A bold new start for the Man of Steel.

Released nationwide on July 11, 2025 to massive fanfare and ticket sales, this relaunch of DCโ€™s most iconic hero was helmed by writer and director James Gunn - following his public uncoupling from Marvel. With a reported budget of $225 million, the film kicks off his ambitious new DC Universe with a bangโ€”albeit a slightly messy one. Three years after announcing himself to Earth, Superman must reconcile his alien heritage withโ€ฆ

Beautiful, baffling, and totally hypnotic.

For years, I avoided this one. It sat perched at the top of my โ€œlist of shameโ€ โ€” that elusive group of canonized classics I *knew* I should watch, but quietly feared I wouldnโ€™t connect with. Heretofore, David Lynch is a director I respected, but never really connected with. I hated "Eraserhead." Did not care for "Blue Velvet." Never been intrigued enough to watch "Twin Peaks." Fatherhood is the wildest terrain.

Directed by John Pasquin, this family comedy swung into theaters in March 1997. Produced by Disney with a budget of roughly $32 million, the PG-rated film capitalized on its star's massive popularity, grossing over $105 million globally despite scathing reviews from critics.

There were few people hotter in the mid-90s than Tim Allen, and it is his enthusiastic gamesmanship that really sells this otherwise hokey, high-concept story. Plus, you've got Martin Short who provides ampleโ€ฆ

Underwhelming.

Slow moving POV shots, jump scares, religious iconography, glowing TVs, ancient curses, backwards audio, creepy drawings, possession, old ladies, demonic chants, dark hallways, prank calls, haunted dolls, and more. "Undertone" really throws every but the kitchen sink at its very patient audience... with mixed results.

Ian Tuason's microbudget horror film utilizes a unique delivery mechanism for its thin story (it's a about a podcast!) but the rest is merely a jumbled mess of tired ideas we've seen countless timesโ€ฆ

The Karate Kid Part III

Just so I understand the plot correctly:

The 113-minute story is about a nuclear-waste-dumping billionaire who goes undercover as a destitute karate instructor in order to subvert a teenager's chances at a regional, bragging-rights-only tournament in an effort to generate publicity and credibility for a chain of dojos run by the abusive and disgraced villain from part one.

Do I have that correct? Because it sounds completely insane when you say it like that. Also, like 25% of the run-timeโ€ฆ
