Working-class woes keep warm embraces at bay; not giving the cold shoulder to a lover, but simply unable to muster up the energy to indulge in intimacy. Love is an out-of-reach luxury, for all that matters is putting food on the table and making it through the day. The essence of life isn't to be found here.

People spend their whole lives forming bonds with each other. Some of those bonds are permanent, others fleeting. Some bonds simply do not last at all, others only get stronger over time, while some unfortunately have the sour luck of hanging by a thread while slowly crumbling like walls subjected to acid rain. Rarely does a relationship remain unchanged throughout its course.
