My fandom friend Caldera32 wrote me a lovely hurt and comfort Merlin fic for my birthday back in February. She posted it today which means others will get the opportunity to read it.

Caldera32 has written some amazing stories, she specialises in canon era, hurt and comfort and some action adventure. I credit her with getting me into the fandom, I read and was inspired by her stories and she kindly offered to beta my fledgling fics. Without her encouragement and help I doubt I would have got actively involved in the fandom.

Summary: Merlin's past few days had already been too eventful, then he had to go and summon the White Goddess as well...

Camelot Remix 2019

Camelot remix reveals were last weekend and I finally get to say thank you. Firstly to the mods for organising and running the fest and to the person I received a gift from and the people I created ones for.

This is a belated birthday present for the wonderful Bunnysworld. I wanted to do something that was unique to her and she might enjoy. I know she is awesome at sewing so I wanted to incorporate that somehow so I got chatting with my fandom buddies, clea2011, tari_sue, merlocked18 and camelittle and they helped to inspire this. I had the opportunity to work with sassafrasx on the reverse Merlin fest. We were supposed to post together on Wednesday but unfortunately due to some technical difficulties and our respective time differences my partner suggested I post the art and she would post the fic a couple of hours later.
Sassafrasx is doing her best to resolve the problem and once she has, all the links on my art post should work. In the mean time I hope this will wet your appetite for what is to come and you can check out her story.

I used watercolours which is not a medium I am very familiar with but they just seemed to lend themselves to the subject matter and gave the right atmosphere and feels which I don't think I would have achieved if I'd used something else. I hope you enjoy
