Workspaces

Create distinct workspaces for each organization or department you work with. Data stays private within each workspace and you can quickly switch between them without logging out.

 

Workspaces are completely secure and no data is shared between them. You can invite the same people to all your workspaces or have completely different teams in each. If you or your team belong to multiple workspaces you can quickly switch between them at any time.

Why Use Workspaces?

Multiple workspaces are often used for:

  • A contractor needing to collaborate on projects from separate organizations
  • A multi-business owner requiring their own distinct space for each business
  • Individual departments inside one organization needing distinct workspaces for their own projects and teams

Access, Create and Change Between Your Workspaces 

Easily access Workspaces through your Account Avatar Menu, located at the LHS base of the page.  Click the Workspace menu option to display your Workspace selector:

Here, you'll be able to view all workspaces available to you in the capacity of an Account Holder, or User with an assigned role. Click your desired workspace for instant accessibility, with no need to re-enter your credentials.

Note: Enterprise customers can make custom workspace URLs! For example, Acme Construction can use acmeconstruction.app.projectmanager.com. Email support@projectmanager.com and we'll be happy to set this up for you!

Create an Additional Workspace

Creating a new workspace can be achieved in a few clicks - simply click the "create a new workspace account" option, and enter your new workspace details. This will create a new independent account with its own Edition settings and billing:

Ensure you verify and confirm your account by clicking the link in the "Verify your email" sent to your email address upon sign-up.  Additional workspaces aren't available until your account is verified.

Renaming Workspaces

As an account holder of a workspace or a Role user with the ability to change account settings, you can update the workspace name, which will reflect for all users on the account.  Navigate to your Avatar Menu<Accounts tab and update the "Company Field" to re-name your workspace:

Update Account Edition and Billing

Each workspace is its own independent account. As an account holder, you can make any changes necessary to settings like the account edition, billing details and these changes won't impact any other workspaces that you own or are part of.

The Avatar menu has the Accounts menu option available for any account level changes:

Accept an Invitation to Join a Workspace

You'll receive an email notifying you of the invitation to join another workspace, however, all workspaces that you have been invited to will be populated on your workspace selector.  Simply click the desired workspace, and complete your onboarding steps to join.

Remove Yourself From a Workspace

There are two methods to remove yourself from a workspace - you can simply contact your Account Admin to have them make your user profile inactive, or you can complete this action yourself if you have access to the “Manage Users” Page.

Note that you'll be immediately logged out of the workspace once the action has been completed.

If your permission allows for “Manage Users” access, this option will be visible when displaying your Avatar Menu, located at the LHS of the bottom of the page.

Go to your Avatar menu and select the “Manage Users” option:

Click the 3-dot menu alongside your user record to display your profile options. Select “Make Inactive:”

The following prompt will display to inactivate your user role - simply click 'OK' to complete the process. You'll receive confirmation instantly and be logged out of your account workspace.

If you have multiple workspaces tied to one email login, the workspace you have been removed from will no longer display in your workspace selector upon your next login.
