The very idea of real-life conversion camps is such an absolutely vile and horrific concept that it's a bit surprising that they haven't had more of a presence in the horror genre up until now, as They/Them's most horrifying moments come more from the unfortunately true-to-life psychological torment and emotional abuse our young characters are put through more than any of the actual slasher elements, (especially considering the reveal of the masked killer's identity...)
