I would rate this 5 stars for the music, cinematography, and overall style, and I’m a huge Refn fan so I was expecting it. But I feel like there’s not just enough substance here, it’s too long, and felt just pointless and not well written in the end. I absolutely loved Too Old Too Die Young, so I guess I had too much hype for this.

This must be one of the craziest movies I've ever seen, and I loved it for it.

The Neon Demon has some truly memorable and visually stunning sequences, Jena Malone is crazy good, cinematography and music are just incredible. Story? Not so much, but it's clearly not about the "story", it's a film that communicates on a deeper level and through very powerful and provoking visual metaphors (but not subtle ones as in Only God Forgives, which required more attention to be understood). It's something to rewatch and let sink in, and it containes a variety of incredible images that will surely be remembered.

I’m a huge fan of Jeselnik, and while I’ve found this special kinda funny, it’s just not remotely at the same level of Thoughts and Prayers, and it was a bit too predictable and flat.
