Oh, how we admirably harken for the wonders of risk-taking films of the past. When the tepid-inhabitations were shredded, and thrown into the air. Blade Runner 2049 is the reminder we needed. In the sugar confectionary of today's mainstream, 2049 is a shout in the darkness. A meditative, slow-burn, audacious as hell, Sci-fi bewilderment. Every shot in this film is sumptuously impactful. The narrative never condescends, and never shows it's hand. Everyone can have an interpretation. All may love it, hate it, but no one will ever forget it.
