more nine inch nails icons. this year has been a total overload of nin for me. i was lucky enough to catch them in my hometown, toronto ontario, but also @ lollapalooza in chicago with a buttload of other awesome bands aswell. plus im seeing them again in november when they come to hamilton. that will be the last time i see josh freese with nin, so i hope i dont cry like a baby. chyyyeahh brahh.

Wow. Talk about not posting for a while.
Before I couldn't make icons due to being swamped with exams and summatives. Then I ran into my favourite little friend, icon-block. I honestly haven't been able to make a decent looking icon since the last time I posted.

Tutorial # 002

Today we'll be going from:
REALLY SIMPLE. very translatable, i assume.
to

first we'll start with a picture. (i used: THIS PICTURE from maggiebear.)
i ended up with this base:
(you can sharpen / do whatever you'd like to the base. i just left mine the way it was.)

Next, duplicate the base and set it to screen @ 30%.

Make a new layer, and fill it with FFC834. Set that to color burn @ 80%.

Make another new layer and select your paintbrush tool. set it to size 1, opacity 100%. Now select your pen tool. Make sure this is set to 'paths' and 'freeform'. (these options can be found at the top toolbar of the page.)

Zoom in, and draw around the subject with the pen tool. If your settings are right there should be a grey line on your page.

Get the color D3BC27, and while still on the pen tool, right click the line you made. Click 'stroke path', and make sure that it's set to 'brush'. Click okay and a colored line should appear under the grey one.

Now right click on the line again and select 'delete path'. The grey line should dissapear.

You should now have something like this :
And now you can do whatever you'd like, such as text or whatever!
