I suppose they did recapture the mean-spirited cruelty of the very first Sleepaway Camp, but that doesn't really amount to a whole lot when you deal with such a thin roster of characters and weird pacing that just completely fails this as a slasher. At least the nonsense ending was a bit fun.

Early De Palma lacks the incredible style but thankfully the perversion is still there in full effect. I barely know what I watched here but I know that Robert De Niro loves his little camera. And yes of course early De Palma was already obsessed with Alfred Hitchcock, Rear Window in this case.
