In this case, Weapons is being sold as the ultimate WTF experience that you HAVE to see in a crowded movie theatre and that you MUST go into knowing as little as possible to allow it to work its spell. A very fun, very creepy time. I think the film would have benefitted from slightly slower pacing, especially leading up to the kitchen table scene, but that's barely worth mentioning in the face of a great achievement: someone finally made a good movie about a building that's bigger on the inside than it is on the outside.
