How to Transfer Your Project Data to Another Account

If you need to transfer your project data to another account, the easiest way to do so is using our export and import feature.

There may be scenarios where you need to transfer your project data to another account. For example, you took a 30-day free trial of ProjectManager and now need to transfer your data into your organization’s paid account.

Use the Import and Export Feature

The easiest way to accomplish this is to export your data and import it into the new account. We recommend exporting your data into an XML file for a seamless import. You can locate the import and export icons along the Gantt and sheet views.

Please note that the following fields will need to be entered manually once you have completed your import:

  • Actual start and finish dates

  • Comments

  • Files

You can even import any resources that you have previously created into your new account. Once you have imported your project, be sure to give your team members access to your projects so they can view and edit them.

Can I use the same email address for two accounts?

If you create an account with us, your email address can only be used once. If you'd like to create another account with us, you’ll want to use another email address.

If you're worried about data sharing with clients, other departments, etc., remember that all projects are private unless you give another team member access.
